Stayed at Carmichael Guesthouse for 12 days. Combined vacation and conference. We (my husband and I) loved the spacious room, having breakfast in the garden, getting a tan at the pool, the quietness and not the least the charming and service minded couple (Yves and Valerie) that run it. You will enjoy the delicious breakfast, easy find your way to... More

My eight day stay at the Carmichael Guesthouse was remarkable in many ways. My spacious room with an ensuite bathroom was on the main floor of the guesthouse. A comfortable bed and quiet garden surroundings was just what I needed during my busy trip. The host Yves and Valerie were amazing with their care and advice about places to eat... More

I greatly enjoyed my one week stay at what turned out to be a boutique guest house of good quality food, warm hospitality by Yves and Valerie and a good size bedroom. The wi-fi in the bedroom was really fast. Those French style fluffy croissants with home made marmalade was something I looked forward to each morning together with a... More

I stayed here while visiting my daughter who attended a study abroad program at University of Cape Town. While here she had her appendix removed at Vincent Palloti hospital. This beautiful guesthouse is conveniently located to both venues as well as an easy taxi ride to all Cape Town has to offer. The room we stayed in was huge, beautifully... More

Dear Cathy, Thanks a lot for your friendly comment. I am glad we could reassure you regarding your daughter's hospitalization. I trust she is doing well now and that she had a good semester at UCT. I believe she will be heading back home soon now. Keep well. Best regards / Yves More

My wife and I recently spent two weeks in Cape Town, visiting my daughter, who was studying abroad at UCT. The Carmichael Guesthouse was our home away from home. The accommodations, gardens, and overall home was absolutely beautiful. It is a short drive from all which is Cape Town, restaurants, harbor, vineyards, shopping, Table Mountain. The staff is outstanding. Most... More

We had a wonderful time at the guesthouse. The guesthouse was beautiful - the rooms were clean, spacious and beautiful. We had all the amenities we needed. Breakfast was delicious. The hospitality was outstanding. The guesthouse is located right near the UCT campus and is a short ride from Cape Town's shopping areas and eateries.

carmichael's guesthouse is a very nice location to stay. close to the airport, in a quiet environment and "top" hosts Valerie & Yve. There's a nice garden where you enjoy a great breakfast, room and shower are super. We only had one day in CPT but we will certainly return for a longer stay to enjoy the city.
