What a pearl in the rainforest. We loved our stay here. Very relaxed, nice room, nice staff and good food. We can recommend this hotel if you want a glimp of the rainforest. We can recommend a river tour as well. And one must drive north to Cape Tribulation. We must come back once!

What a fabulous play to stay at deep within the Daintree Rainforest. We loved it ! The cabins are lovely and the grounds of the lodge were wonderful to explore. The swimming holes were stunning with crystal clear water. Truly a one-off rainforest experience ! Huge shout out to the Chef – our dinner was amazing. Accompanying vegetables can sometimes be a bit “iffy” but these were superb - so fresh and cooked perfectly. The menu options were very good and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The cocktails at happy hour were excellent too ! Best Daiquiri I have had in a long time ! Breakfast had freshly baked bread – which was to die for ! As they warn you, there is no wifi or cell coverage there but that is actually a real bonus! Also, my husband has a bit of mosquito phobia (not so good when you are travelling deep within a rainforest), but the cabin was very well screened and even had fly spray provided, so he had no problem sleeping at all. Highly recommend staying here when visiting the Daintree Rainforest. Great accommodation, great grounds and great food.

We run a small travel company and ran 4 tours to Cape York and back during June, July and August 2023 including some in 2022 and 2021. On each tour we have been extremely well catered for by Vicki, Denise and their friendly staff. The accomodation setting deep in the Daintree along with first class meals makes this, for our groups, the best place to stop when travelling either North or south from the cape back to Cairns.

Ideally situated lodge in the center of the Daintree Forest. Comfortable bungalows with two guest entities each spread in the forest, which gives the place a very special atmosphere. Small fridge in the bathroom. At arrival guests are equiped with a torch and an umbrella. Parking spaces are availabe close to the bungalows. Nice restaurant in the mids of the forest with good food. Sleep can be disturbed by noise caused by neighbours in the bungalow and/or by wildlife in the forest. The place is a clear recommendation.

The creek was our highlight we had a fantastic time swimming and enjoying the rain forest environment. However the room was disappointing especially the bathroom which wasn’t the cleanest we even had a mushroom growing next to the shower..The slats in the room did not close at the top letting the insect life run free in the room with us. If you hate spiders then it’s a definite no no they are huge and early evening were all over our decking / seating area. The TV was far too small in the corner and you can only watch DVDs from reception and no WiFi unless you go to the bar area. Breakfast was basic but enjoyable especially the freshly baked bread. Be aware it’s very damp and all our clothes became damp in our cases but hey it’s a rainforest. If you want to experience a real rainforest and all its creatures it’s definitely for you but if you want modern surroundings and facilities it’s not for you.

We stayed for three nights and enjoyed our time there very much. The creek swimming is absolutely amazing and not something you can get at other locations in the daintree easily. The creek swimming here is so much nicer, less trampled, more private than the several other tourist locations we visited that we just didn't bother at the other tourist locations. The accommodation is simple and rooms well kept though not "immaculate" there is some forgiveness deserved considering the difficulties of this location - it is always damp, really damp, it is always muddy, there are always spiders and bugs, it is really without doubt among the rainforest with all the associated logistical challenges. In comparison to Fern Tree at Cape Trib where we also stayed, our room at Heritage was better kept. The restaurant was very good. The meals are relatively simple but they worked well, the service was quick, the staff friendly. The kids meals were healthy and good - chicken/fish/meat with veg/chips, our kid loved the freshness of these meals. Cocktails were good too. We appreciated in the end that they were working efficiently within means. In comparison to Fern Tree at Cape Trib where we also stayed two nights, the restaurant at Heritage is fantastic for the aforementioned reasons. The included breakfast is ample and easy. Their fresh baked bread is absolutely must-have every morning. With our 7 year old child sleeping the three of us in one room was easy. If you had a couple of older children perhaps you'd choose to book two rooms adjacent to give more space and separation. The rooms are built in sets of two. You hear almost everything going on in the room next door - something to be aware of. On two evenings we had another young family next door, everyone went to sleep early, that was fine. On another evening we had a family with older kids that watched a movie late (not stupidly late, but later than our sleep time) so of course we heard the movie and their chatter and laughter. Again I have to draw your attention to the uniqueness and challenges of running accommodation in this location and we were happy to suck up the fact we needed to be tolerant of others around us, and I'm sure if they went too late and we commented they'd have been considerate. We really enjoyed our stay and were so grateful to be able to stay in among the rainforest at this location.

The heritage lodge is a beautifully hidden accomodation situated amongst the rainforest in the Daintree. We came as a family of 4 with 2 small children(5 and 6). The family room was great but I wish we didn’t have a shared wall with the neighbours as there was little to no sound proofing- my kids are noisey and so were the neighbours! If you can request a stand alone cabin then do that instead! The restaurant “on the turps” was one of the few restaurants in the area so very handy that we just ate dinner there both nights as driving on those windy cliff side roads with rain at night would be scary! Continental breakfast was included but only limited to bread, spreads, fruit, yoghurt and cereal. Would’ve killed someone for an egg. That is something they could improve on. There is no kitchenette so finding food is a must- also something they should consider since the very limited food stores are kilometres away. No reception in most places in the Daintree, only wifi close to reception which was a nice reprieve from life. No tv service either- just DVDs which my kids loved finding something different to watch - ‘land before time!!!’ So good. Our absolute favourite part of our stay was the creek. The kids had a ball making rock forts and swinging from vines, it’s a kids paradise (4years and up), just make sure they are good swimmers. Pool was overlooked because the creek was amazing.

We stayed here as a family and found the location to be beautiful. Lovely staff at reception and around the cabins. There is no wifi unless you are near reception/restaurant. They have some board games (twister!) and DVDs available to borrow but not much variety for small children so recommend bringing some DVDs along if you have small children. There are two swimming holes that make you feel very al naturale and immersed in the rainforest. The pool is not heated and was freezing during July so we found it better to hop in the crispy creek. Please be mindful that the cabins are airy and open with vents and as such there is little to no sound proofing. You can hear the nature and the neighbours, it is pretty relaxed though so there's no one keeping you up with parties. 4 stars because the breakfast provided at On The Turps could be better, especially considering the exxy spread they serve at lunch and dinner. Bread, condiments, tea, coffee, juice, fruit, and cereal. Tasty bread though. At any place you stay in the daintree you want to be prepared as there's not much around. There is a great little servo/minimart down the road with food etc. There is no kitchenette at the heritage lodge and buying out can be expensive and the few places around are mostly 12 - 2 for lunch which could spell trouble for hungry families who miss the lunch cut off. Get snacks and plan your meals. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at heritage lodge in the daintree. Thank you to all the wonderful staff.

This nice complex of rooms and cabins in located within the rainforest and very pleasing to wandering the grounds. We were very tired and had a great sleep listening to the ration gently falling overnight through the trees, fortunately the next day it cleared and the weather was brilliant. The cabin was a good size with a reasonable ensuite and good shower. The bed was reasonable and a good sleep had. The hotel has an onsite restaurant offering very good but simple fare and wine and beer are available at a fair price. The WiFi worked reasonably well in the central reception area not so good away from there, understandable given the spread of the property. The staff were great and had helpful advice about the local area. A nice place to stay.

We went for dinner and it couldn’t be faulted! The online menu was different to the one we got given at the restaurant . My partner said it was one of the best steaks he’s had and my duck was great. We ended our meals with a dessert (sticky date and Eaton mess) both were also great! Nice atmosphere, very lovely. Thank you!
