We are a small international hostel situated in the heart of the village of Providence Bay, Ontario, on the south shore of Manitoulin Island. We offer affordable accommodations, including a family room, private room, and hostel-style bunk room appropriate for travellers of all ages. There are two shared bathrooms; each has a shower. Guests are welcome to use the shared kitchen, living room, and backyard. The Auberge Inn Hostel is 400 steps from the longest sandy beach and boardwalk on Manitoulin Island. The beach alone is worth the trip! Auberge Inn Hostel is a comfortable and affordable place to spend a night or a week. We can accommodate up to 12 guests. Stayed here with my daughter in July 2018. Hosts very helpful in providing information to determine our itinerary for the day -- maps, brochures, suggestions etc. Wonderful hosts. Walking distance to excellent fish and chips and the beach. Excellent value for the money. Would definitely return.

We are glad to find this hostel as accommodation choices in Manitoulin Island is pretty limited and pricey. The fish and chips located right beside the hostel is not to be missed, same for watching sunset at the nearby beach with long boardwalk. We were staying only for 1 night on a popular summer long weekend booking at the last minute and was actually surprised to be accepted. We started to panic when we first arrived and couldn't find the hostess, but was warmly greeted after finally able to locate her. Be sure you're comfortable climbing up and down the bunk beds if you stay here, as the bottom level is usually taken up first. Personal locker is provided. There are 2 washrooms for the tourists, and we didn't find ourselves fighting for one. The bed is equipped with a small fan and lamp, but can get quite hot without air conditioning. Ear plugs are provided in case your have snoring neighbors. The owner has cats but they stay outside. Breakfast here was amazing as we were offered a variety of milk and milk alternatives, brand name cereals, and tasty local jams. According to the hostess, most who stay here are actually not students but older adults. There were a number of French speakers during our stay.…

Heidi and Serge were warm and welcoming. They helped us organize our large cycling group to participate in the Manitoulin passage ride and it was amazing! Don't forget your towels (we did) - but they made accommodations for us which was truly awesome. Thanks for sharing your space and your beautiful island with us!

Good location, enough parking area, neat and clean, cordial hosts who joined us for a drink.. decent breakfast.. we liked the place. We were a group of 14, on a long week end drive.. BBQ, campfire, cooking.. enjoyed staying there.
