This property is the base camp for guests of The Bruny Island Long Weekend. Well secluded, on a private 100 acres, this little haven represents the perfect place to retreat. Although the camp has been built completely 'off the grid', we are not without our creature comforts. Each tent contains a king-size bed with quality linen and the highlight, for many guests, is our hot outdoor shower, tucked away on one of the most beautiful parts of the property.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Getting on to the island via the car ferry was great & the views are spectacular, the northern island much nicer. The big down fall is the lack of cafe’s & suitable eateries. Not a decent cafe or food outlet on the island, very disappointing to say the lease as when you plan a trip to. We’ll designated tourist area the lack of tourist facilities is not a good look.

Hi Peter, Thanks for leaving a review for your time on Bruny Island. Sounds like you may have missed some of the great food and wine stops on the island! We hope you get back there one day and find them. As this review doesn't apply to our tour product, we would recommend leaving a review on a general Bruny Island listing. Thanks, Georgia.

What a great adventure! Our guides were fantastic, knowledgeable, helpful and fun - and great cooks! The campsite was amazing - comfortable beds, unbelievable shower and great dining hall. The walks were beautiful - even the rainy day and the view clouded out.

Louie and Jonte were a wealth of information on our guided walk. We had Incredible scenery, terrific food and patient guides that were tolerant, articulate and energetic. Our group couldn’t have wished for more. We heard that the homemade Louie Mayonnaise was world class and never let Bruce near the feature wall. Thank you and see you again. Mary

Our long weekend on Bruny Island was perfect. B and Jessica, our ever attentive guides, worked tirelessly to make sure the experience was flawless. The hikes were at a relaxed pace - the views amazing. The food on every occasion was delicious. The camp incredibly comfortable with awesome views and countless animal encounters. Rob has created a fantastic experience from the minute you hop on his boat until the moment you return to Hobart. Highly recommend.

Recently experienced Bruny Island Long Weekend booked via Tasmanian Walking Co. Day 1. First morning the group of 10 met our wonderful guides Lily B and Ella C in Hobart for the trip from docks via boat to Bruny Is. Mini bus then to first walk out to Cape Queen Elizabeth and lunch break high on bluff overlooking beach. Moderate walk and guides accommodated differing levels. Afternoon, freshly shucked oysters on the beach. Camp ( Glamping) off grid on 100 acre site. Limited mobile coverage with Telstra. Very comfortable tent and beds. Shared toilet and Showers with a view. Excellent dinners served by guides in camp hut with open fire. Day 2. Drizzly weather - intended walk to East Cloudy Head of 5 hours. By consensus of group, guides arranged different itinerary to lighthouse, due to rain. Day 3. Enormous breakfast followed by climb to top of Mt Mangala for morning tea. Farewell lunch at the Jetty Cafe before return to Hobart. Most professional, knowledgeable, accommodating and flexible guides, Lily and Ella managed our diverse group and made for such a wonderful experience. Would recommend booking trip with this company.

This was a wonderful experience on beautiful Bruny Island with great guides, a very comfortable camp and outstanding coastal views. It was the perfect introduction to a hiking holiday and a great way to spend time with family. Damon and Bel were great guides and lots of fun. They work so hard to make everything seamless and we’re so knowledgeable . Food and wine were great. Highly recommend!

I thought this trip would be a bit too "soft", however it exceeded expectations on every level. The hikes were awesome. Not challenging, but enough to feel that you had a decent workout, and some incredibly beautiful locations. The camp site was fabulous. Loved the soft beds, the eating cabin with the stone open fireplace, and yes the outdoor shower was sublime The food quality was simply unbelievable. Fresh local produce prepared to perfection by our guides Ollie and Simon. And hats off to both for producing a simply incredible trip. Friends and I have been hiking together for more than 35 years now. Never experienced anything like this!

From the superb guides, Damon and Simon of which environmental knowledge and passion was second to none, to their exceptional culinary skills that left us joyed with local produce delights. We hiked to breathtaking views of Bruny Island’s Cape Queen Elisabeth and Cloudy Bay. Our guides ensuring everybody’s needs were well supported. Returning to camp in the afternoon treated us to a warm shower, chatting amongst friends about the day events over a beer/wine, before a three course meal and capping off with a super deluxe bed. Special mention to Rob for the smooth boat ride over and history commentary, and Barry for the return boat trip keeping us all warm and dry in the waterproof ponchos. So blessed to have shared the stunning Bruny Island experience with my amazing friends.

Loved every moment, from meeting fellow guests and our wonderful hosts, Ollie and Nina, in Hobart to our ‘break up’ lunch at Dennes Point. The food was a highlight, comprising fresh local ingredients expertly prepared and presented by our guides. Excellent to sit out on the deck with a beer in the sun after a walk and before dinner. Walks carefully judged to match the capabilities of participants, with alternatives lined up in case of bad weather. Max 10 guests per trip.
