Hundred Acre Hideaway is a beautiful place to stay while In Bruny Island. Waking up to the sheep and ducks in the paddock makes it a truly restful experience. The hot tub was luxurious and we thoroughly enjoyed lying in the warm water watching the stars at night… and there were times of stars on the clear nights. Charlie as host was brilliant and we shared a few stories. She was so patient showing us city slickers how to light the fire. The place has everything to unwind and check out from busy life. The food hamper with local produce was scrumptious and Charlie’s tips on local walks were spot on! We would definitely tell all our friends to stay and we would love to come back soon. Access is easy and directions to find the property made it a breeze. I cannot recommend enough!

The accommodation is stunning - clean and tidy, amazing views and everything you could want for a relaxing off the grid weekend. Kitchen had everything you need to stay in - and the hot tub made you want to stay in!
The hosts, Paul and Charlie, were so welcoming. Nothing seemed to much trouble and they made sure we knew all the amazing adventure the property had to offer; from the walking tracks, to the animals and the golf course!!
I highly recommend a weekend away at Paul and Charlie's slice of paradise on Bruny Island.

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay in the Barrel cabin, set in a secluded bush valley. We had a 4WD, so pretty easing getting there via the dirt track that gets a bit stony & steep in parts. The other cabin is nearby but far enough away to be no bother.
Paul met us - nice bloke & up for a yarn. He had the fire going for the outdoor red cedar hot tub, sunk into the private wooden balcony. On an overcast 10 degrees winter’s arvo, didn’t take much to decide to stay put, live off the supplies we’d brought & wallow in the 38 degrees tub. Quiet & stunning valley views from the tub, including watching Pademelons potter around & star gazing late into the night. A closeup visit from the local big brush tail possum was different!
Well placed for trips to Cape Bruny lighthouse & Cloudy Bay beaches. Nearby Hotel Bruny did good hearty pubs meals - loved our bacon & scallop linguine and seafood laksa, but book table in advance. Came back to another session in the 40 degrees hot tub. So good we got up at 7am on day of check out & jumped back in tub to watch rising morning sun thaw out frost & fog covered valley.
With a day to kill before getting back on Kettering ferry, we swung via Adventure Bay & walked bush tracks to Grass Point & Fluted Cape. Ate a packed lunch on Two Tree Point sandy beach. Climbed the viewpoint steps on the ismus. And stopped again for another $20 dozen fresh oysters at Get Shucked.

We had three lovley days staying in the Barrel cottage. Very relaxing. The view to the south was delightful especially from the hot tub! Charlie and Paul are wonderful hosts. We arrived with plenty of food but it was worth getting the breakfast hamper to enjoy the farm eggs, bacon, greens and homemade damper.
Thoroughly enjoyable and very restful few days.

So lucky to have stayed at such a special beautiful place! Everything was just magical! Hosts are extremely friendly and inviting! The place is cosy and well equipped. Loved the hot tub! Loved spending time with the sheep! We were so lucky to see beautiful light aurora, shooting stars and the milkyway! Can't wait to return one day!

Great stay thanks. Paul & Charlie for looking after us. Awesome hospitality. White Wallabys can be seen at dusk on the way to Hundred acre hideaway. Beautiful views and sunsets. At some times of the year the Aurora Lights can be seen from the cabin.

Warning to anyone contemplating a stay at #hundredacrehideaway. They are new owners who seem to have only one thing in mind. My stay there last week was cut short due to the sub-standard goat track which left me needing to have my vehicle towed from the island and an insurance claim. Not only did I waste $660 on accommodation (the only good thing was the hot tub but then that was scolding at first and could easily resulted in burns), but the cost of getting someone to come over too was another expense. So many people told me later about the poor condition of the track: locals, two service and funny enough the owner of the Bodyworks “argh yes I know exactly the road you’re referring too)”. The whole track you drive you drive with extreme care as it is not up to a standard especially for a commercial business. In the small section where I fell victim, my front left tyre has gone into a soft spot. The crown of the track was considerably higher with larger ricks which Resulted in damage under the vehicle - sump etc. there is no new gravel or grading on the road. The camber is appalling. Thankfully the lovely people at the #brunyislandpremiumwines showed some care and compassion as well as Paul - Bruny Island towing. The new owners of Hundred Acre Hideaway have responded a week later after we had tried numerous times to phone and said “make a claim through their insurance - that’s it, no details nothing”. I feel sorry for all those people renting cars as well who have no idea what they’re in for. As a part time Bruny resident for over 25 years and knowing that some roads need more cautious driving than others, the lack of consideration was unlike our Islander nature. Very disappointed response and says a lot. 😢

If you want to get away and be totally relaxed and in a romantic environment, this is the place! Out of the way but not isolated. No service or wifi ( if you reach over the railing you get one bar, but you won’t want it!) just being alone together was the best part of our stay. The stillness at night and the ability to relax was amazing. We actually wanted to spend more time at the cabin than we did sightseeing. And wow Bruny Island has some amazing sights. The bath was to die for. So relaxing and enjoyable!
We can’t wait to come back again and we can’t recommend enough! Thanks to Jen and Phil for being amazing owners!

My husband got top marks for booking the Hundred Acre Hideaway as an early Christmas present & a chance for the two of us to chilll out for a few days. It is so beautifully peaceful, there is an abundance of wildlife, you can pick fresh veg to have with your dinner, Jen’s bread and goodies are delicious.... but the hot tub is the highlight. Must admit we got a bit carried on our first night perhaps overindulging a little on the wine and cheese & around 8 hours in the tub, we fully expected a headache by the morning but it was like a miracle - woke up feeling better than expected & managed a long hike and lots of sightseeing (the lighthouse is a must). The tub was awesome after the active day & there were no aches and pains the next morning. Just makes you want to go out and get one! Thanks to Jen and Phil for a wonderful stay & well done on all that you have achieved at your beautiful place.

Thankyou so much for your great feedback, we’re really happy you had a fantastic stay. That hot tub is amazing isn’t it! I’ve never seen another one like it. Glad you enjoyed the peace and quiet too, it’s a very special part of the world. Wishing you both all the very best for the festive season and the New Year!
