We camped at Ashley Park for a week in December 15/January 16. Ashley Park provides simple camping and motel facilities, along with a range of activities for both guests and visitors. The camping facilities are relatively simple compared to Top10/All Seasons camp grounds. The sites are large and sheltered, and all are relatively close to the facilities. While the kitchen/bathroom...

Most definitely one of the best value and fun campgrounds in New Zealand! There are endless activities including mini golf, a tennis court, walkways and lots of animals and free roaming birds. The kitchen/shower facilities were incredibly clean and the large lounge area had plenty of seating and also a piano. Each campsite is separated by a high hedge providing...

My partner and I booked in for one night and we were greeted by the owner who made us feel very welcome from the start. We set up camp in a prime location plenty of space. We walked around the animals park and it was great, and it was great experience. 100's of chickens running round at your feet, the...

9 years ago we celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary & although my wife has passed on it was decided that we have another similar family gathering & Ashley Park was selected. It can easily cater for a large group. It has a lot of options like a Farm Stay off the shearing shed or bed & breakfast in the lovely...

We stayed for christmas and new year 2015/16 for a total of about 10 days. This campground is surprisingly quiet even in the high season and extremely good value for money. Our 2 kids (3 and 1.5) enjoyed feeding the animals every morning a lot and the park has so much to offer. Aviaries, farm animals, a extensive garden and...

We only stayed the night but what fun it was, seeing all the birds and the animals. The gardens and the lake were beautiful and the camping area well designed and well maintained. The kitchen may be a little small when the campsite is busy but it suited our needsy, and very large TV lounge is very comfortable. Highly recommended

My wife & I visited Ashley Park for the first time, accompanied by my elderly mother. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and Wendy is a most gracious host. There is a wide range of birdlife including ostriches, emus, a talking cockatiel and many colourful smaller species in aviaries. Donkeys, sheeps, a Scottish Highland cattle beast, alpaca, sheep, and Kunekune pigs are...

I have been coming to Ashley Park for a number of years now and keep returning to a well managed facility with a delightful array of animals and birds. On each occasion we have stayed in one of the apartments in the pole house. These units are well fitted out and kept immaculately clean. Wendy, our host, has (on several...

I stayed here for one night recently. The surroundings - the gardens, the lake, the aviaries, the farm animals - just great. Very relaxing. Would be a great place for young families. A beach not far away. The hostess was extremely welcoming and accommodating. Top marks.

We stopped here on the drive to New Plymouth for a rest and a refreshment. My sort of place. I guess a family run bit of everything; tea shop, museum, antique shop, B&B, campsite, garden, house, .....and more. Wonderful. Lovely host made us lovely 'English' style tea and scones with jam and cream. Then we wandered the antique shop and...

“My Sister and I have just spent 3 nights in one of the chalets and absolutely loved it. Beautiful view of the lake with swans and ducks. Really enjoyed walking around the grounds and all the animals, particularly loved Goldie the parrot who talked to us. Wendy, you have fabulous unique piece of paradise, we will be back. Martina”
