We stayed for 2 nights in the Gardeners cottage and loved every minute. The cottage itself is lovely, with a comfy queen sized bed, and a lounge / kitchen with a slow combustion fire. It was great to arrive later than we anticipated- with key in the door and the fire ready to go. It was amazing how quickly it warmed up the whole cottage on a really cold night. Breakfast provisions were great - Plenty of eggs and bacon and tomatoes . A plunger and coffee is provided , though we chose to take our own coffee pod machine . The view is gorgeous overlooking the vines- great to see the chooks roaming around , and plenty of wombat and rabbit burrows, though didn’t spot them on our walks . Definitely recommend the cedar cottages and can’t wait to stay there again

Recently stayed in the Timbercutter's Cottage on this property. After arriving at the Cellar Door for check-in, a very warm welcome and great chat over a wine tasting, we arrived at our cottage. Very rustic and charming, just what we wanted. As long as the bed and lounges are comfy, which they were, and there is a fire for my husband to continuously fiddle with, we're a happy bunch. Chickens running around outside, and only about 40 feet to the vines, it was a fabulous spot to spend a few relaxing days. The breakfast hamper in the fridge is fantastic. A drive over the mountain only takes about half an hour for more wineries and a great lunch somewhere. If you have a few supplies, or get them on your winery afternoon, you can then settle in with the fire and wine supplied by the Cellar Door. We loved our time at Cedar Creek, walking along the creek, and relaxing in front of the fire. You can walk anywhere you like on this property, which is lovely. We would certainly recommend this place to friends and family, we will be back again soon…

Aghhhhhhh Been here about ten times now. But recent visit will be our last. Never NEVER again. Gone down hill dramatically, and worst the owners attitude has gone downhill too - it is like she doesn't care anymore. Arrived at a dark cottage. Light bulb had blown. No matches for the fireplace. Not a great start to a romantic weekend after driving in the freezing wind and pouring rain from Sydney Weirdly found bottles of shampoo not in the bathroom, but on the dining room chair. Curtains thin and didn't entirely fit over the windows, huge gaps in the walls and door that could not be covered in towels. Whilst in past years I saw this place as "a bit of an adventure", recent visit I just saw it as it truly is : a run down dump Our cottage was filthy. Behind and under the sofa was about six months worth of dust and dirt. The sockets were broken. The oven was vile - dirty, stained and greasy. Smelt rank. Since we were on a romantic weekend away, no way did we want to scrub a oven for hours before use Owner was quite rude when I asked for some matches. Since I don't smoke, I didn't have a lighter and match box they supplied had three live matches and two dead ones. Surely if you rent out cottages with a fireplace, at least provide matches. Bath had a grime ring around. And dust and dead months in the bedroom The only think good about the stay, was the wine they produce. Funny, when we started staying here, the cottages were gorgeous and the wine was vinegar. Now the wine is gorgeous and the cottages are abysmal This was my go-to place in the Hunter for many years; but no longer The fact that you can win a case of wine if you give a good Trip Advisor review, makes the situation even worse in their lack of caring.......guess I won't be winning one any time soon! Very upset by this turn of events…

We stayed for two nights in the Timbercutter’s Cottage with our 13yo daughter and loved our stay. We enjoyed wandering the vineyard which was literally in front of the cottage. It was very peaceful with an abundance of wildlife (from cows in the paddock, to chickens roaming amongst the vines, to cockatoos, galahs and kookaburras in the surrounding trees). We loved the rustic feel of the cabin (which was also very comfortable) and the kitchen was stocked with all the essentials. Loved that all their wines were available at a great price and the complimentary port was a delicious bonus! We can highly recommend Cedar Creek Cottages for a true country getaway.

My husband and I booked a one night escape from the kids and this was a perfect choice! Rustic, cosy with everything we needed. Warm combustion fire, great provisions for a delicious hot breakfast and lots of trails for bike rides! Overlooking the vines and the beautiful creek. We highly recommend a stay here and will be coming back again!

spent 3 nights at Cedar Creek Cottages and Stonehurst Winery, celebrating the wedding of my son and daughter-in-law. The venue, food and especially Cedar Creek hosts were all amazing, and put together, they made it the most memorable weekend for the couple as well as family and friends.

I was looking for a place where me and hubby could zone out and escape the city for a couple nights - no wifi/no mobile phone reception :-) this was the perfect place. I stayed in a studio cottage “Gold Smith”, it was a self sufficient cottage with a small kitchenette with cooking utensils. The view was tranquil and the other upside was the range of wine from the Vineyard which was ready for our drinking. We didn’t have to go out to “fine wine”, as we were provided with a great selection in our cottage. We were also given more than enough eggs, bacon, bread for our breakfast. I highly recommend this place! Our cottage also had a spa bath which we happily used :-), this cottage is also located a 8min drive down the road from Wollombi town centre, which also had a restaurant, cafes + pub.…

I found the unit comfortable, however the lighting was poor and I would similarly classify the breakfast. In particular there was no breakfast cereal or even marmalade to put on the toast. In the morning a ride on mower created loud noise and clouds of dust of which covered the car and our gear assembled on the verandah and affected our breathing. The operator showed no concern nor did the office attendant. There was no apology or concern and simply remarked "I'll mention it to the operator". In view of the above comments I would give it a miss, the attitude wasn't pleasing.
