Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed here one night on our way through the Outback Way.

Fuel is available but be prepared if the tanker has not made it through.

Camping is behind the Roadhouse which has a good range of goods. They even had Roo Tails for the camp fire.

Camping is cheap and there are only a limited sites that had power.

Basic amenities but were clean. There's a kitchen too.

Fuel and Camping closes at 5pm or 3pm on the weekends. If in late you can pay the following day. Fuel is dear but they are remote.

Nice friendly people.

We had a dingo visit our camp but he was quite friendly but don't try patting it, it's a wild animal. It was just hungry but don't feed them either.

Stayed in here for one night on a bike trip. This spot is 780km west of Alice Springs and 1,160km north east of Kalgoorlie so its quite isolated. There is a well provisioned shop with hot food and cold drinks that supplies the local Aboriginal community as well as travellers. They also have basic accommodation in the form of older 1950's style shearers quarters which they call backpacker accommodation. Contained in two separate buildings each with about 5 rooms. Each room has 2 single beds with plenty of room. There are 4 motel style units available for around $150 per night however we didn't get to see these but they looked ok from the outside. The shower/amenities block is modern and approx 40 metres from the rooms. Cost was around $40 per bed. They also have a fully enclosed dinner area that is great to meet the other people staying there. We found the people running the roadhouse to be very accommodating and friendly.

Spent a night here on a trip along the Great Central Road. Didn't eat at roadhouse so can't comment on food, but everyone very friendly, and campground amenities very clean and spacious. Recommend for an overnight stop ..

Upon arrival our group of 11 ( 5 vehicles) were greeted by a lovely lady who was more than helpful when arranging our accommodation of rooms and powered sites.
The rooms were one of the cleanest we have seen while travelling. Shop stocked enough supplies. Washing machines and dryers located in amenities. We would visit there again.

The Asian woman serving was the rudest person we have met on our trip. Even though we had permits she refused to serve us. Give it a big miss and go to Warburton. They are friendlier and the indigenous art gallery is amazing. It doesn’t cost anything to be courteous.

Rooms were clean, well equipped with microwave and kettle, aircon and TV. Really good for the middle of nowhere and the shop was good as well. Get the guy at the shop to tell you some Dad jokes!
The camp kitchen is also well equipped. We parked outside and had no problems. The laundry is in the toilets if your lookking for it, spent ages wandering around!

The accommodation here has gone upmarket somewhat since our last visit in 2006.
The new motel rooms are quite spacious and well equipped. The camping area looked quite tidy with a large ablutions block. There also seemed to be more food offerings at the roadhouse.

Pitched a tent in the camping area. Nothing special but a popular stop over point for those traversing the Great Central Road. Friendly hosts at the roadhouse. Good camp kitchen with BBQ and a TV to watch. Pretty good for central Australia. Would recommend a nights stop for weary travellers.

No....Warakurna roadhouse is not in Esperance or even close. This little nugget is 115km from the Docker River community in the NT. Sure, it's in WA and adjacent to the Giles Meteorological Station but it runs on central standard time. The roadhouse has motel style accommodation with TV, fridge, and microwave. You can get Telstra mobile service only.....no WIFI. TV operates with a VAST set top box so you do get all the channels. My room had a great little ensuite (good water flow and instant hot) and a very comfortable queen bed. Be aware, the roadhouse closes at 5.00pm and doesn't open until the following day. You can pick up room keys until 8.00pm. Definitely stay out here again if I'm ever back in this part of the world.

As roadhouses go, hard to go past Warakurna in the far east of the Ngaanyatjarra Lands. Rooms are spacious - not donga style - clean and well appointed with handy kitchenette, including microwave. Pre-order dinner and a large tasty meal will be left on your fridge for heating up. Insulation not so great between rooms so if you have a loud talker/loud tv next door you'll be aware of it but a minor complaint.
BUT sure to book as far in advance as possible. Accommodation is limited and often booked up weeks in advance. Don't be fooled by the remoteness - accommodation is in high demand.

"If you are looking to have dinner provided ring ahead and book the day before so that they can get things ready. Also the roadhouse runs on Central Time not WA time so take that into consideration on your arrival time especially if travelling east as there is a 1.5 hour difference"
