My wife and I who are sixty spent 3 nights there last week. the staff was great and the yurt accomodations were very comfortable. The bathroom and shower issue was no problem - they were close to the yurts and very clean and nice. The most surprising thing was the quality of the food for lunch and dinner - they...

Thank you for your recent review. So glad you enjoyed our restaurants. As owners who live and work on site with our family and other staff, we take alot of pride in our two restaurant venues and enjoy dining there often ourselves.

but don't want to actually set up a tent and all that. Having said that, there are campsites here as well that I will want to check out next time I'm here with friends. I was originally going to book a yurt for just my parents, but when I saw how awesome the place was, I decided to third wheel...

This resort concept is slightly risky but Treebones pulls it off with flying colors! The yurts are clean, comfortable and spacious. The location offers a panoramic view of Big Sur's coast line as well as mountain peaks. The restaurant and sushi bar offer yummy options for lunch and dinner, and the complementary breakfast is abundant, fresh and delicious! The pool...

My wife always wanted to do this, so we took our daughter on a road trip. Easy drive from our first night in SLO. Stopped and saw the Sea Elephant rookery on the way. Great experience. We had the largest yurt with two queen beds. Very comfortable beds. Can't remember a better night sleep. Communal bathrooms were very clean Dinner...

We had so much fun staying in yurt #16, which is somewhat removed from the other yurts and therefore more private. The view from our deck was awesome. The gas fireplace, which was kind of touchy and lighted with a boom that rattled the glass door to the fireplace, warmed the yurt enough that we could take off our jackets....

The place is so cool, the ambience exceptional. We spent three nights camping, soaking in the spa, hanging in the lodge and making day trips from the area. We saw whales, went to Heast Castle, Esalan and generally had an excellent mi vacation.

Stayed in a mountain view yurt for one night yesterday. Initially reserved online a yurt and a campsite (for teenage kids), but got a call back saying kids under 18 not allowed to be at the campsite without an adult, so they moved us to a large yurt (for 4). The bathrooms are a 15 second walk away from the...

We love this retreat in Big Sur, which offers unparalleled ocean views, an unpretentious crowd, and cozy, well priced yurts. Breakfast is fantastic and we especially loved the A+ sushi dining from Carlos. This feels more like a Swiss retreat than an American glamping camp. We absolutely loved Treebones and recommend it unequivocally!

We drove from San Francisco to San Diego and had to stop in Bur Sur. Our friend told us that we should stay in a yurt. So we did a little research and found this place. We are so glad we did. The family that owns the place is so nice and accomodating. The grounds are beautiful, the views are...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Unusual and unique eco-lodge experience with immense expansive ocean views on Big Sur's remote and rugged South Coast. Guests enjoy cozy comforts in fully furnished tent-like yurts or choose a campsite and bring all their own tents/gear to camp. Resort 'feel' in rustic setting. Two popular restaurant venues with cozy, communal atmosphere boast great service, organic, locally sustained cuisine with same great views. Massage services, hiking information, and modern book & sundries store on premises. Sustainability statement: We are dedicated to providing an honest eco-experience. We are off grid and over 50% sustained by solar power. We recycle and utilize our onsite garden and chickens to complete a composting cycle. We are also human-sustained: Meaning..we serve tourists with our hearts and our hands and there are humans behind the service here..not robots! ... more   less
