What a strange experience we had here. Got in relatively late at night with my family and went to our 2-room family cabin.. The cabin was bare bones and very basic. Walls were pretty thin but could have been worse. Cleanliness was questionable; the heater was super dusty and my dad found a tissue behind some furniture. We found a... More

Relatively expensive for what is essentially a comfortable cabin in the woods, esp. as space is not particularly at a premium at the site – but they have a captive market so can price high. It seems a very popular day-trip/weekend destination. My room/cabin (#36) was entirely adequate – spacious and appointed with all the necessities; and good bathroom with... More

We spent 3 nights at Big Sur Lodge for our son's wedding. The cabins are spacious and up-to-date. We had a king bed with a sky light above the bed. The bathrooms are big and had a nice size shower. Outside were wild turkeys running around. The main Lodge was a short walk down the hill and offered very good... More

It's important to set the right expectations when you visit this place. $160 a night is certainly not cheap, and sure, that amount of money can get you a lot more in some cities, but this is Big Sur, and lodging is limited (and therefore) expensive here. Knowing that, you can come to appreciate what you do get- a very... More

My husband and I were here for a few days of relaxation with friends. Our room was large and comfortable although somewhat minimalistic (no tv, which was fine but the room could have used a comfortable reading chair). The hotel has spacious grounds set among beautiful redwood trees with lots of hiking trails in the area. There were turkeys wandering... More

We were very happy with our stay here. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful and the cabin was brilliant! The bed was very comfortable and the room was really spacious. There were a couple of things that could've been cleaner, but all in all it was a fabulous cabin in the most beautiful area. We had dinner in the... More

Took two rooms for $129 each without a fireplace and stayed for a night as a stop from LA to San Francisco. Excellent location, room was clean and spacious with a balcony. Really quiet with no TV which is good for this location, although wi-fi could have helped to keep planning our journey. I went with friends but will come... More

We stayed here one night on the way to LA from San Francisco. The room was $159 without a fireplace. It does not have a phone or tv. The room was clean and spacious. The shower head was very low. My husband is 6"3' and he had to really bend over to get under the shower head. There is a... More

Perfect location for a week in Big Sur. Close to trails, right in park. We had 5 people. Note that the largest cabins are 1 bedroom, 1 kitchen, 1 bathroom, and the front room is also the 2nd bedroom. So we all slept well but there was no common area to hang out other than the bedrooms. There is a... More
