Detailed Reviews
I previously submitted a review based on my first 24 hours at the hotel, but felt it necessary to now update this to be more constructive. At check-in and throughout my stay I had some service related issues that unfortunately missed the Jumeirah standard. I was able to feed these issues back to management and believe they genuinely cared to listen to such feedback in order to improve. The hotel has only officially opened and I believe the minor glitches will be rectified very soon.
The hotel grounds are one of the most stunning in the region. Muscat bay feels like a boutique hotel and you wouldn't expect there to be 200 rooms. The room is well designed and comfortable. Minor luxurious touches go a long way. Premium toiletries, phone charging points in the alarm, extensive in-room dining menu and a very very comfortable bed with pillow menu. The food is absolutely exceptional. It all tastes fresh from the sushi to the curry. The chefs are to be commended and we thoroughly looked forward to dining at peridot every evening. The pool was heated to a very comfortable temperature (not very common in most GCC hotels) and there was always a sun lounger available. We loved the small treats given around the pool from the frozen grapes, watermelon, power bank availability and sunglasses cleaning service.
Just finally a thanks to Raymond (he is a star of the hotel), Beny, Sheley, ramadhan (Ramadhan only joined the hotel recently but we would not know because he is perfect at his job) and himanshu for being great to deal with.
We will surely be back.

We’ve been visiting Oman regularly for many years , mainly staying at the Al Bustan Palace and Shangri La Al Husn. This year we thought we’d try the recently opened Jumeirah Muscat Bay for a change. Of course it’s new and the rooms lovely, bright, airy with all mod cons though storage in the rooms (draw space) was a bit lacking and badly designed wardrobes that required one door closed to open the other.Club access was nice with afternoon tea and early evening drinks and nibbles but it would benefit from a more prominent location as it felt as though it was tucked away a bit,out of the way at the end of the hotel. We usually like swimming, sunbathing & reading around a poolside but the 3 pools here don’t really facilitate that. The main pool, though visually attractive wasnt very big and only waist deep with only 6 cabana type areas for sunbathing, mostly shaded by slatted wood. Ok if you dont mind a stripey suntan! The other 2 pools were quite small and seemed to attract families with children so weren’t the most peaceful, relaxing areas. That left the beach which was nice if you managed to bag sunloungers with parasols but that was sometimes a little difficult with towels being placed early and tying up sunloungers for many hours before anyone appeared. I heard a number of people complaining about this and hotel management need to put a stop to this annoying practice! The beach would also benefit from some more access paths in addition to the steps at either end.The nearest toilets to the beach, although clean, were accessed down some steps along a busy passageway near the restaurant/bar busy with waiters coming and going. Not ideal. The beach was nice, though whilst there we saw an abundance of dead puffer fish washed up everyday and although cleared quite quickly and no fault of the hotel it wasn’t pleasant to see. My husband enjoys waterskiing- the guys at the hut on the beach quoted 60 OMR (about £125) for 30mins. He declined. Maybe a more reasonable price would result in a better take up? The Brezza bar was a great place to sit & enjoy some sundowners. The Peridot and Zuka restaurants were nice, food great and plentiful choices but service throughout was a bit hit and miss & needs to be addressed. Breakfast orders were served incorrectly on several occasions, cutlery missing from table and just a feeling that some of the waiters (not all) were struggling a little to understand what was being asked for.
Overall we enjoyed our holiday but we probably wouldn’t return to Jumeirah Muscat Bay, preferring the service and setting, pool and beach areas of the other more established hotels in the area.

Jumeirah Muscat Bay goes above & beyond expectations. This hotel has the best location in the city. Its secluded, feels private, and the bay has an extraordinary scenery. It’s just perfect.
We were always greeted with a big smile from the valet guys and Jaifar the bill boy, so special thanks for that, it gave a welcoming feeling. Also, I would like to emphasize the helpfulness and flexibility of Zariy at the reception desk. We arrived very early morning and he could still arrange us the rooms and breakfast. He even arranged at the checkout some delicious dates as a gift, which we really appreciated. The breakfast food selection is perfect, and the team is extremely professional. Special thanks to Dhalia and Susie for always greeting and serving us with a smile, as well as the guy at the waffle station for taking the time every time to decorate our delicious waffles. The cleaning crew must be emphasized as well because our rooms were spot on every day. We had a room for 3 sisters, so imagine the mess they had to deal with.. They even made special animal decorations out of towels on my birthday. Such a nice move! The hotel even provided us with complimentary birthday cake. In addition, they also provided us some sweets and fruits in our room with handwritten letters, which made us feel very welcomed. As we were long-staying guests we were even offered discount for brunch and dinner occasions. At the pool the crew was always extremely attentive e.g. when we wanted to move the sunbeds to the shade, or asked for beach balls. And the complimentary ice creams and snacks were delicious! Special thanks to the guy with the glasses he was always paying attention to us with a smile.
The Anzo bar has all the alcoholic drinks you need. The bartender even made us special apple martinis that were not on the menu. The gym is well equipped. We also tried the tennis court. Special thanks for the lady at the gym reception for being so flexible as we arrived late in the evening.

This is another Jumeirah gem. We stayed for 8 nights and can therefore review with objectivity and can make honest comparisons to other Jumeirah group hotels.
The location of the hotel in its own perfectly sized bay with spectacular ocean views from the lobby, swimming pool and every guest room is perfect - you can appreciate that the architects have prioritised the unique bayside setting in the property layout/design and it works perfectly on every level
The standout compared to other Jumeirah hotels is the staff at Muscat Bay - everyone who we met was wonderful and made our stay memorable with the faultless and attentive service. Too many staff to callout individually but the F&B team at Anzo and Tarini took excellent care of us every evening as did the Pool/Beach team. Special mention also goes Vishal in housekeeping who made up our room perfectly twice daily and we appreciated that. The team in Pierdot restaurant were very attentive at breakfast and made us feel special.
The rooms are new and spacious and spotlessly clean. They are well designed, have excellent amenities and ambience. The pictures attached are of our room <613>. Overall our room was faultless.
We used the Hotel limo transfer from the Airport which was efficient and comfortable and easily arranged via the front desk. The gym was new and reasonably well equipped but I was unable to participate in any complimentary yoga classes as the instructor was on holiday during our stay. The concierge team were particularly helpful and advised on a local cycling and hiking tour which was appreciated and exactly what I was looking for. The dive centre offers a range of trips and we went on a combination dolphin/ snorkelling activity which was a fabulous morning activity expertly and safely guided by Sarah. The Talise spa which I used on alternate days is available for guests and contains a sauna and steam room, very clean and appeared new.
There are just two areas we thought could be improved where our benchmark comparison is other Jumeirah hotels (1) the evening food experience was lacking on a few evenings in terms of taste/presentation (2) we also found the ambience and decor of the restaurants inferior compared to other Jumeirah locations
Overall we had a wonderful break - if you are looking for time to recharge your batteries in a wonderful beach front location with high quality rooms and super staff then this is a jewel in the Jumeriah crown. Oman is a pleasant contrast to the UAE and we are looking to return again soon

We stayed in this hotel during soft opening (and missed nothing)!
What makes the resort special are extremely honest-friendly employees who want to fulfill every wish! They all want you to have a perfect stay!
+ approx. 30 min. from airport Muscat (20 OMR with taxi), so you can combine sightseeing and relaxation
+ appetizing breakfast buffet with great juice selection but nearly no shaded seating on the terrace
+ all rooms facing the ocean with fantastic views, hotel is beautiful
+ fine sand at the beach, no stones, crystal clear and warm water
+ great double sunbeds with comfortable mattress and big umbrellas
+ very good food quality at dinner, but high prices for drinks (e.g. Corona 16 Euro, bottle of rose wine 67 Euro incl all taxes)
+ nice room, large bathroom, terrace could be bigger from my point of view (comes with 2 chairs and a table)
+ well equipped Gym
+ everything clean
+ some good spots nearby reachable with taxi (e.g. fishing village, Marina)
Overall a fantastic stay with top staff!

My partner and I stayed here for 4 days and had the best experience ever. Both of us have stayed at 5* star hotel prior to this but Jumeirah at Muscat Bay really topped it. From arrival to departure and everything in between we could not come up with any faults. They were ever so kind to check us in early due to our flight landing earlier than planned, our room was ready and even a little cake for my partners birthday was organised in the room. We had room 202 with a sea view which was a great location, only 1 flight of stairs and your pretty much on the beach and a few mins walk your at the breakfast hall. All the staff were so lovely and helpful and gave us genuine advice for anything we asked about outside of the hotel. Mukesh on the beach was an absolute star, he really went above and beyond, always greeted us warmly and had a lot of local knowledge. Vivek really looked after us at breakfast and gave us top quality service.
The hotel has a couple of restaurants be advised to book in advance and not on the day as they do get busy. Barista was lovely food and a nice roof top vibe. Anzo was also great we enjoyed Sushi here. Drinks are very expensive but worth it as cocktails were delicious. The breakfast was served in the peridot hall and was amazing, so much choice and so much fresh hot food available.
The beach was never crowded and the staff always helped us find a spot that suited our needs of wanting sun and shade. My only draw back is the sand itself in the sea, a lot of puffer fish get swept up and the spikes are left everywhere, my feet were pricked a few times and was super painful but this would not stop me returning. Perhaps more regular cleaning of the beach through the day may help.

The hotel is located on a beautiful bay with a lovely sandy beach and plenty of comfortable loungers with huge sunshades. The beach staff are great, bringing you towels and a cool bag filled with bottles of cold water as soon as you appear. They also brought around some fruit and small shot glasses of refreshing drinks from time to time.
Our room was fabulous, modern and immaculately clean with high tech features and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The gym is well equipped with new machines and a studio provides plenty of space for yoga etc.
we upgraded to a package which gave us access to the Club Lounge where we had afternoon tea in place of lunch and they serve drinks and a small selection of food between 6pm and 8pm. The staff here are superb and looked after us so well - a credit to the hotel.
Breakfast buffet was excellent with hot choices changing on a daily basis and very friendly and efficient service from the staff. Eggs are cooked freshly and brought to your table.
The only area for improvement was the Friday brunch which we ended up cancelling having looked at what was on offer. It was really no different from the regular evening buffet apart from some of the stations had been moved outside. I think they could do a little better here.
Food and drink is expensive but that’s the same anywhere in Oman.
A very well run hotel with outstanding staff which feels like it has been open longer than it has. We really enjoyed our stay.

We are currently staying in this establishment (from April 26 to May 5) and it is not at the level of the Jumeirah chain
Our experience at this establishment was mixed.
Check in was perfect
Unfortunately, several aspects did not live up to our expectations. First of all, the transfer to the hotel was included because we are loyal to the Jumeirah gold member chain but they wanted to charge us for it, I had to remind them because they did not offer me this service unlike in Dubai and other jumeirah in the world, which was disappointing.
the cleaning of the rooms was not carried out regularly, we arrived in the room in the afternoon and nothing was done even though we had left it at 8 a.m.
The evening passage was imprecise.
Children's pool was often dirty, with an obvious lack of attention from the lifeguard.
Unlike the Dubai jumeirah, the absence of sunscreen provided was an inconvenience in case you forgot your cream,
the beach which was not properly maintained since our arrival but, we witnessed a cleaning of the last 2 days unfortunately before our eyes because in the middle of the day, the staff were carrying huge stones weighing around ten kilos on their heads and digging holes without proper equipment in oppressive heat
Customers do not want to see this when we are relaxing on a deckchair in front of them
Regarding the catering, the professionalism of the cooks in the kitchen left something to be desired, with frequent omissions or pasta not well cooked, the buffet was also not very varied, repetitive and not qualitative enough, but I salute the professionalism and kindness of all the waiters as well as the dirty chef Mr. Mina who are always very professional and anticipated every need of their customer
The food at Brezza was extraordinary, with excellent service
The kids club was good with good care for our children
The big disappointment was the staff in charge of the swimming pool
They were unprofessional, not present enough, the lifeguards were a real disaster, not worthy of the other jumeirahs
The pool attendants sometimes forget the towels and favor other customers.
The dirty deckchair mattresses have not been put away, the toilets (only 1 out of 3 which works, the one intended for the disabled) since our arrival
It is imperative that this establishment looks at its negative points
The pool attendants next to the activity kiosk who promise to come back to you for information about the activities but forget you (twice)
Despite these negative aspects, the rooms were pleasant, offering a magnificent view, and the catering system, whether buffet or a la carte, was well organized. However, these positive points are not enough to compensate for the many encountered during our stay which absolutely must be corrected.

When I reached out to Lotus Group, trading as Dial A Flight, to put together an itinerary, they recommended The Jumeirah Muscat Bay, for which I am most grateful because from the moment of arrival to departure my daughter and I had an exceptional experience and as I live in the GCC will return for a further break in the autumn.
The Club Room was delightful with excellent views of the bay, the club lounge was very strong with excellent breakfast and afternoon tea offerings of the highest quality. But to retreat I most also pay tribute to the attentive and unfussy service offered by Abdulaleem Shaikh on concierge who organised our half day trip to Muscat. Those pre arrival moments are key to building an image of reliability and client centred service. The tour with Wahab was first class with visits to the Grand Mosque, The Royal Opera House and Omani Museum of History.
We ate at Peridot on the first night and whilst I cordially dislike buffet service this one was the exception and in part due to the presence of the F & B manager and our waitress who helped ensure we found the very best eating options ensuring the Peridot buffet was definitely the exception to the rule. Manni the F & B manager did his brand a great deal of good and our conversation showed there was a meeting of minds as to the recognition of the challenges, which is half the battle, in hospitality. It was the kind of conversation where management are visible and provides an important opportunity to build a brand relationship with their clients.
Much the same was true with the delightful reception where the ladies on duty not only displayed a 'joie de vie' but were very much 'the safe pair of hands' that provide confidence.
The only constructive observation I would make is as the day evolves the Beach seating area looks tired. This would be easily remedied if the team cleared all the Towels once guests had left and repositioned the loungers neatly.
In retrospect the visit was far to short. I plan to return and take the opportunity to hike at Wadi Shah and scuba dive as well as enjoy Peridot, the Club Lounge and the superb Brezza.

I am currently staying at Jumeirah Muscat Bay and i can vouch wholeheartedly do not hesitate to book!! You will not be disappointed!
Checkin was a breeze with Najma and Mr Navinol! (Thankyou both of you for excellent rooms). We got a family suite with outer-connecting rooms which was secure to leave the rooms open with the outer door closed. The room is huge with a nice lounge and massive bathroom suite! Decor is fantastic and very modern and feels 5*!
They are currently serving ala carte at breakfast in Peridot. The eggs benedict was by far the best i have had in the UAE!! Well done Chef!
Poolside food is also very nice! Mina the manager paid extra attention to ensure he got feedback from us, we provided some feedback regarding “chicken nuggets” and felt a little embarrassed as they made a huge fuss over such a small thing. This is Jumeirah and one thing i know they will not let it go until we are satisfied and the next day when we re-ordered the nuggets they were made completely differently exactly to our liking! Like always they listen and act on feedback! Thankyou Mr Mina and your pool team!
Dinner was also very very nice, butter chicken and biryani were a hit with everyone! The sticky date pudding is a must!!!
We are hoping to try the afternoon tea one of the days!!
We are staying a few more nights but i just wanted to write a review for everyone who is thinking of booking, book now! You will not be disappointed. I am a huge Jumeirah fan and will always try to stay in the Jumeirah hotels when in the UAE. They listen and the service is truly 5*!!
Well done everyone and keep it up! Look forward to coming again next year!!

The temperatures in Oman in summer are approximately between 30 and 36 degrees.

“Hello,
I’m sorry, I’m not familiar with the details. I just enjoy visiting their lobby, where the view is amazing.”
To be honest I did not check in person but I believe it is open. There is small stand just when you go to the beach (where you can get your towels) and there was always somebody there from the diving club. As we are not divers, we did not check but we did see people coming of the boat…..so I guess…..🤷♂️
