We stayed here for one night on the way to Cornwall, great location in a part of Dartmoor we didn't know. Very comfortable clean and warm room. Extremely friendly and helpful staff and we had an extremely good dinner. The house red wine is very good!

The Moorland Hotel is, not unsurprisingly, on the Moor, Dartmoor that is. The last few miles of the journey were interesting, to say the least, with narrow lanes and passing places, but it is well worth it for the welcome on arrival. The staff were brilliant, the location is excellent with views of Dartmoor on one side, and the sea... More

We stayed here for two nights in the Wotter Room. The photos of the room on the main website for the hotel doesn't do it justice! For the price paid, it was fantastic value. It's a very large room, I think it sleeps up to a family of four, but we stayed as a couple so there were two nice... More

The area is lush around the Moorland hotel yet don't lets the hotels outside appearance put you off. The family room we were in was modern and very clean, and had a view to die for. The breakfast was of great quality and plentiful. Good choice of Local ale in the bar also. Great stay.

We were delighted from the moment we arrived till our departure. Most comfortable room, spotlessly clean. Well designed bathroom and large fluffy towels. The welcome tray had everything one needed The view from our bedroom window stunning and a joy to wake up to. The staff without exception were very pleasant and there was a real feel good factor about... More

Stayed for two nights in November. Room was comfortable and clean with tea, coffee and hot choc, with fresh milk provided on request. Linen and towels were clean and included large bath sheets. Free Wi-Fi which was useful in a poor signal area, could do with a few more sockets for charging purposes tho. Lovely views across the moor to... More

The hotel was comfortable without being over-smart. Not the prettiest of buildings but we didn't spend our time sitting outside admiring the architecture. Dogs are very welcome. Staff are very pleasant. Food is very good, and good value.

Helpful and friendly staff and Management. Fantastic fresh food cooked to perfection. Will return again and highly recommend it. Just remember you are staying on the Moor not in a city style hotel. Quality of the food is the quality of a high class restaurant.

We returned to the Moorland Hotel Restaurant to celebrate my wife's ** (censored) Birthday, having eaten there on previous occasions. The welcome and the food is always good there and we ordered our meal with anticipation. Unfortunately, the 16oz steak that I ordered was sinewy and disappointing and I called a waitress to send it back. Now, in many establishments,... More
