Just home from staying there for our 38th Wedding Anniversary. Wow! Truly humbling rainforest nature experience. Enough to bring you to tears. Please do yourself and loved ones a favour and go!!! We bought some of the breakfast and dinner hamper packages. Amazing food with big serves. Upgrading the games room soon too apparently. Hope to be back again in the future!!!

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights on the way home from our wedding.
Our stay was nothing short of amazing!!
From the drive in we were blown away, the tranquil ambiance of the property was amazing! We literally didn’t see another guest during our stay and this added to peaceful private feeling of the place.

We stayed in the Pandorea Glass Terrace Bungalow. It was so good that it had its own private parking, it made it so easy with luggage.

The Bungalow was spotlessly clean and spacious and definitely had a luxury feel. The small extras really stood out to us, like the candle to take home, the slippers and robes, the tea light candles everywhere, the complementary chocolates, bottle of wine and welcome card upon arrival all contributed to the 5 star feel. The outdoor shower, the spa and double fire place we’re highlights while all of the glass windows made us feel like we were in the rainforest!!

We ordered food hampers and would highly recommend everyone do this, there was so much food! The dinner hampers come with instructions on how to reheat or cook which we followed to a T and turned out perfectly, the Spanish lamb and the Seafood upgrade were both delicious!

We did all of the walks on the property during our stay, we do a lot of walking. These were beautiful and so tranquil. I particularly loved the walk that went around the creek, it’s like fairyland! The lookout walk had a lot of steps anyone doing this walk definitely take a walking pole (which is provided) as it definitely helped on the way back down and probably is not for the fainthearted. After the walks we swam in creek which was refreshing and revitalising!! Using Hammocks over the creek was so tranquil and meditative and my favourite part of the stay! Definitely a little slice of Heaven 💙

We came for our honeymoon and we couldn’t had been happier . The meals were flavourful and cooked to perfection.
We did 3/4 bush walks and enjoyed our afternoons by the fire watching movies.
The staff were exceptional, they offered the full service but also provided us with the perfect level of privacy and respect.
I am so happy we booked here and will definitely be returning.

Little tip - pack comfortable walking clothes and prepare to get a little dirty. Some of the tracks can be challenging but are very achievable for even a casual bush Walker.

Also remember to pack snacks!

For over $1000 per night, it is not worth it. We didn't get our value for money and won't be coming back. Great setting and amazing privacy, but zero service. Wash your own dishes, cook your own food, walk 500m to reception in stinking heat. No alcoholic beverages or any sort of drinks apart from a bottle of bubbly on day 1 and some orange juice.

Dear AAs, We are confused by your review. We are a luxury Couples Retreat, offering guests seclusion and privacy; for Romantic getaways. Our rates are $430 to $795 per night; which is in a Luxury Mountain View lodge with private pool. (This is the absolute maximum peak rate tariff.) All our accommodation is private and individual, with dishwashers, for guests to use. To give our guests maximum privacy, we do not service the accommodation every day. We do service on stays of 3 nights or more. We have a full menu, which offers private dining in your accommodation or guests may self-cater. You were given a bottle of Moët & Chandon on arrival, plus orange juice, endless teas, coffees and pure water. Most guests BYO and we are licensed, for guest convenience. For the sake of privacy and seclusion; all our accommodation is spread out; guests can drive to all the lodges and the bungalows and cabins are with into 200 metres, of reception. With kind regards, Mark van Renen General Manager Crystal Creek Rainforest Retreat

This was our second visit to Crystal Creek. We stayed in the cedar lodge. The room was super dirty when we checked in, kitchen and utensils, benches etc were all dirty and oily, and our bed linen was dirty and had makeup on it. Thankfully the lady who came to fix it up was lovely and cleaned it all as quickly as possible.

We had to ask for spare towels but there were no hand towels, mats or face cloths and by that point I couldn’t be bothered to ask for more to be dropped down.

It was pretty rainy and the muddy driveway was slippery so my gf’s car got destroyed and we were woken up early to quickly get out on the last day because of the heavy rains so we missed half a day at the lodge.

The cedar lodge was really disappointing compared to the last time we stayed. I’m really upset by the whole experience and probably won’t book again. Given the price and the experience from similar places I guess I had higher hopes. I cannot express how upset I am by how dirty the room was and the whole experience.

We had planned to go once or twice a year but probably won’t now.

The cedar lodge had a nicer view than the Lamington cabin we stayed in last time and the pool is heated. The outside area is covered and a little larger and it seems more private where the other cabins are quite close together.

However, inside, the design is not as nice as the other cabins. There is no where to put your luggage and one tiny bathroom sink with no where for things to go. Annoyingly there’s no door on the toilet so it all echos throughout the entire place and you can’t use the bathroom without waking up your partner. For some reason the shower is at kidney height !?!? In the other cabins the bathroom floor is also heated but not in the cedar lodge.

In the cedar lodge, the Kitchen had no pantry or anywhere to put food which was also irritating when you’re self catering.

The basics are provided which is lovely, oil, salt, bug spray, torch, tea, plenty of coffee pods and tea lights for romantic settings etc. glad wrap was provided but ours was empty. I’d suggest packing some containers, Alf oil etc if you’re cooking there.

The massages were amazing, probably the best part of the entire trip.

We stayed 3 nights in this beautiful retreat. Staff were very friendly and keen to please. Normally I love to get the room made up each day but here your privacy is what they are offering so you really can get away from it all. The standard of accommodation is very high and we had the pleasure and privilege of watching the full moon rise over the rainforest while we were having dinner at our dining table. An unforgettable experience. We stayed in one of the bungalows. Not cheap but you get full value for what you pay. Thanks to you all at CCRR.

From check-in to check-out everything was amazing! Mark, thank you so much for being an informative and accomodating host. Our stay was part of our honeymoon a wonderful two nights spent in a Luxury Mountain View Lodge. This was definitely the most memorable part to our trip. Travelling from the South Coast (Shellharbour) we did the brunt of the trip on the first day with a one night stop over in Coffs Harbour. This allowed us to wake up relaxed with only a few hours left to travel to the retreat. We upgraded to the ultimate rainforest honeymoon package and I must say it was well worth the extra money. From the gifts, candles, rose petals strewn throughout the lodge... to the delicious food! The portions... very generous even for a husband that eats a lot! Having our meals included in the package was very beneficial. This took out the time required to plan, shop and cook our dinners. All breakfast items were delicious and we opted to cook on the gas stovetop. The picnic lunch was also very tasty! I saved a portion of my sandwich for the drive home the next day due to the portion size! The weather was beautiful when we visited with warmth during the middle of the day and short rainfall in the morning and afternoon. If anything, rainfall enhances the experience! We ventured out of the lodge when the weather was lovely and did the rainforest walk! Also, bring some cash. There’s a lovely little house near the retreat which sells crystals out the front. I was fortunate to at least have a 20 on me however I really wish I had more! Thank you for providing us with an amazing experience and thankful we decided on a honeymoon in our very own state! We are very much looking forward to coming back, taking on a more difficult walk, opting for the food to be included and to experience ultimate bliss once again.

We had a great time over 2 nights, private area on the property, our own pool, the apartments are beautiful! We took food with us because a single hamper didn't suit us personally and it was too expensive to buy 2 complete hampers. We were happy to use the fully functional kitchen, plus BBQ outside over looking our pool and yard. The bath was fantastic, overlooking the valley.

We took Movies up from the library and enjoyed the quiet time. There was an opportunity to go check out the glow worms or go along one of the hiking tracks but we stayed in due to the slightly wet weather and I was babying a foot injury so didn't want to risk sliding down the hill!

Would definitely be recommending this accommodation.

This place is amazing, we stayed three nights in one of the cabins, it was perfect. The food was delicious- we ended up ordering food for each night, huge portions and yummy desserts. The breakfast we ordered easily covered two breakfasts! There are lots or lovely little touches, you have everything you need, we just loved our stay. We did a couple of the walks, the Lookout is strenuous but worth the view, we took a picnic. We saw the glowworms but not the ghost fungi. We left feeling rejuvenated and relaxed. We definitely will go back, maybe in the summer and have a dip in the creek. The hammocks across the creek are such a sweet place to chill.

Stayed 2 nights. Truely amazing luxury resort set among the bush.

We stayed in the Byron which is designated a mountain lodge. It has spectacular views over the rain forest to the mountains.

The lodge is spectacular in its fittings and furnishings with timber, marble , and glass everywhere. The lodge is huge as well. It rivals some of the best lodges we have stayed in South Africa, minus the lions etc.

Loved the plunge pool overlooking the mountains.

And sitting on the glorious deck as the sun goes down with a wine over dinner in the tranquility and isolation of the bush was wonderful.

It is very quiet and peaceful; perfect place to relax and unwind.

The walks are excellent as well.

A truely wonderful experience.

Hi, You are right that the Mountain View Lodge pools are solar heated and will not be warm enough in winter. They do have amazing views and big two person marble bath which also has great views. The pool at Cedar Lodge will be about 28 degrees (please note that it is not an outdoor Jacuzzi). The Glass Terraces are always very popular. We are fairly heavily booked so it will depend on what is available on the dates you would like to visit. \ Please do not hesitate to contact our reception if you have any queries.
