Detailed Reviews
Wonderful, well kept grounds were a pleasure to walk around, but the massive bonus was being right on the beach. Our room was an ocean front suite which looked out to the West, giving us some amazing views of the sun setting. It was also great to see the blue blue sea from our bed as well as from our deck. The room itself was large and very well appointed. The bath (not used) must have been big enough to take 4 people and the shower about 6 people! There were "his and her" sinks and a really nice touch was the "pillow menu" which allowed you to choose from a range of pillows. We slept like logs ! We were impressed with all the staff, who were friendly, attentive and efficient. Apart from breakfast, we tended to eat out although on one evening, we had room service, which was excellent. Another nice touch was that the mini bar was complimentary and re-stocked every day, including beers. This hotel has a great location, near to local bars and restaurants and with easy access to other parts of Khao Lak. We were very pleased to have stayed here.

Had 6 nights here at the end of a Thailand tour. Very good hotel, rooms great, exceptionally comfy beds. Buffet breakfast was one of the best we have experienced with fantastic choice to meet all needs. Towels freely available, loungers round pool and on the beach, no issues in securing in February. Sea lovely temperature. Lots of good local restaurants available for evening which were a short stroll away, although food quality at the hotel beach restaurant was excellent. Service great across the hotel. Very good all round.

On arrival we felt welcomed. The staff were very welcoming. We randomly got upgraded to a villa as well which is awesome.
When entering the villa we liked the look of it. The bathroom looks very nice with a jacuzzi. The cupboard where the coffee is kept and that area with safe and to hang clothes looks nice too.
The location is great. The beach is very nice. The staff are happy and try and help as much as they can.
Free massages were awesome. Pool is awesome. Towels are available on the beach and pool area. Beach is maintained, the whole resort is well maintained.
Breakfast is very nice, many options to choose from.
I say for the price we paid and additionally upgraded, massages included this was definitely worth it.
Cons:
The food was a let down. As we arrived we had a meal as we were hungry. I ordered a thai red curry which came yellow, wife ordered a chicken burger and chips. The curry isn't fresh, not great tasting as you get in restaurants and the burger was mediocre. After this we just ate outside as all restaurants are close by.
Water is left in the villa, around 4 bottles. But we drink alot more than this. That's 4 bottles including the ones for brushing teeth. Paying for bottles of water is understandable but 80 baht for 500ml isnt. We walked to the closest store 5 mins walk and he gave us 6 litres for 100 baht.
The spa and free massages are great. Only issue is that when you get into the room they ask you to take your clothes off, they don't leave, they watch you and then ask you to lay on the bed. For us we normally get clothing for a thai massage, they leave we dress and they come back. Or for oil they still leave and ask you to lay in bed.
Towels in the spa on the beds and the ones we got covered with in the massage area are greasy and should be cleaned properly before reuse.

I would strongly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Khao Lak.
The hotel is spotless, the staff are friendly and welcoming, breakfast included a large variety of different food and there were plenty of sunbeds both immediately behind the beach and round the pool.
The majority of hotel guests were German or Scandinavian but everyone was friendly and happy to talk with us.
If you do stay try the Gimme 5 restaurant across the road from reception. The food was authentic and spiced to your requirements.
One minor quibble - on two days our room had not been made up by 3.00 in the afternoon but we were provided with clean towels immediately when we rang reception.
All in all on of the nicest places I have stayed in Thailand and I have been visiting for over 30 years.

After all the pain and disruption caused by Covid19 it was great to once again stay at Ramada Khao Lak.
We found it to still be the superb hotel we remember it being. A few little changes made it it better than we remember. Transferring breakfast to Sassi's Beach Restaurant is a great move. It is so nice to sit in comfortable surroundings with a great view of the beach and sea. It was also nice to find Nont as reservations manager. We remember him from La Flora next door and found him to once again be a very helpful and caring person.
Our trip started with the mandatory isolation whilst our PCR test result was determined. This gave us time to unpack and sleep after our long journey and 5 and a half hours later we were released after our negative results came through.
We were in a room with 2 Queen sized beds which were quite comfortable and found the room quite big enough with quite adequate storage space. The room had a separate shower and bath and it was very roomy.
Coffee making equipment, mini fridge, hairdryer and large flat screen TV also complimented the room. Owing to Covid19 you had the option to determine how often you wanted your room cleaned and the bedding and towels changed. Our cleaner was excellent and we often saw her and was able to communicate our needs to her. Indeed all staff were fantastic and we had warm relations with all reception, restaurant and bar staff who very quickly new your likes and needs. Breakfast was great with a huge selection on offer. We only ate dinner once in the Sassi's restaurant but it was lovely and very reasonably priced. Happy hour at Sassi's was daily from 4pm - 5:30pm were a selection of cocktails were 2 for 1. We loved the Ramada, which has a great position on Bangniang Beach, close to all shops and restaurants. We found it to be an extremely peaceful hotel and would go back in a heartbeat.

Had a 3 week trip to Thailand and Vietnam with my partner.
The final leg of the trip was 8 nights at the Ramada in Khao Lak. This package was bought through luxuary Escapes who I've used a number of times successfully.
The Ramada hotel is not one I would recommend. We've stayed at Kalima and the Marriott at Khao Lak and would recommend either place 10 times over.
Pros - limited. Room cleaning staff were amazing. 2 x staff, Noor and Nun were professional, warming and genuine nice people and we loved dealing with them.
Cons - The rudest, least hospitable person who goes by the name Boom Boom. She is obviously in a job she hates and hospitality isn't her thing.
The hotel we stayed in Vietnam in hoi an was $45 a night including breakfast and it was an older building but well kept. My point, they didn't have the luxury pool and restaurant overlooking the ocean but what they had in bucket loads was friendly, efficient staff.
Our view on the Ramada was that bad that we will never visit Khao Lak again.

This was our second visit to The Ramada Khao Lak. We received a very warm welcome from the ladies in reception and our cases were taken to our room very quickly.
The room was very spacious overlooking the beautiful gardens. The room was kept very clean daily by the staff.
The buffet breakfast was exceptional and of a very high quality. Many thanks to " Long" for cooking my eggs every morning.
We had 2 meals at the hotel which were of a very high standard. There are also many good family restaurants outside the hotel.
There are plenty of sun beds on the beach and around the pool, but some guests still rise at 06-00 to obtain the beds in certain locations. There is NO need to do this. The attendant "Toh" does an exceptional job trying to keep everyone happy.
Finally if you have the chance to visit this hotel go to the Mellow Bean Coffee Shop and sample afternoon tea. Our thanks go to Aui, Bee and Mind for the service they provided. The tea's and cheesecake were lovely all served in an air condition cafe.
Many thanks to all the staff you were great.
Will we be back?
Of course

We stayed from December 10 to 22, 2023, room 5302, in this establishment located in the Khao Lak area, an area which extends over 35km, more precisely in the village of Bang Niang. The hotel is very well located, quiet, but still having all the shops, restaurants, bars, mini-markets, etc. right outside. The premises are very clean, a very beautiful garden, a large swimming pool and the beach are part of this human-sized complex, with 2-story buildings and villas. Our room, 42 m2, located on the second level, with jacuzzi bath, balcony, and view of the garden and the sea, was very comfortable and functional. The cleaning was done perfectly during the day and someone came by again in the evening, around 6 p.m., to leave a little attention, cakes or sweets, and to check that we were missing nothing. Two restaurants, one for breakfast, and a restaurant bar adjoining the beach, for meals throughout the day. We cannot give an opinion on the catering because we took our meals outside in the village, everything being within walking distance. On the other hand, the breakfasts were very good, complete, lots of choice, continental and Thai, fresh fruit juice, nothing to say, perfect. The staff is friendly. We also enjoyed the massages provided at the SPA. A taxi rank is located 100m from the hotel and offers trips to the surrounding area with prices displayed. For more distant excursions, I recommend “Excursions Thailand”, an agency run in the center of the village by a Frenchman who offers excursions in French and in small groups. We did the Similan and Surin islands with him and it was very good, however you have to get up early to have peace of mind at the snorkeling sites. In the region, 10km from the hotel, is one of the most beautiful temples in Thailand, a must-see. Otherwise, if you don't dine at the hotel, just at the exit, there is the “Give me Five” restaurant, if the smile is not there, the dishes are excellent, and it is not expensive, and further towards the center of the village, “Le Mali”, a permanent smile accompanying very good dishes and “Siam”, right next door. We had a great stay in this very beautiful hotel in a very good location.

I stayed at the resort for 10 days in Feb 2020. The hotel was very modern and clean as was the room. The hotel has lovely gardens plenty of sunbeds around a great pool and easy access to the beach with sunbathing areas. Housekeeping was especially good and very efficient. The breakfast in the hotel was excellent with plenty of choice we didn't find the lunch time food every appealing and it was overpriced compared to some excellent restaurants right on the hotel doorstep. The one occasion we did eat lunch the area totally lacked atmosphere and the waitress forgot our order bringing out lukewarm food eventually. The outside bar again lacked any ambiance and so there was no encouragement to use it. The hotel is in a good location with numerous good restaurant and bars nearby.
