Our stay at Devasom Khao Lak Beach Resort & Villas was simply fantastic. From the first moment we felt the special atmosphere of this resort – a mixture of luxury, tranquility and warm hospitality.
Our room was beautifully designed, with a spacious terrace and views of the pool. The facilities were high quality, tasteful and left nothing to be desired. We particularly appreciated the small details that made the stay so enjoyable – from the comfortable seating on the terrace to the daily refilled minibar with complimentary soft drinks.
Breakfast was an absolute highlight! An excellent selection of fresh, high-quality food – from exotic fruits to delicious pastries and hot dishes. Here, a lot of emphasis is placed on quality and presentation. We only booked breakfast so we didn't visit the resort's restaurants, but the morning buffet alone exceeded our expectations.
We would particularly like to highlight the extremely friendly and helpful pool staff. Every wish was literally read from our lips. One employee – I think his name was Boa ? – was exceptionally dedicated and always on hand with a smile. Such warmth is rarely experienced!
The entire complex is an oasis of relaxation. The pool area is fantastically beautiful, perfectly maintained and invites you to linger. The location directly on the fine sandy beach is also a plus – ideal for long walks and relaxing hours by the sea.

Devasom Khao Lak, Kawee and staff, Wow. The Devasom Khao Lak is a wonderful relaxing laidback place ideal for quietly recharging the batteries in the most beautiful location. Paddle down the river alongside the hotel in one of the provided canoes or paddle boards and catch a glimpse of some local wildlife or head out along the shoreline all at your own pace, it really is lovely and during our stay in March, very hot🌞but it’s good to know that a cooling dip in the infinity pool awaits your return.
As well as the restaurants in the hotel, which served great quality food and we found to be great for lunch but expensive for evening meals, there are a few beachside eateries that are great for an evening meal and drink whilst watching the sun go down. The Devasom also provide a free old coach service into Khao Lak centre where there is a lovely night market with loads of good bars with street food or restaurants. If you stay late a taxi back will cost you 300 baht we have done this loads of times and not once has a taxi driver tried to rip us off, always 300 baht.
As for the Devasom hotel itself the rooms are spacious and very clean, with lovely showers, coffee machine in room and a free fridge apart from alcohol. breakfast is lovely providing food for almost every nationality and dietary need.
Around the pool, management and pool staff are constantly supplying you with free bottles of chilled drinking water and cooling fresh fruit treats they really can’t do enough for you, and they are so friendly and welcoming.
The garden grounds are immaculate with lovely trees and flowers, providing a habitat for all sorts of birds, butterflies, lizards, geckos and some small striped squirrels.
But the crowning glory of the Devasom are the staff themselves they are a wonderfully friendly and caring group of people who are always working incredibly hard to make your holiday stress free and enjoyable, no matter what role they have, be it drivers, gardeners, domestic staff, kitchen, reception, poolside or hotel management, they all get involved and I’m sure they love it when guests try to use a few words in Thai to express their gratitude, it sometimes causes eyebrows to be raised but mostly it breaks the ice and usually ends in a good laugh and a positive learning experience as the staff explain the correct way to say things in Thai. This was our third time at the Devasom in Khao Lak and we would recommend it especially for those looking for a quieter atmosphere, we’re not decided on where to go next year but it would be a hard decision not to go back.

From arrival to departure we could not find fault with this hotel. We have been travelling to Thailand for 25 years and this was our first visit to Devasom. The location is perfect for a relaxing holiday with the option of a short shuttle bus journey into Bang Niang for markets, bars and some very good restaurants. Its already been mentioned on most reviews but the friendlyness of the staff is on another level. We stayed for 18 nights and never saw anyone stood around doing nothing or messing around on their phones and if they had nothing to do they reverting to cleaning or engaging with the residents. This is one of the cleanest hotels we have ever visited, the rooms are spotless and all the public areas jet washed and scrubbed daily. The manager Kawee is young and enthusiast with a fantastic work ethic and will go out of his way to make your experience at Devasom memorable. Food is exceptional and reasonably priced for a 5 star hotel. Breakfast can be busy with people but the buffet area never appeared overcrowded and staff are constantly replenishing the popular dishes with fresh ones. We arrived at the hotel to a warm welcome and first impressions were good. The hotel is very tastefully designed and decorated with a very calm feel. The location is stunning and very peaceful but you are able to walk down the beach to small restaurants, bars, massage places etc. Are favourite place on the beach was Friendship Restaurant which is set back slightly from the beach just before the JW. We walked to memories beach one day which took about 45 minutes and was a nice walk, we got a taxi back as it was very hot.
We stayed in a seaside junior suite with jacuzzi which was beautiful, lovely and spacious with a great view. A full length mirror would have been a nice addition and also hanging for long dresses as I ended up hanging mine in the bathroom. One word of warning - if staying in one of these rooms be very careful when going onto the balcony via the shower, I did that and slipped down the stairs and really hurt myself.
The pool area is lovely as is the beach, I'm not sure what capacity the hotel was at but we never had any issues getting a sunbed regardless of the time of day, more often than not we were the only people on the beach.
Breakfast was nice, plenty of choice on the buffet and menu to order. We ate at the beach/pool restaurant twice for lunch which was lovely and once for dinner which again was really nice however after dinner we decided to go sit in the bar to have a night cap at approx 10.00, the bar closes at 11.00, we'd only been in there 10 minutes and they started clearing up, cashing up the till, emptying the bins etc. literally right next to us, we quickly finished our drinks as and told them we didn't think it was acceptable to be doing that when we were enjoying our drinks and certainly not what you would expect in a 5 star hotel. The night vibe was probably one thing that let the hotel down and something I'd seen other people mention, a couple of times we thought we might have a drink at the bar after coming back from going out but there was never anyone there and the bar was cleared up before closing time so it wasn't very welcoming.
All in all this is a lovely hotel and apart from a couple of things we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Devasom.

This was our second visit to Devasom Khao Lak Beach Resort and once again, we were welcomed like family. Every staff member goes out of their way to make guests feel genuinely welcome and we couldn't fault their commitment to exceptional service. From the smooth airport transfers and check-in process to the well-maintained facilities, every aspect of the resort is thoughtfully managed. The beach, cleaned each morning, provides a beautiful setting alongside a large pool, two restaurants, a spa, and a gym. For those looking for activities, the resort offers Muay Thai classes and provides canoes to explore the nearby stream.
Breakfasts are hearty and delicious, showcasing the chefs' pride in producing quality food. Plus, the weekend fire shows add a lively touch to the evening. All the staff, from reception and housekeeping to gardeners, waitstaff and pool attendants, delivered top-notch service, and it’s clear the management is attentive to guests' needs.

From the moment you arrive, to the moment you leave, you are treated to an exceptional level of customer service from an in credible team of local staff. Nothing is too much trouble and they anticipate your needs, all with the sole purpose of ensuring your stay is the best it can possible be.
The hotel itself oozes understated elegance, with an almost colonial/ Indian fusion design. Our room 335 had a beautiful outside jacuzzi bath on a balcony offering superb views of the lagoon and Andaman Sea beyond. The hotel even offers a bath filling service with 15 minutes' notice. This we took advantage of on Valentines day and returned to a beautiful bath filled with masses of bubbles, scented rose oil and a sprinkling of rose petals. All rooms were also left a small Valentines card and a fresh white rose. A beautiful touch.
Dining at the Devasom was also a treat. Breakfasts were exceptional and offered a varied and plentiful choice. We also dined at both restaurants and again both the service and food were fabulous. After 2 weeks in Thailand I needed a European food fix and was pleasantly surprised to find the Fillet steak was cooked to perfection and would highly recommend. Ultimately this was a fabulous holiday, and we look forward to our return, which hopefully won't be too far in the future!

This is a beautiful hotel in a simply amazing setting. We stayed in a junior suite with jacuzzi with a view of the lagoon and sea. The balcony was very private with plenty of room and included a lovely settee and table- ideal for late afternoon drinks to soak up the atmosphere. The room was spotless and the little touches like bath oils, crystals and their own ( effective) mosquito spray was thoughtful. We made use of the free shuttle bus as eating in the hotel was expensive. We would recommend Pam’s ( you can book via their Facebook page and they send a taxi and drop you off free of charge), The Jasmine, and The Green Pepper. A special mention to the lovely bakery Ocean Pana Bakery Cafe. This had just opened when we visited, run by a lovely friendly couple. The pastries and coffee were so so nice! Well worth the ( level) bike ride to visit. The beach is simply stunning- soft golden sand, warm sea and sunsets that were beautiful. Khao lak town felt very safe and everyone there was friendly and helpful. We visited the elephants, went bamboo rafting, kayaking, turtle conservation centre and saw a temple. A holiday to remember!!

It was our first trip to Thailand and we arrived at just the right time. The Devasom Khao Lak is a perfect hotel. We felt incredibly comfortable, the service was perfect, the rooms, the hotel complex, the beach - everything was just fantastic.
We had a sea view room (the "simplest" category) and the view was just wonderful. Super clean, the room was very large, the beds were super comfortable, everything you need to feel good was there. There were even four different glasses for all occasions (wine, cocktail, water, etc.) for two people. Ice cubes were brought to the room on request. The minibar was included - without alcoholic drinks - and was restocked every day, even with small snacks. In the evening there was a turndown service, which we found very pleasant.
We visited both restaurants, the Takola several times. We really liked it there and the food was wonderful. The atmosphere and the service of the staff at the Takola was perfect.
The breakfast buffet at Takola also left nothing to be desired. We were usually there early because we always enjoyed the peace and quiet and the view of the lagoon when it wasn't so hot. The staff were very friendly, we would like to highlight Mas, who always looked after us very kindly, and Sai - a trainee - who was responsible for welcoming the guests and always did it with a wonderful smile.
The breakfast buffet was just perfect, everything was presented with incredible love, the dishes were so varied, it was just perfect.
The pool area is incredibly beautiful, unfortunately there were few shady spots, but luckily there were a few loungers a little way off on the beach under trees where you could retreat - even if it got a bit crowded at the pool.
Both in the restaurant and by the pool there was very quiet, tasteful, chilled music that always relaxed us a lot.
There are a few small bars along the beach where you can also eat very well and enjoy the sunset with your feet in the sand.
The hotel offers a shuttle service to Khao Lak three times a day. We used it several times and always felt safe with the drivers Hran and Suk, who were so friendly. It was always a lot of fun, especially with the old Mercedes bus, just great!
We would definitely book the Devasom again if we come back to Khao Lak. The hotel complex is so beautiful, the individual colonial-style buildings fascinated us, as did the many different places where you could retreat.
We wish the Devasom and its employees all the best, always a full house and satisfied guests. We are definitely one of them.

Best resort ever, they really go the extra mile. All the staff are beautiful, gentle people with a ready smile, keen to anticipate your every need. Cold glass bottled water is always available. Inroom soft drinks and about 6 different snacks are complimentary. A fresh fruit skewer is offered around the pool every day. The weekend Fire Dancers are incredible. Huge super king bed with snowy white linen is so comfortable. Two level infinity pool is amazing. We barely left the resort. Every nationality on earth was here. We’ll definitely be back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Devasom Hotel Koahlak. The rooms are beautifully decorated, working for an interior designer I really appreciated the high specification in the bedroom and bathroom. Huge walk in shower and freestanding bath. Large bedrooms with Great quality linens, toiletries, Bath Robes and slippers which were like walking on air, wish we had purchased some! Pool area is beautiful, pool amazing and really well designed. Loved the flow of tiles used from bathrooms to pool areas. Lovely cocktails served around the pool we appreciated the happy hour. The last time we visited Thailand we stayed at a 4 star hotel and you were served snacks and nuts with each drink, this only happened a few times, which I surprised as the drinks are not cheap. We did love the fruit sticks served around the pool twice daily though. The hotel restaurants were lovely the service was a bit slow in the Thai restaurant the night we dined, although the food was delicious. My husband was disappointed that the hotel did not have cigars to purchase, which was surprising for a 5 star hotel and nowhere local to purchase either. The Spa looked stunning and if I had been in any other Country I would have booked us in for some luxury Pampering, but with the local Thai Massage ladies on the beach at 8fish we could enjoy amazing massages each day at a fraction on the price. We feel if the prices were lowered in the restaurants we would have dined here more, but with great traditional restaurants such as Pams close by we opted to save ourselves some money. We also used Mr Nop Tuk Tuk and his daughters for travelling to local restaurants as he was cheaper and such a lovely man. The Devasom is a stunning Hotel the best in khao Lak we are so pleased we picked to stay here and will definitely recommend to family and friends.

We ate at both Devasom restaurants and they were delicious but we like to support the smaller local places too.
Try Pam’s Restaurant. She has a driver pick you up and drop you back at no cost to you. Delicious food! She also has cooking classes which we highly recommend.
If you’re going to the Bang Niang Afternoon/Night Markets (shuttle from the hotel) there’s the Green Pepper Restaurant. Yum!
If you are facing the beach at Devasom and turn right there are a few beach front little restaurants that are a 10 min walk away. But dark at night walking on the sand but we used the torch on our mobiles. You’ll see tons of hermit crabs too!
There are more places to choose from in the Khuk Khak area.
