Nestled in an enviable location, the X10 Khaolak Resort comes highly recommended for its tranquil atmosphere and proximity to local attractions. Reviewers have lauded the spacious, modern rooms, although a few have raised concerns about bathroom privacy and occasional noise. The resort's cleanliness across pools and common areas has garnered praise, with only rare complaints. While opinions on value vary, with some guests suggesting local dining over pricier on-site options, the range of amenities and the consistently friendly service contribute to a relaxing stay for both families and couples.

The X10 resort is very conveniently located on the beach between the Khao Lak town (primarily a stretch of road with a lot shops and restaurants) and the Bang Niang night market. The big resort caters particularly to families with smaller kids, and they go out of their way to ensure that everyone has a great time at the place.

Highlights:

1. The sheer amount of swimming pools and water entertainment at the place. Our kid loved the big water slide and the option to rent handheld underwater scooter and zip around in the pool. Also, the division between an adults only pool with a beach bar and the pool with a slide ensures that there is always plenty of space for kids to go nuts in the latter without disturbing those who prefer a more quiet time.

2. Great rooms and top cleaning. I can really recommend getting one of the double rooms with a bunk bed for kids, bean bags and cheerful wallpaper – the option to just go in there, shut the door and read, play and be alone for a bit was a great hit here. And the little details – the staff left us milk and cookies every day, just because. :)

3. The beach is great – with a nice beach bar and ample space to relax as well. Getting to Khao Lak or the night market is easiest by car from the main road, but you can easily walk to the latter in around half an hour along the beach.

4. Hotel communication and service both before and during the stay was some of the best I have experienced so far. A special shoutout to Pearl who went out of her way to ensure a really great stay for us at X10.

Thanks again for a great week!

It's a great hotel. Modern, with thoughtful architectural solutions, everything new, quality . Style "modern low-key luxury".
For those who need relaxation and quality. We took a room with direct access to the pool - if you wanted to stay in your room, sunbathe on the sunbeds on your own terrace, or go for a dip right out of your room before dinner.
Very well the hotel separates areas for relaxation with children, a separate wing with a swimming pool for families with very small ones where they do not disturb anyone, and the nearest swimming pool is for adults only - so that holidaymakers without children do not get disturbed by noise.
The service is amazing. The staff are very friendly, friendly, as attentive and alert as possible. Everything is clean, clean, very neat and well maintained.
Rooms - bathrobes, 2 kinds of slippers (homemade and rubber pool flops), bathroom expensive good makeup, I wasted my brand shampoos lotions. They would only put more towels in, and there is not enough electric towel dryer, given the humidity of the climate for a very long time.
Breakfasts are rich, the range does not change much from day to day, but the choice is such that in a week you can never repeat with the choice. From standard European versions and eggs-omelets on fire to Thai soups that you can pick to taste. There are always a choice of local fruits of several kinds delicious, several kinds of freshly squeezed juices that are immediately cooked. The F&B manager goes to chat with the guests, see if they like everything.
The bars have a good selection of cocktails, with local and imported alcohol. The lobby has a free coffee machine with several types of coffee, and a detox vodka in a lime-mint dispenser.
The location is very successful by the hotel - in walking distance (5-7 minutes walk) street with dozens of restaurants, shops, exchangers, pharmacies. You can have lunch and dinner in a new place every time. The centre of Cao Lac with its marketplace can be reached by local taxi pick-up trucks, or you can walk 2 km. This hotel is one of the closest in Kao Lak to Phuket (where the airport and most of the tours are located) and the closest to local cafe shops, while it is far from the road, and the hotel itself is quiet and completely peaceful, no noise and no incendiary rhythms.

From the outset the staff made us feel so welcome, from the reception to the waiting staff, gardeners and cleaners, all staff are so friendly and helpful.
The hotel is in a great location only 10 mins walk from the town or you can use the hotel shuttle for 50 baht a person to khao lak centre or bang niang market. We made use of this most nights.
The breakfast was amazing, a great choice of western and asian food with the added bonus of an air conditioned area.
Rooms were cleaned daily to a very high standard with fresh towels on request.
As stated the staff were exceptional, i would like to especially thank Kathleen the guest services manager who went above and beyond. She is a great asset to this hotel and we will certainly return.

Great hotel in a good beach location
We felt very well looked after in this hotel. The rooms are very large and very well equipped: large refrigerator with freezer compartment, kettle, safe (free of charge), large shower, illuminated wardrobe, bathrobes, flip-flops, terry slippers, balcony with loungers, network connection, large TV, etc. ..
The dining room has a separate air-conditioned area, otherwise it is open plan.
The breakfast was very good, several types of bread, toast, various freshly prepared egg dishes as desired, Nutella, jams, honey, butter, margarine, cheese, sausage, fresh fruit, freshly prepared smoothies, fully automatic coffee machine (very good coffee) various warm dishes. .. there really is something for everyone.
There are 4 pools (one of which is only for adults), a children's pool with a large slide. You can enjoy your drinks in the water at the pool bar. Direct access to the beautiful sandy beach (wider or narrower depending on the water level.
The outdoor area is very well maintained.
There are several restaurants in the immediate vicinity that are very inexpensive and good. All inclusive is definitely not worth it.
The center of Khao Lak can be reached on foot in just under 10 minutes. There are always tuk tuks in front of the hotel (150-200 baht). There are great restaurants, supermarkets, exchange offices (very good exchange rates) and, for those who like or need it, lots of cannabis shops...
There is an automated teller machine (ATM) in the hotel lobby. You can withdraw money here with a credit card at a good rate for a fee of 220 Baht (regardless of the amount).
The entire staff is very friendly and helpful. Communication takes place in English.
You get fresh pool towels every day (whether you want them or not), the beds were changed almost every day, and the shower and hand towels were changed daily.
The fitness area is well equipped
Access to the room is via card. We received a second card upon request at reception.
Cash payments are not possible at the bars. Billing takes place at the end of the holiday at reception.
Smoking is only permitted in 3 designated areas. Smoking is prohibited in the rooms and balconies under penalty of a 2000 baht fine for violation.
Overall, we were very satisfied with the hotel and would come back - clear recommendation.

The hotel has had the most mixed experiences...
You should probably start with the fact that the hotel does not have a sign by the road, but only a small inconspicuous sign, so maybe you, like us, will not find the hotel itself the first time.
The hotel is large, green, many swimming pools, but here is the depth of all swimming pools from 0.9 to 1.2 m., even the pool for adults has also a maximum depth of 1.2 m, i.e. an adult just above the belt.
We had a room with access to the communal pool. We did not feel any advantages of this room, because with so many pools, there is no need to overpay for this room, as it is difficult to find a place by the pools during the day.
The room itself is simple, clean, a little uncomfortable in terms of opening/closing bathroom doors, as well as the powder in the bathroom, which at first you constantly stammer about, but eventually get used to.
Cleaning and service are good.
Now for the food. The enthusiastic reviews of breakfast are very exaggerated, and breakfast is for many a favorite mealtime. Breakfasts at the hotel are modest, the pastries are all unfresh (baked either in advance or simply not steamed and put out the one that didn't sit the day before) and not delicious. What we have for breakfast: 4 kinds of egg preparation (eggs, omelet, scramble, poach), soup, 2 freshly squeezed juices: watermelon and tangerine, the rest of the packets, different fruits, fresh vegetables, green salads, 3 kinds of soft cheese, smoked chicken fillet, meat or fish -- alternate, slice artificial sausages, 3 hot local dishes, 1 kind of sausages, bacon, coffee are spread.
You can have lunch and dinner at the hotel either in the beach cafe or in the main restaurant, in the latter dinners both on menu and in buffet format (no music, not atmospheric, boring).
We had Christmas and New Year's dinner included on our tour.
Christmas dinner in buffet format, was delicious except for desserts, but boring - no music.
New Year's dinner consists of two parts: the New Year's dinner itself, which takes place in the main restaurant from 18.00-22.00, just a regular dinner, no programme or live music, is paid for separately. The dinner itself was not delicious, more modest than Christmas.
Next from 23.00 to 1.00 at the beach cafe and bar the band performance and drinks by systems are all inclusive, also payment separately. At 24:00 fireworks on the beach, for all hotel guests free and very chic!
Near the hotel: money changers, massage parlours, cafes, restaurants, shops.
Of the nearby restaurants, recommend Italian called Al Dente, very delicious.
This is not the first time in Cao Lac, everything described above is based on the feeling of staying in the hotel.

We are relaxing at the hotel at the moment. Upon check-in they take a deposit of 200 bucks. The hotel is purely family-run. The staff is wonderful. The area is very well maintained. The beach is excellent, there are many sun loungers in front of it. There is a reminder on them that you cannot borrow, the staff will remove the towel, but in reality this is not always the case. There is a shower, nogomoy. Massage immediately upon leaving the hotel on the beach. Our meals are breakfast, but there are several concepts, those who have “all inclusive” wear a bracelet. You can eat in the hotel itself in a cafe or the main restaurant, it will be charged to your room bill, you don’t need to carry money. The prices are not particularly humane: a small beer is 125 baht. There is a small market on site where you can buy water and ice cream. Breakfast is varied: a lot of fruits, they make smoothies, soup, etc. The hotel also has a machine with free coffee. In the evening there is nowhere to sit. We walk to Khao Lak for about 10 minutes, it costs 150 baht by tuk-tuk. There are many cafes, 7 eleven, etc. Our room is in the family wing. The concept of a glass non-closing door to the toilet for families with children is not entirely clear. Large balcony with 4 sunbeds. Beach towels are changed immediately in the room, several bottles of drinking water are brought. There is 1 shelf in the closet - strange, things had to be put on all sorts of surfaces in the room. Only a few hangers and no hooks at all. These are minor things, of course, compared to sound insulation. You can just hear what the neighbors are saying, every word. We are “lucky”, ours come at 2-3 am, after which we all wake up. Class. These are the nuances, but they are what create the overall picture. I just want to come home and get some good sleep. We've been to a lot of hotels, but we've never had such audibility anywhere else.

We rested for 7 days as a family without children
Airport: everything went through quickly, money was changed
Transfer was ordered from the hotel, costs 1400 baht for 3 people
When we came out, we were met with a sign, got into a minivan, the ride was 1 hour 15 minutes.
We were greeted at the hotel with juice and face towels and checked in immediately (12:00 noon)
Room: large, spacious, large bed, refrigerator, kettle, water, all accessories are available: toothbrush, toothpaste, razor, sponges, thread, large tubes of shampoo, shower gel, conditioner
There is an iron, board, flashlight, slippers, beach slippers, bag, robes.
In the evening they bring a flower with sweets
Beach towels are changed in the room, you don’t need to take them anywhere, you don’t need to return them.
Breakfast: fresh juice from watermelon, pineapple, tangerine. Omelette with vegetables, fried, boiled eggs, toast, milk porridge, meat broth, children's menu, rice, various sautés, Pattaya noodles, waffles, pancakes, fruits, raw vegetables, sausages, cheeses
Dinner costs 750-800 baht per person (buffet). Dinners are themed, everything is varied and delicious. Mostly everyone goes to the city for dinner or there is a cafe on the beach, the prices are good, you just need to know what to order. In the city, the Red Chili cafe has a menu in Russian and the staff understands 50/50 Russian, everything is very tasty, prices are 150-250 baht. The cafe is located opposite 7/11.
The beach is one of the best in the area, gently sloping, sandy, warm and clean sea
Swimming pool: in the beach wing, three pools, children's water playground, slide.
The staff is very good, kind, no one bothers you, no one snags anything

The hotel was really nice and within walking distance of the center. Of course, there were also tuk-tuks on duty in front of the hotel and in fact the hotel's own transport was cheaper.
It was sometimes quite crowded at breakfast, which is a bit of a minus, but it's a big hotel. Otherwise, it didn't feel like you were in a big hotel, you could comfortably fit in there in your own peace. A big plus was the water that came into the rooms every day during cleaning, thus avoiding larger spills. In addition, milk and cookies were brought to the child's room every night. All in all, I can recommend the hotel.

We stayed as a couple for 1 week in a deluxe room in all inclusive.
We arrived at the hotel around 11am and got a drink and a cleaning cloth. In the meantime, the necessary documents were completed. We got our room around 12:30 pm.

Room was spacious and had all necessary facilities.
Pool towels were replaced in the room every evening. This did not happen once and after a phone call to reception it was resolved immediately.
We also did not receive new towels once and the coffee, tea and sugar were not always replenished.
The iron was defective after a few days and was immediately replaced after calling reception.
Our toilet usually continued to run after flushing and only after pressing the flush button several times did this stop. This was communicated via the maintenance card available in the room and hung on the door. When this was not resolved after a few days, it was reported to reception, but after 1 week this was still not resolved.

Pools are nice and warm. There are always sun loungers, but not all have a parasol. There is still room for improvement here. One bar opens from 10am and alcoholic drinks are available from 12pm. There is also room for improvement here.

Breakfast was very extensive and delicious.
Lunch was a la carte and tasty but not wow.
Dinner was buffet and good.

Beach is immediately next to the hotel. Quiet, no sunbeds, but the sea and sand are not the most beautiful.

From the hotel you can walk to restaurants and shops within 15 minutes or take taxis at the door.

Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Check out was at 12pm and our transfer to the airport was at 1.45pm.
To our surprise, our AI wristband was taken away at check-out and we could no longer use the lunch and bar facilities without paying extra.
This is the first hotel where I experience this. You are usually still allowed to use all facilities and eat and drink.
I find this absolutely not customer friendly and certainly room for improvement.

A good hotel, but I would rather give it 4 than 5 stars.

Excellent location in Khao Lak with direct access to the beach. Our chosen rooms had a terrace with direct access to one of seven pools - excellent for relaxation and swimming with the children.
Always space available in the different restaurants despite high season.
Only 10 minutes walk to town with lots of different restaurants and local shops.
Excellent and safe taxi service offered by the hotel. Other local taxi service available 24/7 just outside of the hotel with more or less fixed prices depending upon destination and number of passengers - also safe but in open taxis and no seat belts.
Spacious and clean rooms with excellent king size bed. Also a couch that unfolded accommodated two children for sleeping.
Towels changed every day and pool towels also changed every day in the early evening.
Friendly and polite staff offering excellent service and always ready to supply you with tips and tricks about the local areas offerings, tours and beaches.
