Once again we had a wonderful “Weird NJ” getaway in large part thanks to Gaynel and Craig. What a beautiful and historic home they share with all of us! What a lovely spot: near the river between a corn and a soybean field with chickens next door. We were greeted by Gaynel waving us in from the end of the...

Wow , what a nice review! We were in Arizona when you posted, and the Trip Advisor notification must have slipped by me. Thank you so much for all of your very kind comments! You were a fun couple, and you know how to make the most of a weekend road trip. Now that you know all that there is...

I called up the owner, not knowing if they would honor a gift certificate that was several years old, but she was most kind and accommodated us quickly. The owners are gracious hosts and active members of the local historical society. The owner offered to make dinner reservations for us and provided us with delicious antipasto and wine upon our...

My wife and I stayed here last night with our 18 month old. We had been at a wedding down in Lewes, DE earlier in the evening and Gay cheerfully agreed to wait up for our late arrival. It was such a pleasure to find such a gorgeous B&B that would accommodate a toddler! Also, my dad and step mom...

My husband and I recently enjoyed a weekend away courtesy of our children. The Barretts Plantation House has been a favorite getaway of a close family friend who has enjoyed the hospitality and expertise of the owners, Gay and Craig, on many visits. Our experience far surpassed our expectations. The entire weekend was warm, welcoming, delicious, and educational. Every detail...

My husband Johnny and I like staying at B&Bs, and this was probably the most welcoming, cozy and accommodating B&B we have stayed at. The owners Gay and Craig were such thoughtful and engaging hosts. Everything in the home was so beautifully appointed but at the same time very comfortable. As soon as you walk through the door, you can...

We were looking for someplace unique to stay in the Salem area on Saturday night & Barrett's Plantation House definitely fit the bill. Upon our arrival we received a very warm welcome from hosts, Gay & Craig, who gave us a tour & history of the festively decorated B&B as well as info on local points of interest. Our room...

I traveled to the east coast this past October for a surprise birthday party and needed a place to stay for a couple nights with my family of five. I decided to try a B&B as an alternative to the bland hotel/motel chains in the area, and I am very glad I did! The B&B is a very short drive...

We spent the weekend at Barrett's, a lovely B&B, filled with history, that is TRULY in the middle of nowhere in Salem County NJ. If you have a problem with that, Barrett's is not for you. Barretts Plantation House was a highlight of my trip to the Salem area. I came from the West Coast to do some historical research and could scarcely reconcile the words "rural" and "New Jersey."
