This quiet little caravan park exceeded all expectations as per previous reviews. What a pleasant unexpected surprise to walk into a heated ammenities block. On-site bike hire an absolute bonus considering the park’s location on the rail bike trail.
We recently stayed here with our dog and what can I say.. It was just the best place to stay. The hosts was great to deal with and so friendly. The cabin was perfect for our needs for the weekend. Will be back
We spent a week at Stratford Caravan Park recently when prolonged heavy rain forced retreat from the high country. The proprietor, Louise, was very welcoming & accommodating. The riverside location was attractive and the facilities were very clean and well-equipped. We used both a powered site and a cabin, which was well-appointed, spotless and had lovely sheets & towels. Well-maintained mountain bikes were available to ride the adjacent rail trail. The laundry had modern efficient washing machines & driers. There was a warm, tidy camp kitchen.
Great little park with views of the river. Amenities a little dated but clean with outdoor and indoor camp cooking facilities available. Walking distance to town. Friendly team. Just after the bridge on the left. Fire pits provided and can buy wood.
Great little park on the Avon River right next to the A1 Princes Highway. The park is immaculately maintained and bar the traffic noise a peaceful place to spend a couple of days. The camp kitchen and BBQ area is well located and well maintained. Short walk to Badger & Hare cafe which has good coffee and good breakfast and lunch fare.
We booked a "drive though" site to accommodate our very large new van, and my laziness about unhooking the van etc. Whilst we were unfamiliar with the town or the Park, it proved to be a great choice: 1. The drive through sites are very accessible. 2. The Park only a short walk from the town/pub/etc. And overlooking a lovely river! Who knew about this town? It's a gem! 3. The cara park facilities were clean and maintained to a very high standard. 4. But to top it off, an incident in the evening of our stay prompted this review: My wife and I were at the local pub, not far away from the Park, just finishing up our meal and a second(???) glass of red, (BTW the pub is great too!) - when the Park managers/operators rang us to frantically inform us that a storm had blown up and that the gigantic awning on our new Jayco van was flapping around crazily and liable to damage. So we raced back, to see that the managers were still holding each end of the flappng awning, which because of the sudden storm resembled an America's Cup spinnaker! I quickly unlocked the van and pressed the "retract awning " button. Whew - a really close call - and luckily no damage on close inspection next day. So there you have it folks - the managers Shaun & Louise went "above and beyond", (although I'm sure they'd be grateful if you remember to retract or secure your awning before going out on a stormy night! ) All in all, a highly recommended venue!! Take a bow folks - you're valued people!…
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Wonderful, accomodating staff. Very clean ammenities & park all round. Roomy sites & cabins with lovely views of the Avon river. Short walk to the Pub for a counter meal. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend.
Small room, but very warm and cosy. Very clean. Very appreciative of being allowed to move in early. Good spot on the river, close to shops. Recommended a good restaurant nearby. Badger and Hare, great food. Very friendly and helpful owner.
What a great little park right on the river avon, everything is very clean and tidy. The town is a very short walk and has some fantastic cafes in town, also a fantastic art trail you can walk along, also some lovely parks in the town. If you are just calling though easy to park a caravan and plenty of places to eat, we found it much better than Bairnsdale, would stay here again
Close to everything with clean facilities, plenty of safe space for the kids. Beautiful positions for fire pit's with a great bbq set up. Perfect for tent's, van's or the cabins themselves. Loved it and will be back.
