Unexpectedly I needed to stay the night, as I was only an hour away from my destination, but too tired to drive. It was late and I didn’t expect to find a place to stay, but the motel manager was so kind and made up a room for me at short notice.
The room was not fancy, but it was not bad for a budget motel. It was clean, warm, and met all my needs. It also had a little bar fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster. This is very handy, particularly since nothing in town is open after 8pm other than a service station.
The only negative thing I could say is that the noise from the highway was quite loud, but that was to be expected, since it’s so close.

We chose to stop at the Stratford Motel because Sale accommodation leaves a lot to be desired. On booking in we were given a tirade from management how she hates to be ripped off by passing travellers. Upon which we were then charged $3.00 for a 2% credit card surcharge on a $95.00 account. The motel was clean and comfortable. No breakfast was offered and the office was not open at 9.30am when we departed.

We stayed there overnight last weekend for wedding and found it very comfortable . Good value for money. Lady at reception was pleasent and helpful,the grounds were clean and tidy. The room was well equipped with clean towels and tea and coffee etc

My family and I stayed at the Stratford Motel after having car troubles on the way to Melbourne. I asked the owner for a room for 'tonight' which she interpreted as 'two nights'. I foolishly didn't check the credit card docket. When we went to check out the next morning she told me it was my fault as she doesn't make mistakes and refused to refund the second night. I disputed this and after a few minutes she agreed to refund half the cost of the second night. As we had not made a prior booking or reservation, the motel had not lost any business due to the miscommunication. There was no reason to charge $60 for what was as much the owners mistake as mine. I will not go back the the Stratford Motel under any circumstances and would advise others to stay away.

Very basic but clean and affordable rooms. Perfect place to stop and recharge.
Found the lady owner to be rather rude on occasions. We ran 14 minutes late on checkout time the next morning as we had four adults getting ready and the owner was quite rude about it. Not a great idea if you want people to come back.

Probably stayed here now four times and it is quite nice, the gardens are a pleasant place to read a book and it is less than 5 minutes from the shops, with a pub close for a evening meal. Rooms are basic but clean and tidy and verandas over the front ensure your vehicle is sheltered, looking forward to returning

We stayed for a relatives wedding in Stratford, The room was older but recently refurbished, and was clean, comfy and provided everything we needed as a family of 3. Easy parking, the room was large with a good sized fridge and fluffy towels.Theres a garden area with a bbq.The lady at reception was lovely. Tariff was reasonable, considering the long weekend. Would definitely stay there again.

Booked this motel on a booking site half an hour before arriving. On arrival a very rude lady berated me for booking online and not directly with her then charged me $2 for using my credit card. At this stage I should have walked out. The advertising says newly refurbished- I think the sign must have been up for a very long time. Bed sheets thin pillow even thinner towels way beyond their use by date. Cobwebs everywhere and mould in bathroom. I paid $100 but think this motel should be about $65. The pub food was excellent though.

Clean, fresh , budget, comfortable and perfect for stopover interstate drive either way. After viewing a few hotels in Sale and feeling ill to the point where I'd rather sleep in the car we went on to Stratford and found this gem for a budget stop. Plus the landlady informed us where to get an awesome vegetarian takeaway . Quiet and restful the perfect Melbourne to Merimbula stopover.

I made a reservation for three (3) nights at the Stratford Motel and a few days later I received a phone call from the motel proprietor advising that they are booked out. Apparently ARRA accepted the booking in error.
