This place is heaven, quiet, peaceful and home from home. Ann made our stay so relaxing. From the small touches of making sure the cottage was warm on arrival. Recommend to anybody wanting to relax and just chill out with stunning views.
We spent three nights in one of the two cottages both with two bedrooms, each of which has its own bathroom. Especially appreciated was the disability aids such as ramp, walk in shower and rail by the toilet. It is only a short drive to Sale with the delightful Port area and gallery. If you are looking to see more birds, the wetlands in the Sale Common have board walks out into marshy area. We highly recommend this accommodation.
A little gem nestled on the banks of the Latrobe river in Longford. A lovely cozy set of cottages surrounded by mother nature's splendour! Ann and Dallas were splendid hosts with quaint little touches in every room in the cottage to enhance the experience. The wetland view from the deck is stunning, with really good birdlife. Would love to visit again! Thank you Ann and Dallas for a super stay!
Frog Gully Cottages was everything promised with dollops of kindness and attention to detail. What a beautiful place to relax, unwind and share time. The ambience of wetland reserve with amazing birdlife just added to our joy.
My partner and I spent 3 nights here at the start of August. The cottages are spacious and have everything you need with a picturesque view of the waterway that is home to an abundance of bird life, it just sets the scene to put your mind at rest for a relaxing stay. On arrival there is a breakfast basket that has cereal, fruit, eggs, bacon, bread, yoghurt, butter and various jams and other spreads. The bed was comfortable and has nice white crisp sheets. There were dvds to watch and plenty of interesting books, including many bird books. My partner and I went for walks near the cottage taking in the wonders of nature and the nice clean country air. At night we could hear the chorus of frogs while looking up to the sky and the endless field of stars. Ann is a fantastic host. Frog Gully cottages is a place where you can get away and relax, we will be going back, but next time we will stay longer.…
In September 2017, my wife and I visited and loved our stay at Frog Gully Cottages. The bird life on show in the gully and the views of sunrise and sunset from the cottage were the highest of many high points in that trip. The cottage was well-appointed, comfortable, and perfect for us to spend time together savouring the avian wildlife. I have returned to the cottages this winter for my grief journey in remembrance of my life companion. Although it is winter, the landscape is just as breath-taking, and the cottage as warm and comfortable as before. I've spent 4 nights here this time, and each evening, I have prepared simple cooked dinners in the warmth of the cottage. The serenity, the view, the opportunity to walk the beautiful gully and return to a cosy comfortable cottage have provided the private space to reminisce the happy memories. Frog Gully Cottages is a perfect place for quiet solitude.…
You'd never guess from outside. These cabins are so perfectly situated and deceptively large and spacious. All-round views - watching the cows, goats and the alpaca and the myriad of birds, including blue wrens preening and whirling on the verandah is magic. The Andrews attention to detail really makes this holiday home so special. Highly recommended!!
The cottage has an excellent view of the wetland. Many different varieties of birds to be seen. It’s very relaxing to sit in front of the deck to watch the bird life. The facilities are nice, clean and feel welcoming. We just wished we could stay longer.
Both cottages at Frog Gully overlook a wetland that is teeming with birdlife. In fact, with the binoculars and bird identification books provided, one does not need to step out of the warm and comfortable accommodations to enjoy the birdlife. Observing the flock Pelicans fly in (and out) is a real treat, and this happens each day. If one wants to see some birds up close, then there's the bird-feeder and bird-feed to pull in the Rosellas and Cockatoos. There's also a small mirror on the patio which the Superb Blue-wren will viciously attack. The cottages are ideally placed for breath-taking sunrise and sunset each day. All one needs to do is to sit on the comfortable chairs and look out the window. The cottages are well-appointed with a gas burner, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, refrigerator, ceramic stove burner, and microwave. All the appliances are in excellent working condition. With Sale Commons Game Refuge just a 10-minute drive and so many other nature sites within driving distance, Frog Gully is perfectly located for nature rambles. We spent three nights here but can see ourselves spending a week in Frog Gully enjoying the scene from the cottage and using it as a base to explore Gippsland. Frog Gully Cottages close to perfect for location, stupendous views, and comfort.…
My 88 year old father and I stayed for 7 nights in early May. Ann, the owner, was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast basket was enjoyable - so much easier than having to find perishables after a long drive. The 2 bedroom cottage had an ensuite for each bedroom. The main bedroom ensuite has a rail by the toilet but none in the shower. However, there is a shower stool with handles available - fine for us who are ambulant disabled. The other ensuite has a toilet and bath but no grab rails but still handy. The bedrooms are large. The kitchen/lounge area is roomy and the views from the bedrooms and lounge over the wetlands is spectacular, especially watching the fog lift and all the birds eg crimson rosellas. My power wheelchair got slightly stuck in the gravelled entry but you can park very close to the wooden ramp. Concreting the car park would be an improvement. Dad and I had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Thanks, Ann…
