Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Location is very relaxing, close to the amenities in Imbil. It is also close to all the attractions throughout the Mary Valley. We also visited the local dam, Lake Borumba. The fishing is good if you have a boat.

Just had a lovely 3 night stay here. Lovely because of the great weather & great view from our spot facing the the creek. However the "resort" was a play on words.
The amenities block hadnt been touched all weekend. The entrance is disgusting with car bodies in and around the front of the park.
Not particularly enticing. Cash only with no receipt when you check in.
If you can cope with all of these its bush camping with a camp fire if you want one.
A bit tricky to find a flat camp site if there a few people there but its very close to town & mobile coverage.
Would visit again.

Now called Imbil Camping Retreat. Do yourself a favour and ignore all the negative reviews of the past. The new owners have made this place into the perfect retreat from city life. Lots of improvements. Friendly and helpful caretakers ensure that camping here is a safe and happy experience. Unpowered camping on the edge of the lake at $20 is a bargain for this little piece of paradise. Fires allowed. Amenities are basic but very clean and I had a lovely hot shower.

If your into cold showers dirty amenities and poor management then this is the place for you . We saw this place reviewed by one of those tv shows and it looked great so I'll never trust the media again. The junk yard at the entrance had us thinking we had turned into the wrong place and the dodgey "office " with no desk or anything resembling a reception office that smelled like rat poo had us thinking we should just leave but we had family that already checked in so we decided to give it a go , but never again! The slobs can't even maintain a few leaking taps and mow the camp ground this place would be much better with good management.

Camped here in an unpowered site the weekend after the school holidays. The toilet and showers were not cleaned the entire 4 days we were there, the ladies toilet had personal hygiene products overflowing in the toilets since Friday and stil not empty on the Monday we left. Can't find the caretaker anywhere and got sick of waiting after an hour to pay. He was friendly enough when finally found but there is definitely no (Caretaking) happening. The camp kitchen is filthy and the smell from the bins is enough to put you off going near the toilets. Thank god we brought our own toilet and just needed to use the showers. Won't be back till the clean up this mess. They must know the local building inspector because the disability facilities consist of a ramp into a standard toilet and shower with a step in, so our son had to wait 4 days to shower. So very very disappointed.

Last minute decision to go camping, so I packed my Honda and off I went. New management and so friendly and helpful. It did rain but I didn’t care....I was camping!!! Will definitely be going back and they just opened a new amenities block also. Just an hour from home everything clean and tidy 😀

This is the second trip since the new owners took over and the work that the managers do, make it a go to place for us. I agree with another reviewer - if you take notice of the negative reviews, you are missing out on a fabulous place to rest, relax, kayak, paddle board, swim or just do nothing but relax. The grass is maintained, the camp kitchen is well fitted out and very clean, the shade under the trees is better than air conditioning and you can walk to town to have a meal at the pub, the small cafe, the larger cafe etc. Also there is the Bowls club which has great meals. Or you could do some camp oven cooking the the fire pits dotted around the park. They sell ice and fire wood and have a small stock of supplies in the store. I cannot wait to go back and we only live 45 minute drive away. Alanna

This camping ground has so much potential. And is great to stay at for a short while. I couldn't see us staying for too long. Management lets this camp ground down, but it has improved of late. Some great sites over looking Yabba Creek and it is a fantastic spot for a bit of kayaking. Open fires are allowed and sites are spacious and flat. Can get crowded during school holidays and long weekends. Arrive early for the best sites.

Beguiled by the great online reviews and proximity to the river, we loaded up dogs and kids and headed up to this "resort" at Imbil in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Okay, so it was school holidays, the place was busy and it was hot hot hot but the wrecked cars, leaking taps and dirty bathrooms would have been there anyway! The garbage was exploding out of the bins by day 2 of our stay and, in 35 degree heat, the smell was not great at all. The shower heads in the men's bathrooms were barely functional (albeit that the women's were okay) and a few of the permanent residents were a bit scary! The town itself delivered up some decent food at the pub and at the Rattlers Cafe and the service at those places was very friendly and relatively efficient. The campsite is, however, pretty dodgy. A bit of maintenance, eftpos facilities (it's not that cheap!!) and dramatically better cleaning and it could be much nicer but a "Resort" it definitely isn't. We won't be heading back to Imbil.

Hi Val, The new owners are cleaning things up after the last owners. No great changes apart from being clean and tidy.
