Arrived late, around 9.30pm and as I had missed dinner I was offered a chicken sandwich which the chef had made me because I missed dinner. This was such a lovely offer, I had eaten en-route to the hotel so declined. The room was lovely, creaky floorboards, proper old wooden bed, just lovely. Nice modern bathroom though. Breakfast was good...

Superb place to go for a quiet weekend, Food is first class and the the Service and Staff are a credit to the owners for their attention to detail. Very comfy rooms that come equipped with all you require for a quiet time away to recharge those batteries.

My wife booked this on a 5pm.com special rate and I suspect that this is the reason we where given the very average Ben Vane room. It is meant to be a king room but I suspect the normal double rooms are every bit as good It is clean, the bed is comfy and it has a bath/shower. It also...

Knockderry is about 40minutes from Glasgow and have to say after a business week felt as though it was miles away. Is a fantastic location and suspect the views are fantastic, but mist and rain don't didn't help. House is gorgeous, lovely wooden panelling, real fires and very comfortable sitting areas. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was very...

We had booked one of the four poster rooms but were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded even further - to the Library suite. A fantastic sitting room with panoramic sea views as well as a bedroom and full bathroom. Lots of space! Very quiet - had a great sleep. Travelled with a group of friends and we all enjoyed a...

Fantastic stay at this perfectly lovely hotel. The staff were extremely personable and helpful and the food top notch. Murdo and Beth couldn't have been more charming hosts. Conveniently located at the foot of the highlands, it was a beautiful location to explore the West of Scotland. After long days sightseeing, it felt like we were coming back to our...

Stayed overnight as part of a business trip, so didn't make the most of the hotel. But to wake up to the views I had was well worth it. All the staff were very helpful and I felt very welcome. Next time I'm up this is where I'll stay, hopefully with a bit more one to enjoy the hotel.

Dinner bed & breakfast was just perfect. Murdo Beth and all their staff are fantastic. This should be 5 Star food accommodation, and service was just perfect. This is so relaxing with great views, it's like going back in time in the nicest way possible. Will definately go back.

A surprising gem, this B&B will "make" your effort to get off the beaten path. Seated in the shadow of the Knockderry Castle with a beautiful view of the water, this romantic spot will instantly rise to the top of your personal "Best B&B" list. The scotch and wine selection perfectly compliment the outstanding menu of game and fusion. The...

An impressive old building close to the shore of Loch Long although parking can be limited if the hotel is busy. The interior largely matches the grandeur of the outside although if you are a larger group you may be taken to eat in a modern, rather soulless room at the back of the main building and with none of...
