The hotel itself was of the high standard expected from Accor. The staff were very friendly always smiling and helping with any requests. The manager took a permanent interest - asking us about our experiences. The room had an excellent bathroom with a really good shower - very handy in the Thai heat! It had shower gel, shampoo, body lotion, conditioner, tooth cleaning kit, razor, sewing kit and bars of soap which is a rarity these days. There was a somewhat eccentric replacement so we ended up at one point with 4 conditioners and no shampoo. (Replacement of the tea/coffee was also inconsistent). They did provide replacements when asked. There was a nice balcony where you could watch the world go buy.
Most of the guests were Asian and this was reflected in the food. Breakfast had a wide choice and you didn’t have to have curry for breakfast but we did. No one was left hungry and crucially (for me) the coffee was excellent. Few people seemed to eat in the restaurant in the evening but given the food world outside this is not really surprising. We did have some ‘tapas’ at the roof bar. Beware - even the small cheese platter was a real challenge to eat.
We were very happy to have stayed here.
The only downside was that our TV didn’t have an HDMI port, so we could only watch the hotel’s selection of about 20 channels.
I opted in on the breakfast and it was a great deal. The first day we had room service, which was disappointing because the food we received didn't match the words on the menu or the ideas they conjured in my head. However, every day after that we ate in the restaurant and it was fabulous, made-to-order, and plentiful. The last day we were there, they had a buffet breakfast which had even more choices.
This hotel is located very conveniently located near a fresh market, Thai shopping “malls” and restaurants as well as McDonalds, KFC, Robinson department store, Tops supermarket, and two locations of Kim's massage, which I wish I made more time for. The touristy Old Town area is an easy mile walk with lots of restaurants, stores and other hotels along the way.
Their website price is the same as if you contact them directly. Booking online is easier because you don’t have to deal with time change and that way, you enter your credit card information yourself. I will definitely stay here again!
Friendly staff if you engage them. Shout-outs especially to Krus Tiki, Michael, and Tim. Amor restaurant breakfast is large, but too heavy with carbs that cater to the mostly Chinese guests. Avoid crowds and noise by eating outside in the dessert bar. Rooms are decent and clean, but not luxurious.
Note the hotel is not in walking distance of the beach. Old Town is about 15 minutes away. Hotel driver Kru Moy made everything outside the hotel much closer. A taxi each way to Soi Ta-ied for muay thai training is 400 baht each way and takes 20 minutes. Rent a scooter if you are experienced.
I am used to exercising in the morning. The hotel swimming pool is small and the gym is too cold. It is definitely cold enough to catch a cold immediately after sweating, and the fitness equipment is not well maintained. Since the swimming pool is not enough, then put some thought into the gym. After all, most people now have the habit of going to the gym.
The Chinese and Western breakfasts provided by the hotel also have Thai curry fish ball rice noodles that locals are used to eating. Although I didn't try it, it was very interesting to read its introduction. One of the catering managers, Jackie (I guess it should be) took good care of us. It may be because of the off-season for tourism. The restaurant is very quiet and you can eat breakfast slowly, drink coffee, and be in a daze.
There are two Thai massage shops within a 5-minute walk of the hotel. They are medium-sized and reasonably priced, just like the market price. The same price is a relatively small-scale massage shop in Bangkok, but it is indeed a larger shop in downtown Phuket. It takes about 10-15 minutes to walk from the hotel to the city center, and you can see many snack shops and bubble tea shops in the middle. The location is convenient and very quiet at night. There are few cars and people. I like it very much. Usually I walk back to the hotel slowly after the foot massage.
The hotel located in the prime location in phuket town and very convenience for eating and hanging around, lots of famous restaurant, coffe shop and bar nearby within walking distance or drive just 2-5 mins. So really recommend and will be back to stay again for next trip.
The good: Check in was super efficient (prob cuz I was still under test & go during my stay), hotel staff very helpful w my deliveries, bookings, questions etc and I had all my ALL membership benefits given to us without having to ask (I had other stays in other Accor hotels in other countries where I had to ask before benefits are given). Hotel bar at level 18 has good views of the city. Room was comfortable, large and clean. Bed was comfy. My room had a balcony which was great. Toilet was big and shower area was huge. Very powerful jet and hot shower.
To improve: rooms were relatively spartan prob cuz mine was a superior. Looking a little dated as well can do with some upgrading such as adding some USB charging ports apart from the standard three pin. Also room slippers looks washed and reused cuz mine was very grey and old looking. Towels also getting a little threadbare. Housekeeping is only once every 3 days due to covid but they are happy to clean if you ask them.
Location is close enough to city center, walking distance and near to restaurants or markets. Nothing much in the immediate vicinity of the hotel though, a lot of shops are closed. But just a bit of walking will do.
The stuff are very kind and helpful . Specially the wonderful customer service girl MAIMOON, she really helped and supported us in our needs in many ways. We would love to thank her a lot and appreciate that THANKS.
Overall this property has a good location and I would go back there again if I ever get the chance. There is a street market behind the hotel with good food and is very close to Phuket Old Town.
