Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

I booked a standard room but has issues with the toilet tank never settling down. The manager was kind enough to change my room to a family room that was huge. Even after switching rooms, there were times when the water pressure was weak. Although there were apparently problems with the waterworks when I stayed there, I don’t know if it was related to the water shortage.
Otherwise, everything was terrific and I would love to come back if the above mentioned problems are dealt with. They have a beach area that is easily accessible from the hotel. There are restaurants, convenience stores, motorbike rentals, and dispesaries within walking distance.

Stayed for 3 nights in possibly the nicest bay we’ve been in in our 10 weeks in Thailand. We were upgraded to a huge beach room with our own loungers . The room was cleaned well and had pool towels and usual amenities. Pool was very clean with 2sunloungers and plenty of tables and chairs with a lovely view. Staff were friendly and efficient ( including when removing a huge spider which they thought was tiny with a smile and nice chat). The beach is very clean and the snorkelling good for Koh samui. There are beach bars and restaurants within walking distance - would recommend the Silver Spoon. Would highly recommend this hotel especially the beach front rooms.

My husband and I recently stayed at the All- Inclusive
Crystal bay Hotel Hurghada. This absolutely amazing hotel and the ambience is what makes it amazing are the staff.
Onl arriving our temperatures were taken.
My first encounter with the hotel was the most professional Mr. Zakaria. He answered all my questions with precision and the utmost excellence.
I'd asked for an ironing board, adapter plugs and a few other things. When we arrived ar our junior suite all the extras id asked for were there.
Our junior suite was super fabulous. So spacious with a bathroom to die for!
I can't write everyones names but the sunrise management should be very proud of all their staff members. The beach staff, the lobby staff and in the main restaurant. If your glass was empty a fresh drink was immediately bought to you without asking.
I can not say one bad word against this hotel.
The cleanilness of the hotel and the professionalism as a whole was outstanding.
We will hopefully be back in a few weeks

Not sure where to start. Was really looking forward to this trip after 3 months of lock down.
I'll start with the positives.
The bay is beautiful. Great beach and awesome location. The hotel could be awesome with a little TLC. The bed was comfy. The 2 girls actually trying to run things were great and really tried to help out, but they are way overworked.
Niw theme reality.
After lockdown it seems the mosquitoes and ants have taken up residence.
The air conditioner in our room went down on day 2, they tried to fix it, and it worked for a couple hours before cutting out. There was nobody working after 6 pm. Do we sort the night sweating and fighting off mosquitoes.
The next day we were moved to another room which was greatly appreciated.
Night 3 there was a big party on the pool deck made up if high school kids and a bunch of booze. I'm pretty sure none of them were actually staying at the hotel, which brings me to my main complaint.
The hotel either allows, or does not care, if people come and go who are not customers. Several people walk through the hotel to the beach and freely usd hotel showers and lounge chairs. A couple people even brought their dogs through. I saw random people go to the beach and then use the pool after.
When you book a vacation you should not have to worry about leaving your things out due to random people coming through. You should also not have yo put up with a group of local high school kids freely using the pool area for a late night party.

I am very sorry for the problems with the hotel during your stay. You stayed with us at the height of the pandemic where we struggled to even stay open. Our business was unsustainable at this point due to no tourists. We decided to close the resort as we could not maintain a decent level of service. We reopened again at the beginning of 2022 and now things are back to normal.

We arrived for our 7 night stay to be rudely asked to pay for our stay, which we had paid 6 months ago.. after being watched with unhappy faces from the staff (making us feel uncomfortable) I found the record of the transaction and not even an apology from them..

Shown to our room which absolutely does not look like anything from the website. We got 2 family rooms and are in the back of the building right next to the main road so all we can hear is traffic and people walking by all day and night. Our room overlooks water tanks and a cleaning area.. will attach a picture.

Ants all through the room and not good amenities.. very basic for what we have paid.

Sheets get changed every 3/4 days and after that amount of time (with 3 kids) you can imagine there will be wear and tear marks and had a member of staff come to find me with the dirty sheet to tell me they will charge me an extra 1000 baht — umm, try washing it first and not embarrass your guests by walking around with 4 day old sheets and chastise the family about it. It’s a hotel after all!

The bar and “restaurant” is way overpriced and quite average too.

All in all, a very expensive stay in a rather rubbish place with very rude staff. Not the Thailand I know and love. Very disappointing

We stayed at Crystal Bay Beach resort for 3 nights during the high season. We have been accomodated in a beach view room which was the strongest point of this stay. Room itself seemed to be worn out and needs moderinisation (the walls were chopped off, furnitures very old and mismatched). Also, the experience could have been improved by more care. For example -The curtains were moldy and dirty. There was no hot water in the shower and the system in which shower operated was probably 20 years old.
On positive note- the bed was comfy and lining clean. The staff was also friendly.
We've paid around $90 per night which was far too expensive for what you get. We would not stay there again.

The hotel is in the most amazingly beautiful location, we had a Seaview balcony room and a beachfront deluxe room between our group and it was the best of both worlds.

The rooms themselves were lovely and clean, although the bathrooms are a little dated the beds were amazing and comfortable.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the restaurant kitchen still has limited hours but every thing we ate there was lovely.

The real star is, of course, the beach. Sadly we has rough seas for most of our stay but did manage a couple of dips in the sea and it was wonderful. The beach can get busy os it was nice to have the hotel to retreat to.

Our 3-night stay here was very relaxing and pleasant. The sea was rough and so I didn't get to snorkel like I wanted to so that was a bummer. The kids, however, enjoyed playing at the beach.

The swimming pool was highly chlorinated and that gave my son a rash and he started to cry after a while in the pool with a lot of discomfort.

The reception staff was extremely friendly and efficient.

The breakfast buffet was very good, with a variety to please everyone's palate. I particularly loved the croissants. We enjoyed the international menu of the restaurant as well. My kids enjoyed the spaghetti bolognese!

The rooms were lovely, spacious and great views of the sea. I really loved the sound of the waves and enjoyed watching people hang out on the beach at night as well.

The beach is a public beach so it can get very crowded during the day. The restaurants also get packed up.

I would definitely want to stay here again with the hope of calmer seas!

Thank you for the nice review. I am sorry the pool was over chlorinated, that is not good especially as you had a child with you. You were unfortunate with the weather , usually march and april are perfect. I hope you can come and visit us another time.

We visited Crystal Bay for dinner only. I read the reviews beforehand and was quite hesitant about going but I have to say i was pleasantly surprised - the food was very good (I had carbonara, other family members had tempura shrimps and pizza) and everybody was satisfied. Someone mentioned that the prices are high but i disagree, it’s not cheap but it’s not expensive either. All in all we were very satisfied with our visit!
