The general area is underdeveloped and peaceful with the only a few high-end residential villa projects sharing the beach. The resort occupies 5 acres (12 Rai) of land, with 26 villas. Most have private swimming pools, and outside areas. The 100 meter beachfront and 50 year old trees help provide the Tolani's atmosphere the owners were striving to achieve, and gave designers the background on which to recreate the resort. I am not a usual negative reviewer and this is the first such review I have posted. We previously stayed at this resort under the X2 banner and booked and paid ($2,000 AUS) for a stay in May 2020. When Covid hit we contacted the resort and firstly moved the holiday to May 2021 and then May 2022. We then attempted to contact the resort in January 2022 only to have our emails bounce back. We then tried to contact the X2 parent company with no response. We then found the resort had changed its name to Tolani and sent a web email to them and then followed up with another email to their booking email address and again have received no response. Surely when a company takes over a resort with booking pre-paid it should honor these? At the very least some contact back to our emails would help.…

I love the design and feel of this resort. The private pool villas are absolutely amazing. I actually like the x2 brand and hope to stay at more of their properties. Only thing I didn’t like was how far away it was from everything. It cost me 500 baht just one way to go see my friends in Chaweng. However if you’re looking for peace and quiet this is perfect. The customer service and kindness of staff is also fantastic. Breakfast delivery was a bit slow though.

We stayed in our Private Pool Villa in August 2020. Pool Villa was what we choose for this trip and it was just perfect! . Spacious room and the romantic bathtub completed our dream in Samui Stay. . Floating Breakfast is what you should try as well as signature spa and the romantic dinner! . Thks K. Jeff and team who taking good care of us!

It is not satisfied at all. I can rate this hotel is only 3-star or less. I am actually a big fan of X2 Kuiburi and this is the reason why I chose to stay X2 Koh Samui which I expect to have the same standard 1. The welcome drink is nice - fresh coconut. 2. The check in process is fast 3. The walking deck in the resort is very old, not well maintained. Then we checked with staff and knew that this hotel is built on Y2008. 4. The main light in the room is not work properly. 5. We booked in advance for spa at 1:40 hrs, but the therapist confirms that in the booking list is only 40 min even I got the email confirmation! 6. The gym is extremely small, but it is ok for me. It will be opened likes on-call. So we called to inform in advance 30min that we will use. Pls prepare gym for us. We intent to be late there for 5 min, and as expected the gym door is locked. So we have to call them to open. Once open, the air-con is out of order. The treadmill also doesn’t work. I have to wait for almost half an hour to fix it!! (Dirty and unbalanced treadmill, finally I decided to not exercise as I am afraid it will hurt my knee.) 7. Staff at restaurant are polite and friendly. 8. The pool villa room has a lot of dust both inside and outdoor area.…

We thanks a lot for enjoyed our welcome drink - a nice fresh coconut, check in fast, staff at restaurant are polite and friendly. Regarding the comment for walkway & areas, we have repaint and maintain often. We have fixed light after got reported that it not work properly right away. even recheck carefully prior to all guest rooms arrive but still some electrical problem happen sometime so we will recheck more and more. also for spa and gym service that we will improve better guest communication and be more careful for all guest services. Again our apologize for any inconvenience may cause. We spend 5 days at X2 And it’s not about the location: Good location – far from all the ‘noise’ but close enough to all the fun And It’s not about the facilities ( it’s a 10 old resort, but they are doing maintains service to keep up the standard ) And it’s not about the pool villa ( we had #1 ) And it’s not about the super comfy luxury bed & pillows And it’s not about the cleanness and the feeling of a very nice villa having all you need to have a nice stay ( fx Highspeed internet ) And it’s not about the very large & deep pool with seaview – 20 mtr. from the soft sandy private beach. It’s about the super friendly and highly professional staff and the food ! We have been quite a few places around the world, but you guys are something special. You really have the quality to make your guests feel very welcome and provides the service beyond what you can expect. Especially Mr. Kern & restaurant staff have the ability to provide this level – so thank you again 😊 * PS - go for the breakfast – you will not be disappointed PPS – go rent a scooter and make all the fun easy to access. This resort is wonderful. It is right on the beach and beautiful sunrise for breakfast. The staff at the resort was nice, very friendly and exceptional. The service was excellent. They always say hi 👋🏻 when we walked through. The food also good and we like to enjoy breakfast with sunrise view.

Just returned from a beautiful 10 days in X2. We couldn’t have picked anywhere more relaxing and beautiful. As previous reviews have already commented, there are a few areas which require a little updating but this certainly didn’t affect our enjoyment. What makes this place is the serenity of the resort and the kindness and friendliness of all the staff. Whilst every single member of staff were amazing, with even the gardeners saying Sahwaadee Kah (hello) with huge smiles on their faces, we particularly want to say how fantastic the 2 trainee waiters, Leo and Jely were. They were super friendly, with the widest of smiles, and so very keen to please. Would definitely be happy to return.

In 2011, I left X2 with a good feeling. The place was new and stylish and the area was wonderfully quiet. In 2020, I left X2 again, very happy to have decided to return. There are some areas which the resort needs to work on general upkeep and maintenance, but to be fair: the staff were busy working on various parts of the resort everyday. The pool villas are spacious, clean and stylish with gorgeous plants cascading over the walls. Breakfast is great with the standard buffet, as well as the menu from which you can order a variety of dishes. The reception are wonderful at arranging things. We loved the do-not-disturb policy, whereby you tell them when you want the room cleaned. They even have an app to download which allows you to communicate with the reception. In 2011, the sea was nothing for swimming, but in 2020 (perhaps due to tides), I found myself swimming every day and the sand is soft and white. The resort is in a less developed area just south of Lamai Beach. The main benefit is the peace and quite with no busy road here. To be honest, if I return to Koh Samui in the future, I will always stay here. Notes to the hotel: The restaurant needs a repaint. Clean up the area behind “the box” by the pool (or hide it somehow). Replace the cushions as they get old. Consider reinstalling the waterfalls in the pool villas. They were really special. Your staff are all lovely.…

We found X2 Koh Samui by chance when looking for holiday and so glad we did ! We had our own pool villa and arranged our spa treatments in advance......and all were very good indeed. Fabulous breakfasts and dinners, the food was so good.....spa treatments were excellent. The best thing about X2 are the staff and we mean all the staff; from the reception staff, the gardeners, housekeeping restaurant, spa and management. To name drop a few, Tone, Pon, Porn,Orange (Thai boxing...);Puiy, Ai...thank you ladies for our spa treatments and putting up with Ian’s coughing...the restaurant staff Kerd, Rio, Tim,Satan, Ai, Teema missing your humour already. Chef Kid and all the kitchen staff, Sophie, Pu, Am.....apologies to those we have forgotten or got your name’s wrong. Ok...the boardwalk needs a bit of maintenance.......but other than that all we can say is we had a fabulous stay, as we have already said the staff are a credit to themselves and a great asset for X2.
