Our family stayed her during March 2022. Honestly, this is by far one of the nicest stays we have had. I booked a three bedroom three bathroom villa, and it was awesome. It is expensive, but well worth it. The kitchen is very high end and contemporary, and comes with everything you could need. The washer and dryer worked wonderfully (unlike most places). The furniture was comfortable. The patio and the views were amazing. The bedrooms were nice and big with plenty of storage, and the beds were comfortable. There are plenty of luxury amenities such as automatic toto toilets, and remote control window shades.
The villas are off to the side of the Westin Hapuna beach resort. You can walk through the villas to get to the main resort and pool. The food at the resort was just "ok." The coffee shop at the center is pretty good, and so is the pool restaurant, but we were not impressed by anything else. The main pool is spacious and clean and has amazing views of Hapuna beach. Hapuna beach is truly one of the best beaches we have seen. The sand is white and flat, the breeze is cool, and the beach is pretty protected. There are reefs to snorkel in on both sides of the beach. There were masters swimmers swimming laps across the water each morning we were there. However, there were also rip tides some days and we witnessed the lifeguards save some unknowing swimmers. Lastly, there is an awesome trail, the Ala Kahakai National Historic Trail that runs along the front of the Westin, take you North to the Mauna Kea beach resort, and then continues. It is absolutely stunning and worth the excursion. We saw some great sunsets and even a large black tipped reef shark walking all the trail.
I would highly recommend this stay to anyone.

Pros: nice, new beautiful large room with kitchen and large bathroom. High end cabinetry, lighting & appliances. Overlooks beautiful beach -one of the largest on the Big Island. Closest rooms to the beach at the Westin.
Was marketed as being between Mauna Kea Hotel & the Westin. It is really at the Westin. You need a car to get to Mauna Kea and their beach. There is a rocky narrow trail with hilly terrain between the two but it is not lit and very dark at night. Not easily traversed by anyone elderly or with any mobility restrictions. There are only shuttles between the properties at night if you have a dinner reservation at the other property. They have a list. It’s fine if you have a car but difficult if you do not. We booked a night snorkel with Manta Rays and would bit be able to get over there without a car. Cons: They seem to still be working things out. Checked in 4 days ago but we’re not given bands you had to have to order food & drink & sit at pools. Told us we have to submit bills to Marriott Bonvoy after trip to get points credit. That’s not a big deal but should be easily entered by the desk. Had a coffee pot in the kitchen that didn’t work. Reported 3 days ago and again today. Again, not a major deal but would be nice to have someone replace. Biggest deal is that we had requested a late checkout as our flight isn’t until evening. We were told today that we can pay $250 for 2 more hours in the room (2p). If we stay any longer they will charge us for another day. You can use spa to shower and clean up for a flight but only in 30 min increments and only if not already booked. They don’t seem to value service and accommodating travelers like some of the other resorts. It is a beautiful property so I hope that will change. It has lots of potential.

We are currently staying the whole week at the A25 - 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath, plus a den (which is more like a third bedroom with a small kid bed). The Hapuna Beach view from the condo is FANTASTIC. Cleanly maintained furniture, well equipped kitchen and bathroom. Very convenient to have access to the adjacent Westin’s restaurants and facilities. Building A is situated closest to the Westin lobby, C being the farthest, but it seems every unit should have great view of the beach. So glad we didn’t go with Four Seasons, which was in the same price range for a single room with partial ocean view.

My biggest complaint about this property is their lack of follow through on customer service. If you want to check in somewhere and never talk to someone, this place would be great, but that’s not what I expect for this hefty price tag.
Example 1: Experience: We arrived on a Monday after we called to let them know our son caught a stomach bug and we couldn’t arrive Sunday anymore. By the time we arrived, I had caught the stomach bug as well and was completely out of it. My husband went to check in and I had a 3 year old screaming for his dad. I asked for a wheelchair to try to take him to his dad. They literally brought out the wheelchair and didn’t even offer to help me find him. When we returned to the car with terrible directions of how to find the room (see other guests complaint on this too), they didn’t even offer to help me to my room. We even saw someone working there on a golf cart who didn’t offer to help. Expectations: Upon asking for a wheelchair follow up with, “Do you need some help?” Especially if the person looks pale! As the guest returns the wheelchair, suggest that you help them to their room.
Example 2 Experience: They gave us the schedule for the sister hotel so my 3 year old missed the koi fish feeding. When we called down 8 minutes after the scheduled feeding, they just said someone should be coming and didn’t even tell us we had the wrong time. Expectation: Look at the schedule, talk to someone and get back to me. Don’t just tell me to sit tight. Or when I come and ask the front desk 20 min later offer me a handful a fish food to entertain my son. Like come on.
Example 2 Experience: I went to the spa on the property to ask for a hair appointment. He said they only do them at the sister hotel. Then looked back at his computer like this conversation is over, I can’t help you anymore. Expectation: I would have expected he would respond with, “They do them at the sister hotel. Do you want me to call and see if they have any openings?” It’s the small stuff that really makes an experience.
Pros: Beautiful property. From the number of staff I saw working, they pay more people to maintain the property than they do to serve the guests. Private, secluded beach. Pools were great. Food was good.

We were totally blown away by this incredible residence. 5-star all the way. We stayed in B44 and had breath-taking views of Hapuna Beach, which is the best beach on the island with gentle waters for swimming and a large white sand beach for running. The pictures do not do justice to the view from the balcony. The unit itself had high end appliances (Wolf, Miele, Sub-Zero) and electric blinds. Decor was understated elegance, modern and sleek. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Although, the price was very high, we felt we got good value for the money. We had the use of the Westin facilities which were outstanding. It was easy accessing the Westin pools, restaurants and gym facilities. The Westin lobby is spectacular. There is also a shuttle to Mauna Kea which made it easy to attend the Luau at the sister hotel and not worry about driving back to the unit. The only 2 minor issues were: 1)the small lanai (which barely fit two chairs and a small table) and got very hot in the afternoon and 2) the small safe. Otherwise, it was a 5 star experience from start to finish. We are already planning our return visit!!

Unit B46 (which includes full access to Mauna Kea for guests through the club membership) is beautifully designed and furnished 2 bedroom/2 bath home that is tastefully decorated with European appliances and high end Italian modern furniture. The views are stunning overlooking Hapuna Beach with views of Mauna Kea. The kitchen is fully equipped for full entertainment. You can walk 100+ steps to the best Hawaiian beaches or go to the 6+ restaurants, 2 golf courses, 2 workout facilities, spas, access the beach activities all through the club membership which is including in the rental. This is paradise!

Stayed here in January 2024. We had a Studio unit. Loved this Ocean Front property. Great views. We could see whales from the balcony and hear the waves when we opened the patio doors in the evenings. These are new, well kept units with kitchens, fancy bathrooms, washer/dryer in units. This was so much nicer than a hotel room. We hope to return someday.

Beautiful. We enjoyed our stay so much we will return. The beach view and access to both resorts is really amazing and makes everything so easy. We've been to Hawaii, and the other islands many times. Stayed in houses, a few townhouses, small B and B's, and a few Four Season resorts (Lanai, Maui and Hawaii). We are not typically resort folks. However we found we relaxed so much here because we did not cook dinner once and we ate breakfast and lunch from our own kitchen. We went to the beach every day and thoroughly relaxed. The units are really unsurpassed in their location (view) and since they are brand new the amenities are top notch.

Gorgeous units with full ocean front views. We stayed in B28 and highly recommend it. Proximity to the Westin with free breakfast and access to their pools and Hapuna Beach— the easiest thing ever. The best beach we’ve been to in all of Hawaii. We also really enjoyed being able to access the Mauna Kea hotel. Golfed at both courses. Breakfast at Ikena Landing and dinner at Naupaka were both stellar with a lot of variety. The staff are so wonderful and helpful. These accommodations are five star. Can’t wait to return. Thank you to them for their hospitality!!

We spent half our vacation here and half at the Four Seasons. The Four Seasons is an incredible property but this place was actually better in some ways. The rooms are beautiful. and very well appointed. We loved having our own kitchen traveling with small children as it kept us from having to eat out every meal. The beach here is really world class- way nicer that Four Seasons beach and on par with Wailea beach in Maui. The pool are at the Westin is incredible, both the adult and family pools.
We would highly recommend this place and plan to stay here again.
