We stayed at both the Fairmont Orchid & Mauna Lani and although both were nice and quite similar I preferred the Fairmont, it was more stylish & had nicer bathrooms. Service was great at Mauna Lani and you can hire a car directly at the hotel which is a nice bonus! Great easy shuttle service st both resorts.

Sorry no picture as they are all on my phone. This is a fantastic hotel. It's exactly the right size. You are never too are to walk back to your rooms. Great check in with Hawaiian charm! We had two rooms 676 and 247 for our kids 247 is a bit noisy but ours is perfect with a carpeted hallway...

We have been visiting the Mauna Lani since 1986. While the location is spectacular, the magic of the Mauna Lani starts with the staff. From the moment you arrive, Cy and his team warmly greet guests and welcome you home. The front desk staff delightfully greets you with delicious cold tropical juice and personally checks each guest in at a...

If there was a way to give a property 4.5 stars, the Mauna Lani would have received that. It is a rock solid property. The check in procedure is fast and easy. "Complimentary" leis are a nice touch. The property itself is large and even when full - it does not feel like that. The food is decent albeit high...

While our rooms were clean, and we had terrific ocean views, the experience here wasn't that good. Most notably: How terrible, terrible the food was. Breakfast came as part of our package, and it was mediocre. Plenty of items went unreplentished. Most offerings were nothing special, and fruit flies were a constant and overwhelming problem. Stations were "dirty". One night...

Mauna Lani was a great resort. The location is a bit secluded and not super crowded or touristy. The rooms were a nice size, but nothing special. The pool area was really nice, but the beach was pretty rocky. The drinks at the pool bar were amazing!! Dinner at the Canoe House was also great. The staff was very friendly...

Currently staying at Mauna Lani. We came here based on reviews. What a terrible disappointment! This is "homogenized Hawaii" and you get to pay a crazy premium for that. The food is mediocre including the breakfast buffet that so may rave about. We do not mind spending for a great product, but if you leave a normal tip breakfast is...

I live on The Big Island, and I occasionally make the approximate 30 minute drive north of Kailua-Kona to the gorgeous Mauna Lani hotel. Why? It's just such a nice hotel lay-out, design and physical structure; and certainly worth exploring. There are a couple of wonderful outdoor bars and restaurants near the water that always are must stops! And there...

Our travel agent recommended this hotel to my family as we were staying on the big island for about a week. That being said, we actually spend very little time here and just used it as a home base for our other adventures (SCUBA, surfing, whale watching, etc.). The staff is very friendly, welcoming, and eager to please. The room...

This was my wife's third visit and my second. The first time we visited together we had no children. This time around it was us and the kids. The hotel is just as good for young couples as it is for families. You won't find a fancy dance club and a water park here, but it doesn't lack anything. It...
