Detailed Reviews
This is a disgraceful place. We paid a deposit which alone would have been too much.
The Swan Valley is a dirty area - go to Margaret River instead. Everything about the region is filthy. The staff are patronising and could not care less about the customer.
The hotel (I laugh at the description) is at the end of a dirt track and overlooks a field - the pictures on the web site are seriously doctored to make it look like an attractive place. The front door is a cheap MDF door and reception is a tidy hallway. The chef is training to be a receptionist.... so much for having a reputation for good food.
On sight of the hotel we decided to check the room before unpacking the car. The room as disgustingly dirty and grubby. The carpet looked like it had never been cleaned. The bathroom was dirty.
Not worth $AU200 a night - not worth $AU50 a night.
We did not stay.
Grossly overpriced - AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Frankly paying this sort of money for accommodation in WA you expect the best. Unfortunately Hansons is not there - not being purpose built it suffers from noise problems, and it appears old and tatty - needs some reinvestment and upgrading. Add to that cheap toilet paper and I'd say it's about 50% over-priced. Quite nice, but would try elsewhere first.

My partner and I stayed two nights at Hansons over a long weekend. We paid $240 a night for a downstairs room with a one person spa and a very small courtyard. I chose this accommodation for the advertised 'adult retreat' and the fact it was within walking distance to some of the places I wanted to go. The walls are too thin and as we were off the reception, we could hear the phone ringing and general chatter on the morning we decided to laze around before the late 12pm checkout. If you're up and about before 9am though this isn't a problem. The breakfasts are well worth it - choice of three cooked breakfast and fruit, yogurt and juice, included in the price of the room. You can eat it in the breakfast room or nominate a time to have it delivered to your room.
The room we stayed in was a bit shabby around the edges, but nice and clean. We found the service was generally very good, except for the last morning when the water heater had broken. Being a public holiday, it would have been hard to get someone out to fix it, but a more heartfelt apology for having to leave without a shower would have been nice!
Considering it included a full breakfast, the price is pretty much comparable to other similar accommodation in the area, but I don't think it quite deserves the 'luxury accommodation' tag it goes under. The views are good, and it's a nice place to go for a couple of days relaxation but if I stay up that way again I'd probably try somewhere different.
