It is rather far from the city center but if you ask the host to bring you there, he will do it with pleasure.
Pak Joko who is the Supervisor and his team were very helpful and accommodating. He even suggests places and things to do and such without being pushy. Despite us being exhausted on the first day, he still offered to drive us around, out to the city. From 9am to 3pm, Pak Joko were able to send us to Malioboro with prior notice. We got the suite villa (Rama) and it was spacious and really clean. However, we had a drain blockage and had to be changed to another suite (Shinta) which was just as spacious and clean. The breakfast were amazing!! Everyday it was something different. Fried rice with chicken, soto and satay, nasi gudeg etc...and it was really delicious. They also have some massage packages and the one that I tried was so-so but it could be because of my pure exhaustion from trekking at Setumbu Hill and Borobudur.
With all the good things mentioned...there are few things that could be improved about the villa. Such as the pillows in the room. It wasn't as comfortable as the bed making us struggle to fall asleep unless we were really exhausted from walking around and sightseeing. The toilet doors in the adjacent room could do with a proper lock for privacy. We had to inform our male friend whenever we were going to use the toilet which caused a bit of inconvenience.
We survived a little earthquake while we were there and Pak Joko was quick to inform us and analyzing the situation. All in all, we were truly very happy with our stay in nDalem Bantul and this place is truly a hidden gem. We'll be sure to come back and this time, hopefully, with our families and other friends.
Thank you for the great service and warm welcome!
This hotel has many guest with small children but although the swimming pool is nice, unfortunately no children pool or separation area for children. The deck chairs in the pool need to be renewed. No one likes to lay down on dirty sun beds.
First days we were there, there were variation of breakfast but on the last days not much choice, only bread and one kind of local food. I think it depends on how many guests stay on the hotel.
After all, the staffs were incredible nice and helpful. Thank you so much for all your kindness!
"Try to get a room at the back over looking the pool - we got a cheaper room at the front which meant we got a limited amount of traffic noise from the admittedly quiet road to the front."Read full review
"- The hotel have two areas which is located just across from one another. I believe one is called nDalem Bantul Resort and the one that we stayed is nDalem Bantul Resort and Spa. The rooms facing the pool are really lovely. - Rama room have a rather small adjacent room. Whereas in Shinta room, the smaller room is much bigger. The water heater is rather weak so if you're fussy about it, Rama will be better for you."Read full review
