Grand Mercure Yogya is always my favorite hotel in Yogya. Very nicely decorated with very strong Javanese accent and all the staffs are very nice to reflect Javanese hospitality. For my stay this time, special thank to pak Tri and pak Iwan who have made all the arrangements for my stay to make my stay very enjoyable. This time, while I have business trip to Yogya, I bring along my family so that they can enjoy Yogya, so, I book 2 rooms as I have 3 children. As always, service are great. Bed room is very comfortable and uniquely this hotel also provide bolster (bantal guling) in the room that for me is very nice because that is what I miss when staying in hotel, so you feel like home. For breakfast, in order to avoid crowd in the restaurant, all Accor hotels I have stayed so far during covid including Grand Mercure Yogya have extended room service breakfast which is very convenient. Grand Mercure Yogya location is in the main road, only within walking distance to shopping mall and hospital. There are many street food around the hotel within walking distance that open until very late. One of the good street food "lesehan" that I like is Gudeg Batas Kota which is just less than 100 m from the hotel. Grand Mercure Yogya is one of my favorite hotel in Yogya and highly recommended for business as well as leisure.

This is a great city hotel, mainly for business travellers but also caters for families with their big rooms and medium-sized pool. We stayed for 6 nights, got the Executive King bedroom (#1008) which faces Mount Merapi and it was perfect for the three of us. My daughter (9yo) slept on the extra bed that was assembled for her (free for Accor members I think, they wanted to charge us otherwise) and still there was so much space for us. The bed, linen & pillows were really comfortable. I’m usually a bad sleeper but in this bed, I slept like a log. Exploring the city and being tired every night helps too.

We looked forward to breakfast everyday. The spread is just amazing and all were delicious. You know how some hotels, when the food spread is big, the quality goes down? Well not this hotel. Two thumbs up.

Two downsides:
1) I should mention that the a/c in the room and in the hallways smell of smoke. One night it got quite bad and made me cough, I couldn’t sleep until I put on a mask for the rest of the night to sleep. We couldn’t shut the a/c off, it would’ve been too hot & humid so leaving the fan on low was the only option. My daughter and I are asthmatics so it wasn’t the best air to breathe in.

2) Our room faced the busy main street in front of the hotel so the noise of motorcycles and cars all night was very unpleasant. Fortunately I sleep with earplugs on (husband snores badly) so the street noise is cut down for me, but husband found it hard to sleep.

I do hope the hotel management make improvements to the air conditioning system. It would be a costly repair, but one that they should wisely invest in. The noise is something that’s out of their control so choose your room soundly (pun intended).

Thank you to all the staff. They were lovely and always helpful.

Dear ZeedSY, Thank you for your taking the time to write a review about your recent experience with us. We are very happy to hear that you love our room size, room view and our breakfast variety menu. This is what we are trying to encourage in our teams. Although we do understand sometimes we need to ensure we take additional time to continue to do some preventive maintenance especially with our air conditioner. We will therefore review and take a necessary need for the smoke smell also with the sound proof. We thank you for sharing this feedback with us so we can improve on this area moving forward. Thank you again and we look forward to welcoming you back in the near future. Regards, Eksi Ayuningtyas General Manager

Stayed here for 3 nights before doing some volcano trekking . We had booked a deluxe room which was supposed to come with a complimentary mini bar , and a rain shower . The room was very spacious , the mini bar was empty , the in room safe was broken and the shower was over the bath . They came and put 3 cans of soft drinks in the fridge and eventually fixed the safe . When I queried the shower ( 3 times ) they ignored me ! When I used the shower the attachment at the top was missing so the water went everywhere and literally soaked the whole bathroom , I used 5 towels mopping the water up . I complained at the front desk and they said they would move me to another room and told me to wait in my room and they would ring me - they didn’t and 2 hours later I went back to the front desk and someone else gave me my new key ! The bathroom was full of mould and the fittings were coming away from the walls !
They have a good pool but don’t tell you they share it with the Ibis next door ,they have 4 sun loungers so very Lucy if you get one ! I got a welcome drink as a silver Accor member which was tea or coffee- some welcome . This hotel was opened in 2017 ( I think ) but has aged very badly ( if you told me it was 25 years old I would believe you ).if I could give anyone one tip I would say stay somewhere else

My family stayed @this hotel from 26 to 30 December 2022. When we arrived around 3:00 PM, we checked-in to the hotel and the receptionist told me that the room was not ready yet and we have to wait until 4:00 PM. Thank you they give the welcome drink voucher for four persons. After the room was ready, we found the cover bed was dirty and there were some spot including in the blanket. We requested to change and wait again for about half an hour. There is no welcome cake or fruits even for Accor's member. I asked receptionist why they don't give the welcome cake/fruits since i deserved to get it (member's ACCOR) and they said it's only for Platinum member only. I don't believe it. Breakfast was poor since there is no fresh juice (only for Platinum's member) and the food were not variant and limited. I strongly recommend that this hotel need to be audited to fulfill compliance of Accors Hotels groups. Housekeeping was not responsible for changing empty soap that i request and many more. Internet connections was poor. It did not reflect 5 star hotels service overall.

I have stayed at this hotel more than 7 times and I book Premium Deluxe, and Superior Premium. And I was amazed because I got a free upgrade to an deluxe room from superior premium. The check in was no hassle.

The major differences about Premium Deluxe and Deluxe is bath tub while deluxe doesn't have it, and premium slightly bigger than deluxe.

The room was spacious and wide with a large bed and sofa, it is so comfortable and well equipped rooms but I hate the bathroom is so narrow this hotel the bathroom doesn't look like a 5-star hotel because the interior material looks cheap (even in Deluxe), but good toiletries.

Grand Mercure has excellent breakfast even the manager (maybe GM) greets us (and other guest) with Bahasa even though he is an expat. The quality of breakfast is good and with adequate variety and refilled regularly to accommodate a lot of guest(s) and health protocol is number one.

Good concept of Borobudur around the hotel, local content at its finest. Exceptional and thank you, special mentioned to Zeta who greets very kind.

the hotel itself after all is fine but the service is kinda slow for a 5 star hotel, i don't know if it is because of the culture or anything else. first day having breakfast there, there was no hostess at the front desk to lead us to our table. it was kind of weird for me. but luckily there was a girl named janice if im not mistaken, she helped me a lot with choosing my breakfast menu. then the next day, i finally met the hostess that escort us to our table, then she offered me either I'd take a coffee or tea but none of them delivered to my table even until i finish my breakfast.
the housekeeping's service is top notch. they cleaned my room when i was out having breakfast in such a short time. i also want to thank the guy who send me 3 water bottles to my room and take the dirty cups from there but i forgot to ask his name.
the receptionist is really good at doing their job while still chatting with us and that make me feel really welcome.
after all this hotel service is good but there are small mistakes that need to be fixed.

A kind of hotel where you pay the brand (part of Accor hotels) but where you get an average service in an Indonesian hotel. First reservation. No way to get an answer from the reservation service, so I went there to deal a reservation for the next week. As there is no visitor parking I had to pay (small money but to the principle) this parking 15 minutes. Anyway, the room I reserved was on the 6th floor, blind view (the wall is 30 cm from the window). I was expecting at least a quiet night. But at 6 o'clock the next morning, a gym exercise with huge sound system occurs on the next meeting room. One hour of hell. Why they rent these rooms when they know there will be that kind of noisy activity on the same floor ? No way to go back to sleep. Third : the bathroom is really old style and the fresh new towel had a brown big mark which was not very inspiring, I asked the room service to change it. So, for all these reason i have to give a bad appreciation. In the same category of hotels (around 700.000 IDR, there are better hotels (more recent and better service at least).

The hotel facilities and room are great. Very friendly staff. FO manager Fitry was very efficient / helpful in helping make the stay a very good one. Rooms are great but if you stay the weekend you should ask for a quiet room ... as weddings and functions can be quite noisy till 10 pm. Miss Sekha and Vani were most helpful in the restaurant . Despite the hotel being very full we enjoyed it

On arrival our room wasn't ready then they have us a twin bed despite booking a king size. We then got a king size but this doesn't have the balcony. After another day we got the right room. The bed was broken but we didn't want to move again. Room service was cold like it was cooked and then left which makes sense since it was almost seem hour until we received our food. Only one staff could speak English
