Came here with fiancé and his parents for lunch during the week. The pies are delicious, with lovely mash potato and gravy options. They rotate the available different pies and sides so you get a lot of variety. Will definitely return at some point

We go here regularly for great beer and superb home made pie and mash. Mort runs the place and he is a character who has been around Ware for years and knows how to run a pub. He will always welcome you and show you around this pretty old building if you have not seen it before. Has old tunnels...

If you like your locals to have a warm atmosphere, stereotypical decor for a town pub and great pies... Look no further, and make sure you get the mustard mash!!! They also have a music lounge downstairs but this part wasn't open when we dropped in. Still worth a drop in!

If you are interested in drinking/having an event here or just meeting friends then great! (skip the next paragraph) They serve pies here, all made fresh on the day. You will have a selection of three maybe four on a good day. You choose your pie (though it has happened a couple of times that they have run out and...

Not impressed by the choice when I visited, I hope it improves. I have had better pies from other restaurants The menu varies daily to what pies are on offer and what type of mash. Very limited menu offered

We had been here before and had been disappointed, but had heard it was under new management. The refurbishment is great and has given the place a new lease of life. Really friendly staff and the pie and mash was excellent, great simple idea. Though as we went late Sunday afternoon a lot of the pies had sold out. You...

My friend and I were really excited to try the pies, and we ordered a bottle of wine and looked at the menu to choose. However, they only had Chicken & Bacon, Turkey & Ham and Shepherds Pie. Surely Chicken & Bacon and Turkey & Ham are pretty much the same thing? Neither of us are vegetarian, but I'd have...

Firstly there is no lunch menu as they only do pie and mash. The food was terrible and left an awful greasy layer all over my mouth and lips. The pie was barely warm and the mash was made with pesto which made it oily . décor is nice and the manager did refund us so that was good.

Brilliant pint. Friendly staff and great food. A good place to visit for a quick catch up with friends. Not sure the menu would work in summer but great for an autumnal meal. Clean. Tidy. And a fantastic smoking area which is missing from a lot of places!
