We have just stayed at the lodge with our adult children. The whole trip from Sandakan, to the lodge, finding the animals in the wild from the river boats, the boardwalk and the food was so good. Our only disappointment was we stayed only one night. Our guide Joff was excellent too. Highly recommend this experience in Borneo

The Orang Utan Search tour I did at Sukau was one of the best experiences I've ever had and I recommend everyone visit this amazing rainforest at least once in their lives. We saw wild orang utans including mothers with babies and a flange male, Pygmy elephants, Proboscis, Macaque, Silver and Red Leaf Monkeys, Storm's Storks, Rhinoceros Hornbills, and lots...

Sukau is an amazing place to visit, and choosing a National Geographic recognised site has got to be a plus until the poor administration and mediocre house keeping drag this wonderful venue into the mediocre category. Don't expect a doubke room even though you have booked it - its probably a twin. There's a price list next to your bed...

Dear SOS, thank you for staying with us. I have reminded my housekeeping team to be extra vigilant when cleaning rooms and be more attentive to our guest's needs. Certainly we need to be better prepared when hosting large groups in-house. Safe travels and take care.

Based on all these other glowing reviews, I went for 3 nights with high expectations and wound up pretty disappointed. I suppose everyone was so wow'd by wildlife they overlooked everything else. The rooms lack charm - small, dark, and we had a view of a water tank. Couples take note: most rooms have twin beds and though they can...

Dear Rachel, It was so unfortunate that we had the spell of 2 days of continuous torrential downpour when you were here. I was there as well and it was certainly no fun. We run our tours and river boats out when there are wildlife to see. The wildlife only come out to the river edge in the evening to...

Getting to the lodge by a 2.5 hour speedboat transfer was a real pleasure and allowed me to soak up the ambience before arrival. The lodge was lovely and felt very special as it is small enough to feel exclusive (unfortunately they are currenly building to double capacity presumably taking down trees to accomodate this so it seems commercials have...

This is authentic rainforest lodge in Borneo. National Geographic also certifies!! We took speed boat from Sandakan and it takes about 3 hours going through the sea and up the river. Impeccably maintained and it blends into the forest environments. We were group of 24 and we occupied most of the cabins. They would want you to wear flipflops and...

Borneo is a very special place, and Sukau Rainforest Lodge epitomises what is special about Borneo. Let me start with the guide Rusli. From start to finish he was a though gentleman who was not only knowledgable and passionate about Borneo and wildlife but infectious in the way brought that passion to life. He had eyes like a hawk who...

This was by far the highlight of our trip to Borneo. When we journeyed down the river to the lodge on the first day, we were not sure what to expect but we were soon put at ease by welcoming staff who served us refreshing drinks on arrival. Everything about the lodge was fantastic, from the food (we loved the...

This place is a fantastic! The lodge itself is wonderful, it feels clean, safe and strangely homely. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food was spot on. 👌🏻The highlight of our trip though was of course the out-of-this-world boat trips with our lovely guide Suhailie! We saw more wildlife than we could ever have imagined including a herd...
