Don't expect this to offer the Luxury's of a Hotel but what it does offer is the experience of sleeping in the jungle surrounded by wildlife. Rooms were basic as expected but clean and offered the basics needed for a comfortable stay. Due to the location the power to the lodges is run off a generator and because of this...

Dear EEuropeanDreamer, Thank you for your kind feedback. Yup, wildlife searching river cruise always be the highlight of our tours. However, the owners also make efforts in improving the facilities in the accommodations like building up bird towers, relaxing platforms and so on to give in-house guests an enjoyable moment while staying in the lodge! For the loud jungle part,...

Positives * Lodge managed by SI Tours, a very professional organisation * Stunning setting - on the banks of the river with local flora and fauna * Basic furniture, bed a little hard. Great to have no TV * Appreciated tea and coffee being available throughout the day. Enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner - watch out for the cheeky monkeys...

I loved it here. The staff are amazing and the location is simply stunning-the river explorations are both beautiful and fascinating. The lodge is managed solely by 'SI Tours' who are absolutely brilliant. Everything runs like clockwork with these guides and they not only provide excellent accommodation but organise walks/river cruises/guided trips to match your own personal preferences- a superb...

We stayed at Abai Jungle Lodge for one night on a trip up the Kinabatangan river. The setting is stunning, on the banks of the river amongst the local flora and fauna. The river trips were excellent, aided by our fantastic guide, Erdy, who could spot the wildlife from incredible distances. Our only complaints were that the food was pretty...

The Abai Jungle lodge was set in splendid isolation on the Kinabatangan River surrounded by forest. The accommodation was good, but the fan in the room did little to cool it down. However, this was a small price to pay for some fantastic sighting of Pygmy elephants roaming around the area adjacent to the walk-ways. The wildlife along the river was...

Had the most amazing time at Abai, the lodge is basic but clean, has a comfy bed, safe, shower and hot and cold water! There are mosquito nets at the windows and plug in mosquito repellents. Bottled water is replenished daily. The staff are friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them. We paid extra for air...

This lodge has an excellent location for game watching. We stayed 2 nights and had a great experience- great bird watching, lots of different species of monkeys, pygmie elephants and orangutan s in the wild. The food is very good and the staff very attentive. The rooms are rustic but provide all you need.

One of the most amazing experiences of our lives. Accommodation is better than basic but no fridge and you pay extra for air con if your room has it.
