Lovely place and good room. No cruise-ship and very relaxing. Covid-19 makes travelling a bit strange but less tourists is nice. Nice and good breakfast in the other building . Nice to sit outside with sea-view. Bathroom good enough.
Hotel is overprized according to other competition. No cleaning of room during 2 days stay. Missing of paper in bathroom. Room was not properly cleaned before arrival. Wifi was terrible for work and mobile. In and out all the time. Nice lady in reception however. Fantastic service, food and beer next door in ÆGIR.
A very nice, rustic hotel located in the harbour of Flåm. We had a very nice room, with balcony and a wounderful view over the fjord and the mountains. The breakfast was very good, but in another building. Recommended.
Well located, with great views over the fjord, mountains, waterfalls and valley. Close to walking, hiking and cycling routes. Also near ferries, boats and other fjord excursions. Private balconies overlooking the fjord and valley. A good selection of cafes, restaurants including a circular Viking eating hall, serving local beers and food. Lovely spot to stay!
This is a very basic hotel at a pretty steep price point, but of course you're paying for the location not the amenities. It's well set up for what I would suspect is the norm weather-wise in this region, so seemed to have effective heating, and had a really good, hot, powerful shower. I visited in a heatwave so entered a room like an oven, but a lack of aircon is understandable in this area! The room was clean, the bed comfortable. As I mentioned, this is a very basic hotel - there are no bathroom amenities (make sure you bring your own), a number of the lightbulbs in my room were out, I only had a few sheets of toilet paper left on the roll but you can help yourself from the shelf in the corridor, there's an iron and ironing board in the corridor too. My room was in the building above the restaurant and bar, so my balcony was part of the hubub of the bar's terrace. Staff were pleasant. Check in times were rigidly adhered to, and when I asked for information about trips to the Stegastein viewpoint, I was sent to tourist information, where I had to queue for half an hour to be told there were no trips that afternoon. Seeing as this is a tiny place and there are two trips per day from a single operator, I would have hoped that the hotel would have had this info to hand. Breakfast was nice, and a pleasant surprise to have a buffet in these Covid times (it in no way felt unsafe or unclean). The attached brewpub was fully booked way ahead of time, which I wasn't expecting due to the lower tourist traffic at present.…
