The Hacienda is a small hotel in Arcos. The interior and service style is acceptable but very dated . An example of this is that there is a small trolley , located on the landing near four or five room entrances , on which are with a few coffee tea sachets. However , there is no kettle in one's room.... More

Dear Guest: Sincerely apologize for not having lived up to your expectations. I will try to explain not to justify those most important points of your extensive crítica. 1.- The building is the fifteenth century and throughout the house are scattered furniture and antique pieces. I guess not refer to this when he says that we are very "dated". 2.... More

Thank you for your opinion Sir. We offered you till a 60% discount for doing your laundry and you also was not according with that rates. Great place to stay in complete relax! Rooms are great from a design and comfort perspective. The restaurant specialities above expectations. This together with the friendly and professional staff made my stay great! The only issue I had is not related to the hacienda but to the Garmin maps that locates the structure elsewhere. Highly recommended for who is looking... More

A great alternative to being directly in Arcos, this hacienda is 5 or so minutes away by car. Our room was very spacious, clean, and comfy - the bed particularly so! En suite bathroom also spotless. Blissfully quiet at night. There is an open courtyard in the middle of the hacienda, so different rooms are off different sides. The fourth... More

It is difficult to know how to start. We choose this hotel from the Internet, completely dependent on the appearance and location. When we got there, it was our understanding that it was a good choice. The exterior of the hotel is very beautiful and well maintained. There it finished. We were pleasantly surprised at the service and quality of this enchanting hotel despite it´s 1 star. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms had everything we needed and were very clean. The only reason I didn´t give it 5 stars is because we felt the food at the restaurant was expensive. The desserts were 8.50€ each, which we... More

El Santiscal was really something out of a novel. From the moment we entered at night, the way they open the door, their excellent manners were a cross between a Jane Austin novel and a Spanish countryside one. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The very name of this exquisitely restored and noble 15th-century manor house evokes a sense of romance and adventure as profound as the Spanish Golden Age itself. The term "Santiscal" comes from a Roman country villa located in the grounds of the Hacienda that was discovered in the late nineteenth century.Story has it there was once a knight called Juan de Armario. In 1485, when Ronda was laid to siege by the Christians, he was the first to enter the mine where the moors kept all their supplies and died in the venture. As a reward for his bravery, the King granted the knight’s sons five estates at the foot of the Sierra del Santiscal mountain range, where they built what would become the family residence, today called “Hacienda El Santiscal”. This beautiful fortified building has magnificent views to the Lake and its Nature Park thanks to its strategic location. You can now enjoy it for yourself. Our countryside property is located in Arcos de la Frontera, a historic city, capital of the Route of the "Pueblos Blancos" of Cádiz (White Villages), near the Nature Park of Grazalema, declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO.Arcos de la Frontera, declared a Historical Monument in 1962, is one of the prettiest towns in Spain, perched on a high rock from which hung a multitude of white houses together with a medieval castle that is testimony to the magnificent past of this romantic and legendary town which belonged to the Arab court of Medina Sidonia.Today, Hacienda El Santiscal, is a unique accomodation that has maintained the flavor of yesteryear in its walls with the conforts of today, without losing the charm of the old manor houses, as has successfully adapted to the new times in order to become a green hotel, as they credited the two quality labels obtained in 2011, the spanish "Parque Natural de Andalucía" y the european one "ECEAT". ... more   less
