Hostel staff were really helpful and friendly. The hostel was a delight. The location is excellent but the walk to Whitby was very muddy and treacherous in places. Food in the hostel was good and excellent for the price. Sleeping for me with the snorers was difficult and rather spoiled things. However all in all a great stay and I...

The cafe is lovely with a woodburning stove and subtle, warm lighting. The self_catering kitchen is clean and well_equipt. Our room was functional and the beds were comfortable. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

There is an atmosphere at Boggle and it can be very soothing and relaxing. Its okay to fall asleep by the fire full of cake and tea. We are very glad you enjoyed your time here.

what a wonderful way to end a walk - a fire, coffee and fabulous bit of cake ! Kids loved the place and were made very welcome along. Tricky to get too if you have any mobility issues as involves a walk down a bank - but a great find for anyone who walks along the beach or over the...

As the weather gets better and the days longer, the beach can be the easiest way to get to us. Glad you enjoyed our little slice of cafe heaven. See you again soon.

This is the third time we have stayed at Boggle Hole and twice since it has been recently renovated. The location is stunning, you have your own little bit of glorious coastline and can easily walk over the cliffs or along the beach, subject to the tides, to Robin Hoods Bay. The bar/cafe facilities are great and quirky, just like...

Wecan make great coffee and serve great cake, have a lovely location and a log burner ... but nothing beats our staff. We are proud of the people that make Boggle the welcoming place it is. Cheers.

Perfect cafe after a walk along the beach. We were made most welcome, including the dog. The cafe is comfortable and the log burner made it even more welcoming. Great cake and coffee. Definitely somewhere to return to as certainly very different to YHA experiences from my youth! Easily accessible from a car park 5 minutes away if the walk...

Boggle Hole YH is at the bottom of a steep bank next to the sea. It is cut off and is a great find. The hostel is quirky, nicely decorated and spotless. The lad on reception was friendly and helpful. The lounge area is quite small and cosy and was very busy and noisy when we were there, but it...

Thank you for the review. We love that you loved most of it. I am not sure what happened with breakfast. We usually serve the hot breakfast from the Bain Marie so I don't really understand what the problem was when you stayed. When you return, as we trust you will, please try us again as I would hope that...

We had read some good reviews about here & decided to try & find it after a trip to Robin Hoods Bay. After a mad single track road then a walk down a steep hill we found it. I half expected it to be closed as most of the cafes in the bay were but we were pleasantly surprised. We...

Well, should you want to stay all day we do have rooms! Glad you made the effort and I'm glad you were not disappointed. Our coffee and cake deal is real good value, and sitting by the fire is FREE!

Welcoming staff and atmosphere, lovely clean room (kids in room next door were a bit noisy though), and superb food. We walked along the beach to Robin Hoods Bay, where we spent most of the day on the beach, then walked back along the cliff-top path in the twilight.

Wow. Apart from noisy(ish) neighbours we did well! We do work really hard to ensure that people's stays here are magical and memorable, in a good way, so when it happens, its lovely to hear.

I first visited here in 1984 on a school biology field course, and then intermittently over the years. The location is unique and stunning. Now visited with the family twice in 2 months, since the refurb. This time between Xmas and New Year. It's a superb improvement and must have the best dining / bar / log fire area of...

We'd like to agree that we have the best dining/bar/log fire of anywhere in the YHA, but there are some pretty stunning locations in the network, so we're happy to be contradicted. That said, the lovely comments about the staff are what we really like. The setting is brilliant but its the people who work here who make the place...
