The hotel and the area are very nice. The hotel have nice rooms and very new. Just one question, in our room, 22, there is no cupboard. Very clean and furnitures are quite new. Our impression was that the workers are quite new in job, they are very polite and nice, but with few professional skills, no one offer us different services to regular ones, I mean, we had the dinner at 21:00, and we decide to went at 20:30 to drink a beer, no one came to ask if we want something... The hotel are quite good and very quiet with free wifi.
As a motorcyclist I love the Pyranees. I happened upon Cal Majoral by chance as I descended the mountains and was reluctantly headed back to Barcelona for my flight home. The Majoral is charming, with friendly staff who were patient with my absolute lack of a grasp of Spanish. No worries, we stumbled our way laughing through hand signs and single words to arrive at my needs. Excellent rooms at a very affordable price. The property has a rich 100 year history, and has been appointed with tasteful, modern amenities (bathroom and shower) and furniture, without losing any of the heritage in its stone walls and small windows. I only was able to sample breakfast (which was a wonderful spread of cheeses and meats with the most wonderful coffee - enjoyed on the outside terrace with views of the Pyranees) because I was there the night the kitchen is closed. Xavier, the owner and chef, sat with me and we talked about the property. I plan to go back in order to have one of his dinners. For a motorcycle enthusiast, you can base out of the hotel and enjoy endless mountain roads in the Pyranees; motorcycle heaven. I cannot say enough about this charming find. As for the complaints I see about the lack of English spoken; well, after all, you are in Spain, it's up to visitors to attempt a little culture.…
I can say that this place is wonderfull, for its surrounds, for its architecture, for where it is located, and also for its employees. There was nothing wrong and I could say that the restaurant surprised me in the good way! food tasy and waiters very kind.
No a/c looks like a nice place but no one speaks any english, no cellular reception, wi fi very weak, rooms nice but we left after 15 minutes as soon as we found out that there is no air condition even though they wrote that they have and they speak english which they are not
Stayed at Cal Majoral on our way back to France. Just 50 mins from the magnificent Pyrenees and the views from the hotel are wonderful. large, comfortable, well appointed room, the staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the food in the restaurant was excellent (but as it was all in Spanish, a little translation would have helped) The breakfast next morning was in the downstairs bar area, the lovely food and the spectacular views from the patio, made it very memorable experience.
