The location is the only great place - just in the center of Kirkines and literally next door to the taxi service. Overall we stayed there just 6 hours waiting for our late evening flight after we disembarked from Hurtigruten and this place served the needs we had: leave the luggage while we had a walk in the town, had some short nap and have access to bathroom. The check-in and out was pretty quick and hassle free. Overall it was ok for couple of hours, but I would not stay there overnight.
We arrived a little earlier and we were given a choice of a room with shared bathroom immediately or our room with en-suite bathroom. As we stayed only for 6 hours overall (during the day) we decided it would be fine to get the available room. However, we found the shared bathroom to be rather dirty and on another floor. The common room was full of people loudly speaking, warming food, etc. The room was tiny, but it was ok for us. Overall it felt a hostel rather than a hotel.

Like most privately run hotels and guesthouses is a more social and comfortable place than impersonal hotels. Is also close to bus station 200 meters away, and hurtigruten pier is an easy bus ride 25 kr or 15 minute walk. Beats the chain competition.

We stayed 1 night after the getting off the cruise and the husky attraction at the snow hotel.
Make no mistake, this is not high quality accommodation, but it is clean and breakfast was plentiful and fresh.
Reception was unattended when we arrived, but there was a key and note and my son’s name and room No. Nothing for the parents room. Anyway, got sorted quite quickly, and if you can tolerate ‘dorm style’ shared bathroom & toilet with the rest of the floor, it’s ok.
These blokes look to be trying to improve things - there were cupboard benches stacked ready for installation in our floor’s common kitchen.
It provided my family with a haven from the -7’C overnight temperature in 2 rooms, and lounge room & kitchenette for about A$300.
And, I got to see the Aurora over the bay about 100m outside the door.
It’s central to town. 150m to the bus, taxi is literally next door.
I’d stay there again, but don’t go in with high expectations.

If a complaint is submitted to hotells.com, the experience will be refused. No one present v agreed earlier arrival had to wait 1 hour for keys. Lobby closed v arrival. Dusty ugly room in a tired dark and sad building. Despite the regulation regarding allergies, the room was not cleaned. Tv worked a bit 1 station and the hotel denies any unexplained facts when I complained by phone to hotells.com. Had to leave the place due to the condition after 1-2 hours. Hotels have a normal deadline for bet about 2 days before arrival. Price for 5 days 4,500 kt. Do not recommend anyone to choose this terrible places. Guides and tourism in the area also refused cooperation with Barents breakfast hotel. There is no breakfast there and no service

Good location in downtown with bus stop, restaurants and grocery store nearby. Our room on the second floor at the front.of the building was roomy and quiet, though it was akin to walking through a maze to get there. Wifi was excellent, plenty of hot water. The breakfast was very basic but adequate. Bus to the airport stops across the square at a nearby hotel. We weren't sure what to expect when booked as it was much less expensive than other hotels in town, but it ended up being a good value. And lastly, it was a pleasant surprise to find our room ready for us when arrived from the ship at 9:30 am.

My sister and I stayed in Kirkenes only one night after disembarking from a cruise and waiting for our flight the following morning. I have to say, we didn't expect much when we booked the hotel. It was by far the cheapest hotel booked on our 4 week trip! And yes - it's an older place - but the service makes up for everything!! We arrived early and our room was still being cleaned. The manager was such a lovely man and so helpful! He held our bags for us and gave us directions to shops we needed and was just lovely - we had a good ole' chat!
The room had everything you needed - and a fantastically hot shower which was just heaven!! I really filled up at breakfast with everything!! It was such a nice little spread! I was suprised at the Wifi access too!! Completely free and surprisingly fast!!
I would describe this place as more of a B&B than a hotel - it had a cosy, homey feel to it. Easy walk to a large chain hotel around the corner to catch the airport bus the next morning....
The only addition that would have been good is to put block out curtains on the windows.... we had the midnight sun during our stay so the room was quite light for the majority of the night.

The only reason for staying here was that no other rooms were avialable in Kirkenes that day. The breakfast was OK, and that saved the day for this otherwise lousy hotel, which is among the worst places I have ever stayed in.

We had booked two rooms for one night, but there was only one room for us. We were told by the person at the front desk, who spoke very little English and no Norwegian, that we had booked one room for two nights even though the paper he showed us said two rooms. He made some phone call and handed over another key! 1100 NOK per room is very close to daylight robbery. The only good thing to say about this place is that the bedlinen were clean and the bathrooms reasonably clean and the breakfast was almost ok. I wouldn't recommend it to anybody!

Hotel definitely exceeded our expectations. Originally booked it due to it being much cheaper than the other options in town, but what we found was far more than we expected. We got there at 10 AM from the Hurtigruten and had not requested early check-in, but the very friendly owner was there and quickly found us a room. Clean rooms, free and fast wifi, and the base room price included all the coffee/hot chocolate we could drink AND breakfast (easily a $30-$40 savings for me and my wife based on the prices for those I saw around town). If I ever go back to Kirkenes I will definitely be staying here again.

We visited Kirkenes and stayed in the Barents Frokosthotel. To be honest there are some things that can change for better impressions but we enjoyed every moment of our stay.
The coffee and tea were always available and the breakfast in the morning was like self serving but very nice.
Good clean rooms and towels very nice. Always hot water and now that I think back Barents Frokosthotel you were a bit of a rough diamond on first impression but after day 3 you show your bright side!
We will come back!
