Guests may also enjoy the Health Club equipped with an indoor swimming pool, a Jacuzzi, a steam room, a Gym and 2 tennis courts (part of a neighbouring hotel and available for an additional fee). There are deck chairs and parasols available on the sandy beach and an entertainment programme rounds off the hotel's offerings. A fine buffet is on offer on every meal of the day. This hotel is in a fabulous location and our room (on the 4th floor) had a lovely view of the marina and sea. However, the hotel is extremely dated. The room was really dark and dingy. We had two single beds pushed together which is ok but not ideal. The bedding all looks really old fashioned. The bathroom is very basic and really needs updating. The shower was surprisingly good though. It’s definitely not what I’d expect for a 4* What did surprise us was how good the breakfast was. There’s all the usual variety of cooked, continental, fruit, pastries, omelette and pancake station. I need gluten free and although I had to ask for it, I was given a lovely selection with two hot rolls, a muffin and a delicious Portuguese tart. The reception staff are very friendly. If you’re a sun worshipper you need to pick your sunbed carefully as the sun moves behind the hotel. It’s not somewhere we’d come for a quiet break. The hotel is full of very loud groups of golfers who dominated the pool bar area. The hotel does feel very clean, especially the pool area but there’s only so much you can do with a room that desperately needs refurbishing.

Stayed for 3 nights. All staff members were polite and helpful, specially the guy with grey long beard (forgot the name). I have deducted one star because of Management. Technically if you rent out a room it means you have rented out all the fixtures and furniture laying in the room. A fixed safe was laying in the wardrobe but I had to pay extra to use the safe for every day. In future you may not have to pay extra to use the toilet, to use the shower, to use the chairs etc. laying in the room.

Hotel is good and kept really clean, rooms & bathrooms good. We were a group of 15 golfers, nobody had any complaints about the hotel. We were B&B and the breakfasts had a good selection of fruit/cold meats/cereals/cooked bacon-eggs-tomato's etc. Location is good being 50-100yds from the marina, with its many bars & restaurants, even a MacDonalds just down the road for those who like that stuff. The marina itself is very good and kept clean, but it gets a little seedy if you go off the front and on the back streets. One of our group got mugged as he decided to go home one evening on his own, we also spoke with another individual who went through the same experience but both of these guys were alone...go home with friends or get a taxi. That aside we had such a good time we have already Vila Gale for next year, great place and good hotel.

Minimal quality and unsatisfactory facilities The decor and furnishings through the hotel is tired and dated and the facilities are poor. Our room was small with a small balcony The wardrobe had six hangers per person and no drawers The safe is chargeable No tea/coffee making facilities No ironing facilities There was no benefit for paying extra for a ‘sea view’ as the view is a crowd of rowdy men and the noise from the pool area can be heard all day. The hotel is popular with groups of men. When the organised games began the music was over bearing.
POOL The pool area was dreadful, filthy, plastic beds and tables, with chewing gum stuck to them along with bird excrement and other marks.
Not enough parasols
The towels offered by the hotel were only slightly bigger than hand towels and well worn. We bought our own from a local shop.
There is no covered area to sit in for drinks or lunch. The option is more uncomfortable plastic seats and a few parasols, and again not enough. The outside food menu is very basic
BREAKFAST The produce was of cheaper quality and very limited in selection. The coffee from urns was of poor quality, the coffee from a machine offering Cappuccino, Latte etc, was awful.
The gym consisted of 3 pieces of equipment; one bench and some dumbbells.
Generally the hotel itself was clean and the inside spa area looked good.
The constant noise that came from the pool area doesn’t allow for a relaxing break and I would not take my family there
All in all our experience was one of great disappointment, and dissatisfaction
We anticipated (as described on the website) a relaxing weeks break in a Hotel opposite the lively and luxurious marina, but without losing the tranquility of a holiday destination.
The website also boasts For golfers staying in this hotel in Vilamoura, there is a free shuttle to the numerous and award-winning golf courses of the region, namely Victoria, Old Course, Pinhal, Millennium and Laguna And groups of male golfers is exactly what you get!

Completely satisfied with our stay here. Appreciate everyone is different and may have higher expectations but we had great week with no complaints. Lovely clean hotel and breakfast was no more or less than we had hoped for. Tip: get there for 9am and you won’t have to queue to be seated. You get what you pay for and we thought this was value for money. Suspect majority of the complaints are based around ‘off-peak’ dates when children are in school and larger ‘rowdy’ groups are perhaps perusing cheaper breaks. The pool area was ‘secured’ with towels long before we got downstairs so we just headed to the beach which is a five minute stroll. There are a number of much nicer newer hotels in the area if that’s what you’re looking for but expect to pay the premium. Horses for courses. As is always the case people are always more likely to complain than make the effort to put ‘pen to paper’ and say something nice. We would stay again if returning to Vilamoura.

Food selesction was awful. We had dinner and breakfast included and had to eat out each night. Queues every evening and morning to get in and for one 'chef' to cook you an egg or a piece of meat on a grill. Chicken was raw one night. The restaurant is hot and like a cheap cafeteria. The whole hotel is outdated and reminded me of an old folks home. Pool was nice, bit needed to be cleaned more regularly and 2 days there were issues with not enough loungers. It came to my attention that there were very large groups of people using the facilities that were not staying in the hotel. There was no entertainment and service was slow throughout. The pool bar took about 10 mins per drink and there no indoor bar at all. Place is dead and soul less. We paid 877 for 3 nights (2 dinners, 3 breakfasts) 1 adult and 1 child, very disappointed.

A great location for our 4 night stay in Vilamoura- very close to the beach & Marina.
We were able to check in early when we arrived which was amazing, reception staff all very helpful. The pool area and rooms were clean & and all staff very friendly.
Towels for the pool are available at reception. The drinks in the pool bar were reasonably priced for a hotel.
Breakfast was fine, had low expectations looking at the reviews but it was absolutely fine.
Our room was cleaned each day - one day bath towels not replaced but arrived within 5 mins of me calling down to reception.
Overall a great hotel. Would return and recommend.

I'll start with the good - Location is perfect and the Vilamoura Marina is such a great location for food, entertainment, views and the beaches are the best. The Hotel offered a great view of all of this with us being on the 8th floor.
The not so good - The hotel lacks in so many areas. First of all the building itself is dated with almost no atmosphere in the evenings I actually felt sad for the musician playing to an empty room.
The staff seemed very unenthusiastic and not interested at all especially when you needed to speak to reception. the Staff in the pool bar were extremely slow which caused queues and the main staff member there seemed almost annoyed when you were buying drinks.
The pool area was okay, however the pool was cold and with the building being 'U' shaped it didn't offer a great experience so we decided not to have a pool day and rather have a quick dip at the end of the day.
the room itself was spacious however there are no iron facilities at all, in fact you had to pay to get your clothes ironed. Now most guests for this hotel will have their clothes in suitcases and any other "4 star" hotel I've been in definitely offers a solution to ironing whether that be an iron room or an iron in the room itself - very disappointing.
the staff forgot to change our towels when cleaning the room.
a side note to all of this is this is heavily occupied by golfers and groups of men. and although this isn't necessarily a bad thing what it does mean is that you'll find large groups being loud at most times of the day and the night. just a thought for young families.
overall the score for me is based on the location alone. I'd definitely be returning to Vilamoura but at a friendlier and more accommodating hotel.

We stayed here for 5 nights bed and breakfast, meeting family who were here for a fortnight. The hotel is in a great location, the staff are friendly and helpful, but painfully slow at doing everything.
It is very dated, the common areas are clean and the pool is great.
We only seen the cleaners in our room once throughout in 5 nights which was a bit surprising. The room was a decent size, but again, quite dated. Doors are very loud and are slammed at all hours of the night, which when you have an 18 month old baby isn’t ideal. Our bed was also well past its use by date. Uncomfortable and extremely creaky.
The breakfast offering was ok, we went three times during our stay. The poolside food was also decent, but order 30 mins before you want it. They also charge 4 Euros for a 1.5l bottle of still water at the bar, which you can buy in the shop next door for 1 euro, that’s a bit steep.
