I am a time share owner who traded a week for this week. The location is perfect for walking to the marina, nearby restaurants, market or pharmacy and the casino is right across the street. The staff is simply amazing from the front desk to the housekeeping and shuttle drivers that take you to golf. (The golf courses are crazy pretty but that’s a different review). The unit itself was a one bedroom and very spacious including a large lanai with views of the ocean and surrounding hotels. But I can’t give five stars because the unit is so old. The TVs aren’t “smart” so no streaming. The appliances are all dangerously old. There’s very little artwork to brighten the place up, the beds were not that comfy. The HVAC was off which was okay because we didn’t need heat or air and could open the doors to the lanai. But a ceiling fan would have been great at night so we could close the door and not be too warm. There is a lot of late night foot traffic below coming from the bars at the marina or the casino and the sounds carry so nighttime earbuds came in handy. The nightstands are small and the lamps are glued down so space is limited for something like a cpap machine should you need it. You must do your own dishes but there is no dishwasher or dish soap so get some at the market. No starter paper towel roll either like in similar units . No coffeepot for us spoiled Americans. Get some instant coffee! Overall we really enjoyed our stay, just wish they would update the units and I would come back.

We travelled as a group of 12 Golfers. The rooms are a little bit dated now, but for us they were more than comfortable. The hot water in our bathroom took over 5 minutes to come through each day, meant you had to turn on the tap and leave it for a while before getting in the shower.
I had a room/suite overlooking the pool, some of the party had rooms overlooking the carpark at the rear, they asked for an exchange but were denied.
Staff were very friendly, especially the bar staff around the pool.
A special mention for the young lady who helped me, (didn't get her name) but she was on a training visit to the hotel, her english was exceptional ......well it should have be she spent 12 years living in Lincoln. Helped me get my room extension, very helpful young lady, good luck for your training.
Didn't eat in the restaurant here so cannot offer any feedback, although a couple of us had a lunchtime meal. I found these to be very tasty and good value for money, overall very nice. Drinks are now quite expensive looking at €5 each for a bottle of cider or beer. Cokes are now €4, its gotten expensive
The pool is good towels have to be collected from reception, €5 deposit.
Safes in the room 5 days cost around €10 with a €10 deposit. We had Air con which was really needed as we had temperatures approaching 40' No tea making facilities in the room. The room was cleaned everyday with fresh towels
I was looking forward to the breakfast here as last year they had traditional english bacon, disappointingly this was now off the menu, I really wasnt a fan of their version of bacon as were others in my group. I asked for an omelette and was told that would cost extra, if you wanted fried eggs these needed to be cooked separately, but no charge for these. Would come back and stay here with a group of golfers any time.

Most things about this hotel are very good indeed. Firstly the location is excellent. 5 minutes from the beach and only a 10 minute walk to the marina where all the restaurants and bars are located. It’s also directly opposite the Casino if that’s your sort thing. There is also a large free car park immediately behind the hotel. During our visit this was never even half full. We were lucky enough to be upgraded from the studios we booked to suites on the 8th floor which were extremely spacious with large sitting area with small kitchenette at the end. A very well specked bathroom which appeared to have been recently refurbished. A large walk in shower with great powerful shower that always had plenty of hot water. Unfortunately the bedroom itself didn’t live up to the rest of the suit with two very small and uncomfortable single beds . Very outdated wardrobes and a bed side lampshade that was held together with sticky tape which had obviously been like this for some time. How much does a lamp shade cost for goodness sake? The bedroom and sitting room both opened out onto a large balcony overlooking the pool below and across to the sea. Breakfast was excellent with everything you might want both hot and cold. The staff on duty at breakfast were also first class, friendly, helpful and on top of everything. We only eat in the restaurant on our first night but the food was very good and the service also very good. During our visit the hotel was pretty quiet at night but what it’s like in mid season I don’t know. There is a large pool in well kept gardens with several sun beds in evidence but the water was far too cold for me in March. All in all a very enjoyable stay and I would recommend and would stay a again if in the area.

Great location. All staff are very friendly that we came into contact with. The room was large and adequate, however, very very dated. It’s like it hasn’t been updated since the 80’s. All of the pictures were of nothing todo with the sea, you would expect a couple of marina shots or some local fishing boats. Plus, who ever hung them needs a lesson on symmetry. Why is there a picture over one of the beds? That’s an accident waiting to happen. The kitchen area is stocked well with pots and pans and cutlery. Something that we wouldn’t use. We’re not cooking, we’re on our holiday. There were a few loose tiles scattered around and you need a degree in engineering to work out which light switch turns on which light, because some of them have a different function if one switch is in a different position. The blackout curtains did there job. But do need changing as they were being held together with stationary staples. If you think you’re going to have a lie in on Saturday and Sunday morning, think again. The casino across the road kicks out at 6am and there were a lot of drunk people shouting. This hotel is considered a golfers hotel, so for breakfast, wait until after 9am and you’ll have an near empty restaurant. The breakfast was really good. Great selection. While we were there easyJet had a sale for next year. So we bought return flight tickets. We asked at reception, if they could give a price for next year. They came back with an extortionate price, so we’ve booked elsewhere next year for half the price with airport transfer thrown I. That we were quoted. So it’s always good to shop around.

Hotel located nearby of the Vilamoura marina and at back has a free carparking but is always full. The staff is top specially the cleaning ladies who are always available to provide support and sugestions on were to go or visit. The hotel furniture is very very old who remember the 80`s and needs to be replaced asap. The flat is good with enough space for the family and confortable. The bar at night is empty without customers and needs to be refurbished/updated.

My partner and I had an excellent 10 nights at Dom Pedro Portobello at the end of September. The 1 bedroom sea view apartment felt huge! The furniture/decor and utensils in the kitchinette/living room and bedroom were a little dated in style but in great condition. The bathroom was more modern, plenty of space, big mirror with plenty of light, great shower.
Decent sized pool with plenty of sun loungers and parasols (all that towel out early stuff isn't allowed - appreciated). We never spent any time in the bar area, but very much enjoyed the one evening meal we had at the restaurant - my swordfish main was particularly tasty. We had breakfast included which we were very happy with, even after 9 of them!. I'll call out the pasteis de nata, fresh watermelon/melon/pineapple, and surprisingly good scrambled eggs as highlights.
Amazingly friendly, flexible, and helpful staff - at reception, in the restaurant, and room cleaning. Our last morning was a very early exit and they kindly arranged a packed breakfast for us to go. We never got a chance to use it but we were told it's possible to access a spa at a neighbouring Dom Pedro hotel.
The location is good, 5 min walk to either the beach or marina. Vilamoura we found a little pricier than the more Portuguese/less touristy Algarve towns like Faro, Loule, Tavira, but still cheaper than the UK. There's plenty of good food and drink options - especially all the fresh seafood.
We would happily return here in the future.

Just back from a great stay at Dom Pedro Portobelo. It is in a super location, 3 mins walk to beach and 3 mins walk to marina where the restaurants/nightlife are. Staff are fantastic, all so friendly and helpful. They really stand out. All areas of the hotel were extremely clean. The hotel restaurant isn't super fancy but it's very reasonably priced and has a good selection of food throughout day. Our breakfast was included and there was a good variety of cereals, breads, fruit and hot food.
The only negative I would say is that in general the hotel is dated and needs a revamp in most areas. The pool area in particular needs maintenance. Many of the umbrellas are broken, there's grass growing through the concrete and more sun beds are needed. However, this did not spoil our stay. We still really enjoyed the pool area daily but it does need some attention.

Stayed here for 5 nights, its certainly not the best hotel we have stayed in in the area, but as a group of golfers and for 5 nights it was enjoyable. The rooms were cleaned daily and the towels changed.
Our room was a suite, they had all the tea making hardware but they didn't provide any of the ingredients. We didn't ask if they would provide the tea and coffee so not able to say if they would have done so.
Rooms had air-con which of a night was welcomed. The only sour note was we had to pay for the safe in our rooms, 2 euros a night. Never come across that before
Breakfast was what we brits would expect, with proper bacon. The evening menu offers a good selection of meals, and very well priced
Staff were very good, especially the evening staff when around the pool they were very attentive and looked dafter us well.
The hotel is not far from the beach, never went to the beach but it looks to be a few minutes walk. The marina was our destination every night and this is approx a 5 minute walk.
We picked the weekend of the boat show so the marina was extra busy with visitors to the boat show, the boat displays lined the perimeter of the marina which was a little distracting.
My only complaint is the noise that emanates from the Casino opposite, the car park exit is opposite the hotel and cars beep horns to attract the attention of the gate keeper to let them out and this happens from very late evening till early morning. There are also the late revelers leaving the casino who cannot do so quietly

The hotel reception, bar and pool area are lovely worthy of a 4 star . The breakfast area gets very busy due to the layout of where the hot drinks and toast machines and pastries are all together. The breakfast is fabulous the selection is great and the best bacon I’ve tasted . The staff at the hotel are lovely. The location of the hotel is a 5 minute walk to the beach and bars . The only negative was our room it was very dated , Dusty , broken lampshades , the bathroom has missing floor tiles and bath tiles and the shower curtain fell down . This is a great hotel but ask for a nice room overlooking the pool .

The resort is in a very good location within a 5 minute walk to the picutresque Marina, shops and beach. Facilities (e.g. Restuarant) were adequate for our needs. The room we had was comgortable and fairly spacious with a lovely view over the swimming pool & sea. A Spar/groceries shopping was only a 3 minute walk away.
