Such a wonderful location, the view from the cabin is out of this world! The friendly staff, the nice food at Børsen Spiseri, the atmosphere... all so fantastic. Kitchen well equipped, nice sleeping comfort, even our own sauna!
We stayed in this rorbuer for three nights. The first morning we were awakened by a huge noise. This turned out to be from digging that took place just 10 meters from our (and other) rorbues. It appeared they were dumping and crushing large boulders with a bulldozer/crane! It was horrible. After breakfast we went to the reception desk and informed the man behind the counter about our experience. He looked at us if he was surprised but you could see on his expression that he surely was aware of the problem and couldn't care less. The second morning...at 4:15 am !!! They started again with their work ! Couldn't sleep any more. Again we informed (another) guy at the reception. He made a note on...a post-it. The rorbue itself was just marvelous, well equipped and warm. Good bathroom with shower and good water pressure. The WiFi didn't work in our cabin, I had to connect with the adjacent rorbue WiFi and even then it was unstable. Breakfast was good, diner at the restaurant was not special. Small portions and once we had pork belly that was just one lump of fat. In my opinion they shouldn't offer these rorbues while those works are in progress. It would have been a marvelous stay without the digging works ! Ask them about the works before booking it.…
Amazing Fisherman's Cabins on the Waterfront with incredible views. Excellend service and the staff is super prefessional. Dinner in the Restaurant Børsen Spisere is an experience of a lifetime. Highly recommended!!
Our rorbu (the sea house we were in) was very pretty and cozy and it had a nice view of the sea, but that was about it. We arrived at 5 pm and the cabin was not ready, but at the same time they expected us to leave it by 11 am and do part of the cleaning chores by removing towels and linen and emptying trashcans. Despite promising a lovely Lofoten experience sorrounded by a beautiful scenery, the hotel was really located by several warehouses stinking like fish and oil. But the worst part was that the area where our cabin (and several others) was located was actually a construction site. All day long diggers and bulldozers worked on the small road we were to walk more times a day, coming dangerously close to where we were asked to park and even to us, because no kind of line or separation was created. In more than one occasion we had to shout to the worker to stop operating the machine not to be hit by it as we left the cabin. Once that we shared our concerns to Svinoya Rourbuer staff, we were told that there was nothing it could have been done about it. Our suggestion to maybe not rent that part of the hotel was received with a vague smile. We think it might not have been received at all. To the man at the reception our complaints were nothing to even be sorry about. That our “beautiful Lofoten experience” and (most importantly) our safety had been put at risk was not something that they thought was worth doing anything. He appeared to be amused when we suggested that somebody might get hurt someday. We are very disappointed: we wish that they would one day learn that clients are not just people to spill money from, but for now they act like nothing else but providing a roof is enough, because they can count on the beauty of the environment around them. But luckily this is not the only hotel on the Lofoten and we at least have the possibility to inform people to choose better: for their pleasant time in Lofoten, but most importantly, for their safety.…
We already have a bad feeling about this place after day 1. Restaurant fully booked for 3/4 days we stay here. (They don’t give priority to guests). Luckily we have a spot on the last day. Breakfast was good, but almost nothing was available, marmelade, choco, eggs, plates, glasses, …we had to ask everything and we had to sit at a big table for 8(?) with the two of us because the tables for 2 were covered for dinner (I thought restaurant was fully booked the day before?). No welcome when entering and that makes it awkward when it’s the first time you’re having breakfast in a place. The two girls were busy cleaning everything from a large group that had just left instead of refilling the breakfast. We don’t blame the girls, but we blame the management, they have to provide more staff when they expect large groups. We were not the only ones complaining, but maybe we are the only ones writing a review. I also never complain, but we are travelling around for our honeymoon, and since this is the first place we feel like it’s too commercial. Other places gave us a lovely treatment (or upgrade) because of our honeymoon. We can’t expect that everywhere to be honest, but it is always nice ;) .. instead we have to clean the cabin ourself, put the trash out in the containers, we must do our own dishes and the WiFi always loses connection. I know, luxury problems, but not something you expect on a honeymoon in 2021. We are staying here for another 3 days, we will survive but at this moment we are not looking forward to it.…
