This hotel is wonderfully located 2 minutes away from the main city square. I found it a bit old fashioned but for some that might be part of its charm. There were three things which I disliked: one of them is the lack of a lift- not a problem for me ( yet)! but it would be quite difficult for older people or people with disability. The second thing is the lack of WIFI in the rooms. You can only access it in the common areas. I found this quite uncomfortable as I like using the Internet in my room where I can plan and read up on local attractions. The third problem was my walk in shower which was a bit like a phone booth- the size even resembles it which makes it quite claustrophobic. It is a one star hotel so maybe I should not be complaining!!!!
Double room for 50€ included breakfast in the heart of town. Of course you cannot drive to the front door but we got an email with info about parking just after the booking. It's 2 minutes walk if not less. It is a unique place definitely worth tne money.
It's all been said and you Can't get closer to the city old town if you tried ... quaint hotel with very willing staff but there are a few buts. You just need to go with your eyes open. And they are ..... 1.Parking is not very close ... about 400 yds and multi-storey. Lifts to the road but steep walk so make sure you just use what you can carry ... you CANT drive to the front door and park after. Do NOT use the hotel address to drive to ... just use it to find the area and then I suggest if you book parking ask the hotel for the car park name BEFORE you arrive and watch for the yellow signs to the car park 2. No lifts in the hotel. 3. Faint whiff of drains ...... seemingly everywhere 4. Have to say Caceres is looking a bit run down but still a visit worth doing 5. Note it's a 1* hotel ... I think it's much better than that suggests but you need to like 'shabby chic' …
Right on the Plaza Mayor, hotel has old world charm and modern wifi. Breakfast very substantial with something for everyone (except eggs). Gorgeously decorated with antiques. Caution: no elevator, for those with mobility issues. Would definitely stay here again.
The hotel is three levels. It contains beautiful wall hangings, crockery, it has a large reading room. Similar to a palace. Lovely thick red carpet over stairs. Double rooms are goid spainish size, modern bathroom. Our room 203 is over the walk way and we xan see plaza mayor. Staff at reception helpful. Public underground car park about ten minute walk away,no lift. .
