We found the farm through social and it was really a pleasant surprise. The location itself is lovely and the part reserved for the restaurant is no exception. The atmosphere is also given by soft music during dinner. We were impressed by both the dishes, made with simple ingredients of tradition but still sophisticated, both the quality of the service received and the final price, totally in line with our expectations. Great value for money.
A pleasant break from the most touristic places in the area

We had a really nice stay at the Masseria. The pool area especially is gorgeous and the area is lovely too.
The staff were always very friendly but never seemed to be around.
If you are looking for a place to stay where you are happy to fend for yourselves and relax, you will love your stay here. However if you are looking for a higher level of customer service and interaction, you may find yourself a bit frustrated.

Excellent! Beautiful masseria! Staff friendly and professional. Restaurant truly amazing! A little jewel. The grounds were very well kept and every detail was exceptional taste. Certainly recommend this masseria and can’t wait to return!

Although we saw the mixed reviews, we decide to go for it. We visit Puglia regularly and stayed in some really great Masseria’s. Yes, we’re spoiled and a bit demanding. But the pictures really look great. And yes, this place managed to disappointed us.
The junior suite we booked was basically a room with 2 big chairs in it. It was dark, low ceiling and looked more like a cheap 2nd rated motel room. The air conditioning was switched off and despite several request, they refused to turn it om. Management decision. So we left the outer door open during the night to cool down (27 celsius degrees). Paper cups in the room, worn down. Understaffed. It really needs a big makeover.
If is was say 150 euro’s, perfect place. But for almost 300 euro’s it’s way overcharged. In the near vincinity its easy to find better. A whole lot better. For 100 euro more per night, one gets so much better in terms of quality (atmosphere, service, interior, access to beach club, food, etc).
It is not, as often, the hard working employees who are to blame, but that’s obvious. Alas..

This property is beautiful with an abundance of various fruit trees growing- lemons, oranges, pommegranates, prickly pears, grapes...! The staff are very friendly and the pool area is amongst the best I've seen. The rooms are quite dark although large and spacious. We initially booked the luxury suite which I lasted one night in but had to move as I found the very low ceiling very claustrophobic. We moved to a smaller room with a high ceiling which was better but very dark. the showers are also just hand held showers mounted on the wall so not strong at all. There is a coffee machine in the rooms as well as a mini bar with refreshments. The breakfasts are nice and serving staff very friendly and helpful. If I ever returned I would make sure I get a room with better lighting. The Masseria is located near to the town which was helpful.

A really fabulous stay in one of the prettiest Italian country villas I have ever stayed in. The restaurant is excellent and the staff are very friendly Each room is individually furnished with genuine antique furniture. The courtyards are very picturesque and the swimming pool is surrounded by a garden of lemon trees. A lovely place ot unwind in style.

The Masseria Marzalossa is a gorgeous bed and breakfast with a lovely infinity pool and beautifully decorated reading and dining rooms. The room in which we stayed almost a week was huge and decorated in excellent taste with everything to make our stay comfortable. We did pay for one of the best suites and were glad we did so. The grounds are stunning and the breakfasts delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I had a celebratory birthday dinner at the hotel for which the cook baked a wonderful fruit-covered birthday cake and the owner of the masseria provided a complimentary bottle of champagne and joined in singing Happy Birthday. It was a memorable evening! The Masseria is in a central location outside Fasano, near many of the attractions of Puglia: Ostuni, Locorotundo, Martina Franca, Alberobella, the Grottoes of Castellana, several fishing villages including Sevelletri, and the ancient ruins at Egnazia. The staff can also recommend good restaurants nearby. We had a wonderful vacation at the masseria and would heartily recommend it to others.

We have been visiting Italy for years but have never come across as unfriendly and restrictive hotel as Masseria Marzalossa.
The owner of the place, Ms Guarini runs it as it was an army camp, shauting at waiters and restricting her guests to certain behaviour in line with "ruls" imposed by her which are posted throughout the hotel. Perhaps she was going through a difficult period at that time but we couldn't believe tension and athmospere of terror which she created in her "hospitality" business.
We arrived late and were immediately reprimended for it. Even worse, we took some fruits to eat in the eveing by the poolside and were asked to leave. The pool itself is impressively done with Roman collumns arround it however it does not have any umbrellas and Ms Guarini does not allow them around the pool. We noticed that terrorised guests quietly leave after a couple of hours of frying on the sun. We asked for umbrellas and were told to shut up ("ruls" apparently forbid umbrellas). On top of it, our son made a bit of noise in the pool, provoking Ms Guarini to burst out with anger (we highly value silence but Ms Guarini herself makes most of noise when shauting on the phone while sitting at the pool and watching her guests...) .
After 3 days at Masseria Marzalossa we had enough. Ms Guarini apparently had no slightest idea about runnig a hospitality business and probably thought it should be run in a manner similar to a high security jail. Fortunately we were on "two centres" holidays and spent our previous week at the charming and very friendly Villa Scarpariello in Amalfi. When we called them, we were delighted to learn that they had room for additional few days, so we happyly bid Ms Guardini and her "correctional facility" farwell.

I have just returned from the Masseria Marzalossa where I stayed for 8 nights as part of my honeymoon. This place has to be seen to be believed so get yourself on marzalossa.it to view some of the pictures.
The setting is fantasically beautiful, the service by Sebastian and Lucia is excellent, the 5 course meals are sublime, the pool is fantastic and the rooms (well we had a suite!!) were unbelievable.
All in all the Marzalossa is a ideal retreat for those wanting a bit of relaxing and peace. With only 12 or so bedrooms set in large grounds you can really escape from it all. Fasano itself has supermarkets and is surrounded in lovely little towns like Alberobello, Ostuni, Marina Franca, Locorotondo and further afield Massafra and Lecce.
Go to this place if you are in the area. If not then go to this beautiful part of Italy and stay at the Marzalossa.

The reviewer who titled his review "mixed feelings" mirrors our feelings exactly. The gardens, the masseria and the swimming pool are all beautiful. The meagre staff are shy but friendly. The owners--better left unsaid.
This is a beautiful spot that needs a jolt of investment and joy. The toilets run incessantly, some toilet seats fall off, the lighting is awful, the beds (mattresses) are incredibly cheap and the furniture is cheap and uncomfortable. The bathtub enamel was chipping away which made it feel dirty. The water pressure for the tub was non-existent. In other words, it took 20 minutes to fill up the tub. It would take so little to bring this hotel up to an acceptable standard. Our feeling was that the owners are milking the base charm of the place and don't have the vision to invest and make this a more cheery, high quality hotel.
The breakfast was simple continental without much imagination in making it a treat. Joyless and somewhat creepy is the best way I could describe the experience.
I want to be fair. The masseria is beautiful. The grounds are pretty in a natural way. The swimming pool is inviting to look at, but too cold to enjoy. The staff try hard, but I couldn't help feeling sorry for them tackling the problem of managing this hotel on their own without appropriate infrastructure to service the clients effectively.
We won't be back.
