We stayed at Borgo San Marco in late October, the property was quiet, there was a photo shoot crew (indicate how beautiful a setting this place is) and a few other guests, but the staff were still very attentive and happily greeted us late at night, they even provided biscuits and fruit for the kids on our late arrival. It's...

Food: Borgo San Marco is a huge let down in terms of food. Prices at the Borgo are high but expect low quality supermarket food. Despite being both by the coast and in an agricultural area, the food served at Borgo San Marco woeful. The few times we ate there, we we served overcooked vegetables swimming in oil, fried potatoes...

Stayed for 3 nights in early October. Room was up steep outside stairs with no proper handrail, across an uneven terrace. It was unavaoidably dark as the property is historic, but this was made worse by poor lighting (3 tatty lamps) and the walls being painted a dark grey. The shower room walls and floor (except tiled shower tray) were...

Arrival was a little tricky. It was quite late and the only staff was a (very friendly) guy who spoke no English. We sorted it all out eventually though. The place itself is fabulous. The main area was very pretty and well kept. The pool was fabulous and ideal for our little boy (18 months) as had a gentle sloping...

This place was an absolute nightmare of a stay. One night we had no electricity, no water, no food in the entire day! Although the masseria concept is sold as a getaway - they are not geared to be a hotel. (A) The hotel forgot to tell us that they had organised a private event on our 2nd night -...

This is predominantly a hotel designed for families and as a couple we felt a little outnumbered! We used it as a perfectly good base, essentially just for bed and breakfast. Breakfast service was a little erratic, but plentiful and delicious.

Stayed first time for 2 nights with our twins and had a great time. went back last summer for a whole week and the children enjoyed it even more, especially the stunning pool area. What's nice is the staff who recosgnised us and knew what we liked. the only downside was the long dinners, which took so long we had...

Stayed for 4 nights in late July. Had an amazing time and did not want to leave!! Stayed in a simple family room. The beds although were quite hard turned out to be comfortable and the air con on top of that led to a good night sleep. We stayed at the restaurant twice. The food is all homemade and...

We stayed in Borgo San Marco for three nights during a road trip across Puglia. The BSM property is both authentic and beautiful, and has so much potential! Unfortunately, the food and service - mediocre at best - were simply not at parity with the property itself. The dinner we had was served tepid, the breakfast was very basic, and...
