Our first trip to Block Island...avonlea exceeded our expectations. A beautiful B&B overlooking the water. Our innkeeper/hostess Lauren made us feel right at home as soon as we arrived until we left. Amazing breakfasts and afternoon happy hour were always served with care and a warm smile. We will definitely be back. Thank you Avonlea for making our first time...

Our first visit to Block Island. Recommend Island as well as this bed and breakfast highly. Warm, friendly, comfortable b/b. Breakfast and afternoon snack/wine were delicious with their home made baked goods. B/B is easy walking distance to town center and located right on the beech. Staff were warm, friendly, accommodating and welcoming.

Our view was spectacular and Holly the inn keeper was fantastic. Despite missing our ferry, the staff was wonderful in providing us other options and assistance to getting to the island. The room was quaint, with a breath taking view. You were 20 yards from the beach. I would highly recommend it.

Third visit with gracious and hospitable Innkeeper of Victorian Inns by the Sea, Ann, but first time staying in Avonlea. Stunning unobstructed views of the beach and ocean from a beautiful wraparound deck. Cozy wine & cheese hour allowing for socializing with other guests, sharing stories, and offering advice on area must-sees and dining suggestions. Delicious homemade buffet-style breakfasts and...

My third trip to Block Island and 2nd stay at Avonlea. I love this B and B. The rooms ( ive had the Moonstone and Diamond) are beautiful. The beds and pillows are amazing, with stunning views of the sea. Something about sleeping with windows open listening to the sound of the ocean and waking to amazing sunrises, just wonderful...

We stayed at the beautiful but quaint Avonlea Bed and Breakfast on Block Island right on the beach in April, 2016. It was quiet and so relaxing as we walked on the beach and sipped champagne on the outside patio watching the water. They served warm cookies and wine daily. There are not many rooms so you really get that...

My husband, daughter and I took a few days to go to Block Island. We needed a room for 3, and when I was looking at rooms, there were few to be found available. I found the Avonlea, and luckily, there was one room left, and it had a King Bed and a Day Bed (with trundle), so it was...

It is my hope that other reviews will put this one in perspective.

Sadly, the Avonlea qualifies as one of the worst, if not the worst, B&B we have ever stayed in (we have stayed in dozens and dozens of them, many really nice ones). Here is why: our room, The Amethyst, was a postage stamp. To get into the bed I had to walk sideways, like a hermit crab, along the back...

We stayed in the Amethyst room, which is a bit small but comfortable and the little porch outside the room was a nice bonus. The location is ideal, just outside of town, an easy stroll to restaurants (but also an easy stroll for people to use the beach, which can get crowded and noisy during the day). Also, the Yellow...
