This is our 2nd stay at the Sheffield House. Our hosts Diane & Ed were wonderful and our stay was another great one! The house is very clean and welcoming, and it's a easy walk to town. It's right up the street from Aldo's bakery and the mopeds/bikes if you would like to rent one. This is our go-to spot... More

We LOVE the Sheffield House. Diane and Ed are AMAZING hosts!! Very clean room, bathroom and community kitchen. Unlike the big hotels, Diane and Ed are able to recommend so many places, from restaurants, to breakfast spots, to bicycle rental shops. If you need anything, just ask, or even better, send them a text. Have stayed there 10x, and love... More

My wife and I visited Block Island for the long holiday weekend. We rented a room in this small B&B. What a lovely place - both Block Island and the Sheffield House. The room was small, but immaculately clean and very cute. The breakfast was very simple. Our hosts, Diane and Ed, were friendly accommodating, and made our stay truly... More

When searching for a place to stay on Block Island, my husband and I really wanted a charming place that was intimate and gave us that us that New England feel. We never had to opportunity to stay at a B&B and wanted to take this vacation opportunity to try one. We couldn't have been happier with our choice of... More

Wonderful, unobtrusive yet personable on-premises host family. Spotlessly clean. Very nice, tastefully decorated, old-fashioned rooms with ceiling fans and island breezes. A fabulous continental breakfast includes hard boiled eggs, breads, granola/cereals, yogurt, milk, fruit, a different fresh-baked item every morning, juices, excellent coffee, teas, condiments, etc. Early risers may enjoy bantering with the hosts and having first dibs as they... A quiet little B&B just beyond the center of town. Diane and Ed were very helpful in recommending restaurants and things to do. Relaxed breakfast (with strong coffee) was served at guests' convenience from 8am-10am which is nice when some B&Bs I've stayed at have restrictive breakfast time policies. Enjoyed sitting on the outdoor porch and also relaxing on the... More

Lovely and well cared-for B&B. Recommended! The B&B owner, Diane, was very prompt in returning my late night call for a room and friendly on the phone. The B&B is immaculate! I don't know if it was recently renovated but the carpets, floors and tile is all extremely clean and very nicely designed. It's charming and not over the top... More

Our stay at Sheffield House was a true delight. The house is a beautiful Victorian with a pointed turret. There are gorgeous flowers in the front yard and each of the rooms is named for a flower. Our room was lovingly furnished to reflect its name, the Rose Mallow room, and the bed was very comfortable. All was spotlessly clean.... More

Sheffield House is in a perfect location. It's in a quieter area but is still a very easy walk from the ferry and the town where all of the restaurants and shops are. There is also a beach that is within walking distance. It's also a very beautiful Victorian with very clean and nice rooms with any of the amenities... More

This quiet and elegant Inn on high street is the perfect getaway for a romantic couple. There is a general store right across the street and it's only a short walk into town. Lovely choice for the price.

“We slept in room #6 at first and moved to room #5 for our last night - for no other reason than booking crossovers. Both rooms were great but I did like #5 as it was a bit bigger. You can't really go wrong - even the ones that share a bathroom had a really beautiful modern bathroom!”
