Our stay at Tallow Beach Motel was fabulous. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. It is only a short walk to the nearby pub, coffee shop, bakery, supermarket and a number of restaurants. The beach is a very close too - lovely in the morning and afternoon. I booked for our group of 12 friends and Frances and Mandi were gracious hosts, listening to and catering for our various needs. They kept in contact to ensure if we had any issues we could have them dealt with straight away. I highly recommend it as a place to stay.

A spontaneous trip to Byron for some much needed down time , led me to stumble upon a little gem .
A stones throw from stunning Tallows beach Though it was hard to leave the serenity of the accommodation, surrounded by lush green gardens and a pool and the ambience was nothing but zen

Lovely place to stay - a tasteful, ambient space set in lush gardens. It is quiet and private and just across the road from a track to the beautiful beach. Great location - close to Byron Bay and Broken Head, and a short drive to Brunswick Heads, Bangalow and all the other great places to enjoy in the area. The room was clean and comfortable, it has a pool set in pretty shaded gardens and best, Frances the manager was friendly, helpful and quick to oblige with any requests. The staff on cleaning were also friendly and helpful. Frances organised our room to be cleaned last so we could have a late check out. We stayed 5 nights and our whole experience at Tallow Beach Motel was very pleasant. Thanks Frances. :)

What a great find. Between the two of us we’ve visited Byron many times over many years but never stayed at Tallow Beach before. So glad we booked Tallow Beach Motel. Great communication as soon as I booked online, easy check in and out. The room was beautiful and clean- comfortable beds. The pool and garden is private - perfect space for a dip and relax after a day on the road.
Woke to birdsong before crossing the road to watch the sunrise over the ocean… literally seconds from our front door - just magical.
Dinner, supermarket and a beer garden within a few minutes walk.
So many happy memories made in Byron and will definitely return to Tallow Beach Motel for our next lot.

My wife and I had a pleasant four nights stay at this Balinese Styled Rustic boutique motel. It was unexpectedly wonderful. The room is spacious and clean. It was conveniently located in the north coastal beaches of the NSW North Coast. From there we drove to Byron Bay, Tweeds Head, Ballina, Coffs Harbour and Coolangatta. The pristine Tallow beach is a stone’s throw away. Suzie the hotel manager is pleasant and friendly and very helpful. The motel had very colourful and mature garden. Really happy with stay.

Stayed iust the one night, which was allowed - these days is unusual. Shame we could not stay longer. Room was a good size, nice and clean. Microwave, toaster, kettle, tea coffee etc supplied. Pool was clean, and motel was close to beach. Owner was helpful and friendly. 10 min walk to shops and pub, across the road from a lovely beach. Good pricing, we will return.

This little gem of a motel is just paradise...beautiful garden swimming pool area and a stones throw from the beach and well situated for a short drive or bike ride to town. So peaceful and quite. Lovely motel with excellent amenities. We stayed overnight only but would be a good place to stay for few days. Wonderful gardens and pool. Tallow Beach is just a walk across the road. Convenient shop and bakery around the corner.

It's just a perfect place, close to a great beach, great owners and really very comfortable. It's only drawback is that it's not super close to Byron Bay itself, but not that far either... it doesn't matter, it's just a great place!

3 is "Average" and 4 is "Very Good", but this motel is neither! It is certainly better than "Average" but is not "Very Good". I would call it "Good". The location is excellent, in particular the proximity to a fabulous beach that does not have the Byron bay hoards on it. The street is quiet and the rooms are private, with a lovely tropical garden garden to look at. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was adequate. The person we dealt with was friendly and helpful.
However, the room was dusty and the floors and curtains needed a good vacuum cleaning. Particularly irritating was an electronic beeping noise that started around 11.30 pm, or thereabouts, and went on continuously for several hours. It seemed to be coming from outside the room.
The motel is 6 kilometres from the centre of Byron Bay and this may be an issue for people who like to be closer to the action! (But, this isn't the case for us!)
As for the big question - would we stay there again? Yes, provided the negatives were fixed!
