The pictures do not do the place justice. The rooms had everything we require there was even milk butter, eggs and coffee beans in the fridge . The rooms were very clean and tastefully decorated with lovely art work. Correct food was also provided for the wildlife and a guide to how much to feed them. The spa in the late afternoon was delightful.

Thankyou for your review it's really appreciated, so glad you enjoyed staying with us at Yelverton Brook. We do try hard to over deliver with a lot of little extras big resorts cannot do as a small family run place is a bit more flexible. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon, kind regards Joy & Simon

What can I say but "wow, what a wonderful stay we had!!!" The accommodation is clean and serviceable. Not new but all in good working order and not shabby at all. There is a washing machine in the cottage and a fair sized kitchen with fridge and freezer. BBQ and nice terrace outside with ample space and even a hot tub! But.. the cherry on the cake here is most definitely the wildlife that potters about you. It was just brilliant. The woylies (we'd never seen them before, didn't even know what they were when we saw them at first), came scuttling about. So incredibly funny and cute, bandicoots and possums hanging in a feeding trough. Then as ultimate fun, a great deal of kangaroos who were very friendly and gentle. We were able to feed them bits of banana, veggies from our hands and they were really very very nice. The children loved it too and it was extremely fun.
The owners provide you with tubs of food for the animals so you are giving them the good stuff. Lots of parrots too.
If you like animals and the interaction with them, then this place is a MUST! We only stayed 3 nights but had we known this place was SO excellent, we'd have gladly stayed our whole 11 day Australian holiday there.
(The garbage disposal took a bit of getting used to though, as we were not so sure in which of the 4 containers things had to go, so we might have messed up there a bit but we did our best!)
Large supermarket in Vasse which is just up the road.
If you're in doubt and love animals- doubt no more, stay at this place, you won't be disappointed!!

Thanks Saskia for the review you have helped other potential guests really understand the magic of Yelverton Brook. About the recycling we have a twin bin for general rubbish & paper, then a large basket for plastics, bottles & cans. Plus a chicken scraps bucket for organic waste they can eat. Yes the new Coles Supermarket in Vasse is so close & convenient with a great selection, plus just across the road is a brand new Japanese Restaurant! We look forward to meeting you again, kind regards Joy & Simon p.s. we now have a monthly newsletter called "Tails of Margaret River" if you would like to subscribe just email or call us.

If you don't like busy crowds and the normal hustle and bustle of most conventional accommodation and you want to have your own, extremely private, very relaxing, little touch of paradise, then this is THE PLACE for YOU! What makes Yelverton Brook Eco Retreat so special, is the interaction that you are able to have with our great Australian Wildlife, right on your doorstep. Most mornings were filled with greetings from the kangaroos and an amazing array of bird-life (splendid fairy wrens, scrub wrens, red chested robins, 28's, kookaburras and we even saw a brown falcon), while having our morning coffee or BBQ breakfast on the patio. We also had a few visits from the resident bobtail lizard, that spent almost more time around our Outdoor Spa bath, than we did...almost, lol. How idyllic, to have a hot tub surrounded by bush and nature, while being able to have a nice glass of wine, relax and even be able to feed a roo or two, with some carrot or sweet potato, while in the spa. At night, that's when things started to get really interesting! From about dusk, the kangaroos would return, joined by woylies (a Quokka's little cousin), followed by several, cheeky possums and a couple bandicoots, all looking for a feed, in which Simon and Joy provided special food for us. Every day and night was different to the last, each animal having so much character, that kept us entertained for hours. With only 5, very homely, well-equipped Chalets on the property and enough distance away from each other, you really feel like you have your own little slice of heaven, while holidaying on this beautiful, natural estate. There are two one bedroom villas, being Fern and Banksia and three, 2 bedroom villas, being Jarrah, Sheoak and Peppermint, making this place perfect for romantic getaways, as well as for family vacations (plenty of toys, dvds and board games for the kids). We didn't really feel much need to venture off the property that often, but it is so well appointed and is less than 20-30 minutes drive, for day trips to visit other great places "down south", like Margaret River, Cowaramup, Dunsborough and Busselton. And with local shops in Vasse, less than 10 minutes away, we were never left wanting for anything. We were initially booked in for 5 days, but loved it so much, that we decided to stay another 2 and would have stayed longer, if we could have! This place has been around for over 27 years and my only regret is that we didn't find it sooner. A massive thank you, to Simon and Joy for being such amazing hosts and for going above and beyond for us, on more than one occasion. We will see you again soon! Lots of love, The Lake Family.

Our stay at Yelverton Brook was absolutely amazing! It was great to be able to walk through some beautiful bushland spotting the birds and wildlife. The chalet was cosy and very comfortable (and was entirely spider-free despite being surrounded by bush, which was a blessing for my incredibly arachnophobic wife!). At night, the lawn beside the chalet was teeming with woylies, bandicoots, and possums, all of whom (but especially the woylies) were content to approach us and take the food provided from our hands. The clear night sky is stunning too, so far from the city. We woke each morning to the sound of kookaburras and the sight of 28s playing and bathing in the birdbath, followed shortly afterwards by kangaroos hopping right up to us and eating from our hands. Watching them graze from the comfort of the outdoor spa was just delightful. Simon and Joy are great hosts, so friendly and helpful, and Joy gave us loads of brilliant tips about where to go on our further travels through Margaret River. Truly a wonderful place to reconnect with nature for a while.

Beautiful accomodation in the most relaxing forested peaceful setting.
Morning and evening visits from the resident kangaroos and possums, parrots and woylies, so amazing, with food provided to hand feed these lovely creatures.
Most well equipped accommodation we have ever stayed in with great attention to minor details.

Our little family enjoyed a beautiful 3 day trip to Yelverton Brook. The quaint chalet melts into the bush. We felt so lucky to be able to enjoy a bbq or a spa whilst hanging out with Kangaroos and even hand feeding them. Even the possum with a little baby on board was comfortable with being hand fed.
We got the wood fire going on our second nights stay and enjoyed a game of monopoly then capped it off with watching “it’s a wonderful life” with a glass of wine.

Throughout the stay Simon and Joy were so welcoming and such a pleasure to run into

All in all this was our idea of a holiday. Unwind and unplug. Recharge the batteries in nature and just let go

Such a fantastic place! You start to relax as soon as the gate closes behind you and you can't stop smiling when the first kangaroo pops up to say hello, then the next. Very cool sitting in the hot tub watching the possums, woylies and bandicoots come into your private garden area to see what you have put out to feed them (all provided - just bring fruit). A very comfortable cottage, very well equipped and close to the beautiful coast, vineyards and Margret River. A weekend was too short!

We stayed here with our daughter & son in law who had booked this for us in a 2 bedroom chalet. As others have said these chalets or cabins you might call them are self contained with nice terrace with BBQ, out door dinning together with 6 persons hydrotherapy spar hot tub. So quiet & relaxing and well spaced out, secure site to keep the kangaroos, Woylies, Bandicoots & Possum safe. On our first night the girls went out to find the kangaroos and while they were away from the chalet, all of a sudden we heard the Kangaroos coming towards us through the bush, 6 in all.
The owners of the site provide special food in different jars for each of the animals & birds so you can feed them it was just incredible. They were there most of the night, and the next day together with the Bandicoots & the Woylies which are very quick.
So relaxing a must place to visit the owners are great even will provide special bread that they bake on site. Soooo soooo quite excellent place to stay and so near the winery's that you can visit.

We had the Jarrah villa for 5 nights on a recent break and absolutely loved it. We arrived in late afternoon and the villa was clean and well equipped with fully equipped kitchen and washing machine. Butter and Milk left in the fridge which a nice welcome to have a cup of tea/coffee. Joy and Simon let you get on with it but there to assist should you have any questions. The feed left for kangaroos/possums and bird a great touch and our 2 year old loved feeding the roos, and has been bouncing around since. I think this is the quietest place i have ever stayed. The spa/hot tubs lovely to look at the stars, just don't get scared of the bushes rustling :-)

Best stay at Yelverton, chalet was perfect, had everything we needed and beautifully baked fresh organic bread waiting on our arrival. Chalet was gorgeous and very clean.
It was fantastic to get away from the city and get back to nature, so tranquil.
We could sit in the spa under the stars, breathe in all the fresh country air and just relax.
We had all the local visitors come to our door to be fed, kangaroos, possums, both ringtail & bush tail, woylies, bandicoot, variety if birds. We were able to go for a nature walk each day as the property had several trails throughout it.
This was our first visit but will definitely not be our last, we loved it. It was like heaven on earth for us.

Thankyou for the great review and explaining it so well for potential future guests of what to enjoy during their stay at Yelverton Brook. We do clean with fibre technology and no harsh or toxic chemicals, plus essential oils - we try hard to provide a safe environment for guests as well as our wildlife. So good to hear you enjoyed the walking trails, they do take a wee bit of work to keep open but the seats around them made for a nice spot to relax in nature. Kind regards Joy & Simon

Hi Karen our 2 x bedroom chalets do offer 2 x queen beds & a double sofa bed in the lounge area. So can sleep up to 6 in comfort. This is actually one fully self contained chalet. If you have any issues or questions please contact the owners direct so they can help you, they have a direct booking calendar on their website with instant confirmation. The if there is any questions or problems it's so much easier to help you than going through a third part website. Plus they offer some special offers on their website as well not found anywhere else.

Hi your family would be better suited to the 2 x bedroom spa chalet. It costs the same for your family in either style. Pricing works on 2 x adults then extra persons are an extra cost. Extra adults are $50 p/nt, children are $25 p/nt each. The 1 bedroom chalet is more a studio style, open plan more suited to a romantic stay for 2. Kind regards Joy
