Stayed for 5 days as a base to explore the Margaret River areas and it was was an Excellent choice.

The 2 bedroom villa was perfect for the family and the rammed earth walls complemented the great bush setting. Facilities were spotless and well provided for especially the little touches like laundry washing detergent that saved us having to provide. Beds were comfortable with lots of storage in the rooms. Only accommodation I have been in where a pioneer sound system was provided! (note only playable through the DVD player and not the TV in isolation)

The grounds were very well presented especially around the function areas and a great place to enjoy some cheese and wine purchased during the day.

Location was very central to numerous wineries and a short drive to the main roads either heading north or south.

Overall an excellent place and would definitely recommend. Only suggestion for management would to provide additional crockery and cutlery as there was only enough to cover a single meal and it felt a waste putting the dishwasher on. Also having some DVD's in the office or board games would have been a nice addition especially when staying with kids.

We really enjoyed our stay at Eight Willows. The location is perfect. Not too far from Margaret river and close to numerous wineries and other tourist destinations. The setting is so gorgeous too. The rooms are very well equipped with everything you need, including bug spray, a full kitchen, hair dryer, ironing board and washing powder. The spa bath was very relaxing too. The bed was very comfortable with a choice of firm or soft pillows. Extra blankets were provided too. The air con worked well. We cooked in the kitchen and on the bbq and wnjoyed sitting on the verendah. We really enjoyed the tranquility and listening to the birds. It is lovely to walk by the lake too. We can't wait to return.

Great place great location, nice property the villa we booked overlooked the lake. Great size two rooms both had very comfy queen beds. Bathroom good size and had a spa bath, well equipped kitchen ordered a breakfast basket for two mornings which I thought were well priced at $35, bbq on verandah, fire place with gas fire, Kitchen had dishwasher , washing machine and dryer which was a good addition. Three nights cost $370 which was great value! Can’t wait to visit this beautiful property again.

Just returned from a most relaxing and comfortable 5 night stay in a 2 bedroom (queen size beds)/1 bathroom (shower/spa bath combo) rammed earth chalet overlooking the gazebo and lake.
There is a fully equipped kitchen with oven, full size fridge/freezer, dishwasher, a washing machine/dryer, (Eight Willows owners have thought to provide everything from foil/cling film to washing powder). The dining table seats 6, there were 2 lounges, a tv/sound system as well.
All the furnishings and fittings are high end, including huge high quality thick/fluffy bath towels and high quality shampoo, body wash etc.
The Manager and all the staff we encountered were extremely friendly, pleasant and helpful. The grounds and gardens are very well tended. The chalet was sparkling clean and housekeeping staff serviced it after 3 days and checked to see if we needed anything on another. It's the little touches that make this place so special - one of the best things to me was finding a clean kettle (so unique as most places rarely/ever clean them!)
We're already looking forward to & planning our next stay at Eight Willows!

My husband and I spent 3 nights at this retreat and all I can say is "WOW"! We had the one bedroom chalet and we were most impressed with the way it was furnished and set up, from the little important details like providing top notch branded appliances and stylish kitchen equipment, to the high end toiletries provided in the bathroom. It definitely had that "designer" touch to it! We also appreciated the fact that everything was kept so clean. We could park our car just outside the front door which made it very concenient when taking out our luggage or when we went grocery shopping. The patio came complete with a BBQ grill although we did not get to use it since it was too cold to eat outdoors. Since this property is set on 75 acres we enjoyed our morning walks through the forest. The location is also fantastic and only approx 20 to 30mins drive to the wineries around the region. I would definitely recommended 8 Willows to all my friends back home, and especially so since the owners of this place have a connection with Singapore!

I booked a king bed chalet through Booking.com. Even though we're "Genius Level" with Booking.com, we still paid extortionate prices for our two night stay over a long weekend holiday, but the usual price hikes for holiday periods came as no surprise.

The first thing that struck me was the quiet, which was very welcome indeed after a stressful few weeks. We had a vineyard view over the wildflower garden and it was just lovely to sit on the patio and admire the view and listen to the birdsong.

The chalet itself is fully self catering with no dining options so come prepared. The unit is stocked with all the equipment you will need to cook a meal. We were also given a list of restaurants in Margaret River located 20 minutes away.

The Wi-Fi is woeful, so don't make big plan to do internet based activities while you're there. It's also more of a winter retreat as there is no swimming pool.

There was a lovely deep spa bath in chalet which was relaxing (except for the sound of the spa jets which resembled jet engines right next to your ear).

Was it worth the huge price tag? It was quiet and very comfortable which was just what we wanted, so it depends on how much value you put on comfort I guess.

My husband and I booked three nights here having stayed once previously without issue but very disappointed this time around. We were in a studio, the middle one so had neighbours on the left and right side. First night went well, nice and quite however the neighbour on the right moved out the following morning and a family then moved in! A couple with two young children and so noisy. The children had fun running around our balcony and their father had to make a phone call from our balcony because there was so much noise going on in his unit. We then had to shut the curtains to get privacy. The visitors to their studio unit started arriving in the afternoon and went on into party mode all evening. Around 11.00 pm we had had enough so phoned through to Reception to ask for help however we were put through to an answering machine. Even with ear plugs in we could still hear the party going on. We cannot understand why Eight Willows Retreat would book a family of four in a studio unit ie a studio is one bedroom and then to put a family next to a single couple when there were other units vacant. Everyone could have privacy and quiet where required if people were separated. My husband and I concluded 1) either the reservation staff were inexperienced or 2) with us all being sandwiched in the one location it was less hassle for the cleaners. I have emailed our concerns to Eight Willows without response.

First the bad .... I booked directly with the business despite being able to save nearly $200 over the 2 nights I stayed with an online booking service. I did this because I wanted to support the smaller business and because they “guaranteed best price” on their home website. When I spoke with them they actually refuse to honour the online booking tool or even offer something similar. It wasn’t a great start but we pushed on.
So, the upside. We had a nice stay in one of the king bed chalets. It was really well laid out and well appointed, very clean. They were pretty stingy with towels and blankets, we got one towel each for our stay. I have long hair, and really like to have an extra towel but we managed. It was quite chilly overnight and we had no choice but to have the reverse cycle ac on overnight as the one extra blanket wasn’t enough.
The bath was lovely, but only fits one comfortably. And I would have loved a pod machine for coffee, but all in all not really much to complain about.
I would suggest to all venues to consider that not everyone likes a super firm bed though, although obviously good quality I had terrible sleep, waking with a very sore back and my partner even commented on how firm the bed was.

There seems to be 2 types of chalets - those that look a bit dated on the outside and those that look more modern. Not sure if it's dependent on the room type, we selected a studio chalet and were lucky to be give #21 which was in a more private corner, facing the vineyard. During booking I had asked for a Lake view, but they mentioned there was no more availability, which might be a blessing because i think, the Lake view chalets are the dated looking types.

We had a peaceful stay, when we are in our balcony, it seems like we are the only ones on the estate, you can't really see you neighbours.
Well, we did have nightime visits by a quenda and saw a couple of big black lizards scurrying in the bush surrounding our chalet, but that's why it is so important to keep the screen door shut to the inside whenever you're hanging out in the balcony! The space is comfortably large for a couple, we didn't cook in but chose to order takeaway to go with our wines, but the kitchen is fully equipped. We used the oven once to heat up our takeaway Lamb Ribs, but it wasn't very user friendly as we had trouble switching it off - we left it open and were planning to call someone, when around 30 mins later, it switched off on its own.
The bed and pillows are very comfortable, and bathroom amenities are provided. It was a 2 night stay, so we didnt interact too much with any staff, but overall, a peaceful stay. Oh, i have to comment that the Miele washer and dryer were super modern and came in very handy!

Location wise - it's good. Near all the best wineries of Marg River, and if you need a break, you can takeaway some food from the nearby Beer Farm for dinner (the aforementioned lamb ribs!)

Do stock up on what you need for meals before you reach there as there aren't many restos open for dinner (mostly wineries nearby and wine restos only serve lunch). We headed to Dunsborough Coles to buy brekkie stuff and simple stuff for dinners like cheeses and hams. They can fix up a brekkie basket for extra cost where they'll give you eggs, bread, juices, coffee, yogurt etc... they will inform you at reception, so you can just do that if you don't want to buy groceries for brekkie.

We've stayed at Eight Willows multiple times, its really ideal for couples and this was our first time staying with our newborn. The environment and atmosphere is perfect for people who want a quiet retreat. The chalets having kitchens allow you to have a nice relaxing evening meal in and use it as a home base for exploration of the region.

We used the in room cot hire with the understanding that it was a cot as the picture was of a full cot, but unfortunately on arrival it was a porta-cot. Which if we knew we would have brought our own. Fortunately after informing them they have updated their website to a picture of a porta-cot.

Our spa bath's water jets were not working on the first night of our two night stay so had to get maintenance out to fix it up. Which i don't mind too much, things break. Only disappointing thing that as a long time customer they didn't even offer any compensation or anything for the above issues, but there were very minor so its not a big problem.

The staff were very friendly and approachable and the chalet was clean and in good condition. Overall a very needed trip for us.
