Rooms are dirty and behaviour are very bad after repeated information to extend these people dont undersrand the words and off my electricity. 1st time i saw such type of idiotic behaviour of any hotel manager. My advice not to book for a min this hotel.
Booked a four nights stay in this hotel thinking that it was value for money. It's an expensive ride to Nagoya Hills mall (be prepared to pay about 70,000Rupiahs for one way) even though this hotel is in the Nagoya area. Room is spacious (superior), however there's an ever present smell of cigarettes smoke. Supposed to non-smoking rooms but there's a constant fresh smell of cigarette smoke seeping into the room from somewhere. Air freshener does not get rid of the stink. Housekeeping can't do anything about it. Smoking is allowed everywhere in the hotel, including the dining area (which has no air con nor fans for ventilation). Not recommended to stay here unless you're thinking of going to their morning fresh market. There are nicer hotels around.
Not for the faint in heart! Something of an adventure as we have decided to do it as much as a local would. Unfortunately, we never had the premonitions or privilege of locals knowing the location of the hotels. Should not have accepted the recommendations from the hotel.com agent(telephone) concerning Standard Hotel@ Batam (Jodoh district) without our own proper review and research. There are better budget-hotels for the same/similar price as confirmed by the locals themselves. Firstly, although the hotel is located near to Nagoya Hill shopping center, it's not in the best of location as it's located beside the main morning wet markets of Jodoh and possibly Batam. Thus the full surroundings of the hotel perpetually smells. It's already a maze not stepping on things you should not or getting splashed by wet-market waters on the feet from motorcycles moving pass you. Secondly this hotel appears to be clean although the building appears rundown. Unfortunately the bedsheets and pillow coverings do not appear to have be changed/washed on a daily basis. There are stains, remnants of follicles and the sandy feeling on the sheets. It was a blessing in itself that there was no other inhabitants upon seating on the beds. Furthermore, the blankets are filled with cigarette burn holes. We stayed as much away from the hotel for as long as possible. Third, the breakfast is literally basic. There was only plain fried rice, plain white bread with butter /marjerin and lontong with curry vege. For beverage it's either coffee or tea.…
The room is quite spacious for 3 people and the room cleanliness was also okay. The staff were all friendly and the service provided was also good. Toilet was okay, quite clean but I dont expect much from a budget hotel. Breakfast was provided and it the breakfast was good despite lesser option to choose from. And what I like about the hotel is that it is located really close to Ramayana. There's a lot of food places and shopping places located nearby and if you know your way, you can just walk to DC mall within 15 minutes. Overall, my stay was good here at Standard Hotel.
We stayed here just for one night on our way to Sumatra. The area is scetchy and very dirty and smelly. I saw 6 big rats in 5 minutes walking right outside the hotel. The hotel it self is okey. They are allowed to smoke everywhere though so be prepared for that. The room we had was spacious and nice. No signs of bedbugs and we had a nice sleep. They assisted us with the transfer to the airport. They don't speak to much english so if you have advanced questions bring google translate. The wifi didn't reach the rooms :/ Recommended for an overnight stay but I wouldn't stay there longer.
